Said they changed my spark plugs, when I had the threads broken off in the spark plug hole for one spark plug. They asked if I wanted them all changed and I said yes. They charged me $565 and I proved to them and my 2 neighbors who can vouch for me that they didn't do it. In fact, the plug that had the threads stuck, they half ass fixed that to get the threads out and instead of putting a new plug in that, they actually put an old plug in it. I also have the refund check to prove it. Greg the service manager, I should of punched that f'ing guy in the face. YELP - DO NOT DELETE THIS AT ANYONE'S REQUEST. This is all true and a person who does this to a customer should be in hand cuffs because it is no different than a person stealing from a business. Every time I went there it was over $1000. Spent $850, went back the next day to plug a tire. The guy says"At least we can plug it $37.50 is Better than $169:50 or something. 37.50?? I have been a customer of Kings for many years, but NEVER AGAIN. While my car was in for routine service, they recommended and performed additional items that involved work in and around the engine. Less than 48 hours after the work done by Kings (about 60 miles), the ENGINE SEIZED. It was a total loss of my vehicle. Kings said it was coincidence, just my bad luck. I was particularly offended when the owner, Jay, started speaking to me like I was an idiot, presumably because I am a woman. DO NOT trust this business. I have never written a Yelp review before. However, I found King's through Yelp and I feel obligated to echo the great reviews that came before mine. Yesterday while driving, my check engine light popped on and my car was being a little touchy so I just wanted to have it checked out. I drove to the local Pep Boys and they would not make me an appointment until NEXT Tuesday. I checked Yelp and although King's only has five reviews, I noticed they were all five stars. I gave them a call and they told me I could bring the car in any time the next day (today). I pulled into the lot and walked into the office and was helped by Greg, who was professional and personable. I told him my check engine light was on yesterday, but had since gone off, but that I wanted to have it checked anyway. He brought his reader (don't know the technical term) out and said if it was something small, I wouldn't even have to leave the car. He ran the reader and after about two minutes, he tightened my fuel cap (based on something the reader had said) and sent me on my way. He assured me nothing indicated a serious problem and welcomed me to come back if the problem persisted. Free of charge! I appreciate that they didn't keep my car to poke around when nothing was wrong. I've had negative experiences with that at other places in the past. While I can't comment on King's actual repair work, if it is anything like their customer service, I would guess that it is excellent. What I can say is that this five minute interaction established trust. I've had negative experiences at other places in the past as a single female going to an auto mechanic alone, so trust is a HUGE DEAL. Now, if anything more serious ever happens to my car, I would feel 100% comfortable taking it to King's. read more

I will ALWAYS chose King's Automotive for my car service. Jay, Greg, Dennis and the rest of the staff are always checking my car when I have a concern. There are many times that they have told me of issues that need to be fixed with my car and tell me before any work is done in case it's something I'm able to do on my own. My family purchased a car for me a few years back and Jay always assures safety as if his own daughter was driving it. Well, I was in Havertown Quarry Center when a man of Hispanic maybe decent approached my vehicle with a magnetic Kings Automotive sign on his car door. My wife and I have taken our cars to King's the past few times we needed oil changes or inspection. I was having some trouble with a leak in my car that seemed to be from the sun roof, so I made an appointment and asked them to take a look. They cleaned out the front drain for the sun roof, and I paid about $200 for that. Unfortunately, I soon discovered that the leaking problem was not fixed, so I made an appointment to take my car back in for another look. On the day of my appointment, I was kind of surprised by the way the guy in the office (Greg) Spoke to me when I got there to drop the car off at 9:00 AM. He seemed like I was bothering him to bring my car in which was weird- especially since I was an existing customer, he's the one I talked to when I made the appointment, and, after all, I had an appointment. When I asked what time I should plan to pick my car up he very curtly said- 5:00 PM. A technician who happened to be in the office explained that they would need to keep it all day since they would have to open up the back panel to figure out why the sun roof was still leaking. By 4:00 I hadn't heard anything, so I called to see what they found and confirm I should still plan to pick up at 5:00. Greg told me- they're still working on it and he would call me when it was ready. I called back at 5:10 even though he hadn't called me back since I was originally told it would be done at 5:00. At 5:10, Greg told me I'll need to make another appointment- that they would need a full day to work on it- to open it up and see what's causing the leak. I said to him- but you had it all day already to open it up and see what needs to be done to fix the leak- he told me- "You're not the only customer" and walked away from me. So my car was there the whole day as a follow up because the original repair did not fix the problem and at the end of the day I was told to bring it back another day- to do what they were supposed to be doing during the whole day they already had it. And on top of all that I was treated and spoken to as if I were a nuisance- a bother- an inconvenience. I don't know if they treat all customers like this or just those of us with brown skin and accents, but guess what King's automotive- you don't need to worry about me- or my family- or my friends- or anyone who cares about basic respect being your customers anymore. read more

I've always found King's Automotive to be efficient, fair, and reasonable with regard to prices for service and parts. I've gone to King's for over a decade for work on my various Volvos. They recently did an inspection, oil change, and various other small repairs on my Volvo V70 wagon, all of which were done well and in a timely manner. Previous repairs have involved larger projects such as brakes, and those too were done well. And they are upfront about the costs and are happy to explain what is involved in the repairs. The personable staff, especially Dennis, Greg, and the owner Jay, communicate with you effectively to let you know the status of your repair.
