The ice cream itself isn't that great. What makes people go ga-ga over it are the huge chunks of chocolate mixed in...or the toffee bars. Yummy, yes. But they really don't make up for the mediocre quality of the ice cream itself. Now, let's talk about price. I was going through receipts from last month and doing some accounting when I came across one from Graeter's. I can't believe I was foolish enough to do this...$25+ for a half gallon of peppermint stick ice cream plus a little jar of chocolate sauce! For a flavor every other ice cream maker on the planet has at Christmas time too, many of which are comparable, and actually better quality, for about $15?! been here two times and both experiences were great! parking can be tricky depending on the time. staff was very friendly. they explained the flavors & allowed me to try samples. my favorite flavor is the cherry chip, which is one of the lactose free flavors. A game-changer for uptown Oxford. We have plenty of Graeter's ice cream in our house, thanks to the bounty of Chicago grocery stores, but to really get the goods you have to go to a brick and mortar store, where they have an abundance of flavors, especially when the summer fruit is good. This is almost a daily evening ritual when we're visiting town. But I would be doing you a great disservice if I neglected to mention my newest discovery at Graeter's -- the pretzel cone! It is sturdier than a normal sugar or waffle cone, meaning it stays sturdy all the way through your scoop. And it is savory with delicious chunks of salt, the perfect contrast to the sweetness of ice cream. By all rights, this innovation ought to sweep every ice cream shop in the country. read more

Graeter's is a Cincinnati-area classic, and with good reason! They are a local business and they make the ice cream in small batches instead of in massive factories and you can definitely tell the difference! I love their ice cream, particularly their black raspberry chocolate chip which is an all-time favorite. They also produce seasonal flavors available for limited time based on the month. Unfortunately, this location is not my favorite Graeter's location and I honestly do not come here when I am in Oxford. The staff are nice and the location is not necessarily bad in the usual ways. There is just very limited seating inside and it is difficult to want to drive uptown just to have to take things to go. I live in Cincinnati when I am not in school, so I normally just go to my local locations when I am in the mood for their ice cream. They are also a bit expensive, especially when comparing to UDF which is just a few doors down. However, if you are from outside of Graeter's reach when you are not on-campus, it is definitely somewhere to try at least once! read more

literally terrible... customer service was awful, asked me a question, they had their personal speaker playing so loud I couldn't hear, asked them to repeat the question and they said "okay" and started making my drink... when I got my drink it was HARDER THAN A ROCK. the whole thing is ice... could not even stick my straw in it... got home and had to throw it away because it was still solid ice. never going here again. read more

The manager, whose name I believe to be Andrew, provided a unfortunately less than pleasurable experience. We waited in line for 20 minutes, while he was everywhere but the ice cream counter. If he had been there, I personally feel that the line could have moved a lot faster- especially because there was only one girl scooping! We had had a more than pleasant evening before coming to Graeters! If he works like this every night, I am surprised this location is still open. It's simple: Graeter's is hands down the best ice cream in the country. I grew up on this stuff and am probably a bit bused, but I've yet to find any ice cream that is better after a lifetime of searching. The black raspberry chip is my go to, but if I'm feeling especially hungry, I'll add a second dip of double chocolate chip. Graeter's is a dense, flavorful ice cream, and the Oxford location is idyllic. We are lucky to have great ice cream near campus! read more

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! Chocolate chip my eye: more like chocolate chunky wonderfulness. They remove as much air from the ice cream as possible during the making. This is the richest, most luxurious ice cream you will ever taste in your life. The taste alone is amazing. Then the rich, creamy feel in your mouth makes you want to jump up and down like a kid hearing the jingle of the ice cream truck coming down the street. So glad there isn't one of these close to where I live. I once ate a dozen hot Krispy Kreme as it was around the corner from my house. Graeter's, they would know me by first name. So happy that this AMAZING Cincinnati legend made its ways to Oxford Ohio! I have to be honest, I was a little skeptical initially because I wasn't sure if it would be just like Cincinnati locations. Let's just say I was pleasantly surprised & it surpassed my expectations! The store is bright and clean. They have lots of seating and it has the quintessential look of the rest of their stores. The employees are so friendly! They greet you when you come in and when you leave. I was really impressed with the service! And of course the DELICIOUS ice cream! It is so rich in flavor, creamy and just all around delicious! I'm so glad residents of Oxford finally get to enjoy this Cincinnati staple!
