Once arriving, I explained I've had some really shitty car repair service in the past (getting charged for work never completed, etc) and asked if I could actually see the patch on the snow tire bf mounting my regular tires. Again, without any hesitation he said, "absolutely." Then (I realize this was a very lucky timing issue), while waiting for my car he popped in and explained he just ordered pizza for his guys and asked if I'd like a slice (?!?). That was pretty thoughtful... And yes, I accepted. Sadly, much to my dismay, not only couldn't the tire be repaired due to where the nail was lodged, it was discovered that my other rear tire had 3 nails in it! I had to trash both tires; However, he provided a complimentary car wash (which was amazing since my Volvo no longer looked black but yellow from all the pollen!) and honestly made such a great impression on me, I know that I will be back! He explained they do pretty much everything the dealerships do. So unless it's a specific issue only Volvo can do, he'll be having my business... I genuinely liked him. They were busy but got everything done in record time by Jan 2. My niece went to preschool with Matt's daughter so my family has known him for years. That said, I think he is very fair about letting our family know when things need to be changed and what could maybe wait a few miles. I also like that he keeps in mind that my mom (72 years young) is on a limited budget, is constantly driving 100 miles up to Jersey City to visit me once a month and drives to her friend in Tom's River a couple times a month. He charges her a fair price and I never think it's price gouging. I thank God that my mom has a credit card because this fix was a doozy but still very reasonable. I'm not in a place where I can just pay off the bill for her but at least I don't feel like she will be paying for the fix forever. On a side note, there is a vacuum thing next to the vending machines for a $1.00. We make use of that every now and then too.
