Like what you would expect, you can find all manner of furniture, decoration and houseware you need or impulsively decide to buy. I didn't need anything, per se, but I nonetheless came away with $200 worth of stuff -- mostly picture frames, wicker bins and other odds and ends. A few other things I noticed on my trip: * The parking was easy to come by. And if you go early on a weekday, you can find a relatively close spot. * Don't skip on the "scratch and dent" section by the registers. I was able to find a frame for much less than what it would cost new. * The food options have expanded as well. Those heart cookies are delicious! IKEA has a bit of nostalgia with it, reminding me of when I furnished my first apartments. It was fun to find items that will work for me now too.

Alyson and Norinder - I may have spelled that wrong - were wonderful. The other Home Depots I have been to said that they didn't carry the type of French doors that I wanted. Clearly that wasn't the case. Also, we were looking for a screen door that had a certain kind of screen. Castleton didn't have it, but Alyson called another Home Depot - they had it and she had to put it behind the desk, so we could go pick it up. I had been to two other Home Depots whose employees didn't offer to do that, so I was especially impressed with that level of customer service. Also, the phone tree is very short and you can actually talk to a person very quickly. The people working at the front customer service desk are always very helpful too. Employees also seem to like to be there. That generally starts at the top, so it must be a well-managed location.

There was no clue that a residential mower maybe going to a residential neighborhood before loading it on a semi which was realized we can't get a semi to your house. Now it's sitting at that companies hub while I wait for another carrier who waits for the original carrier to deliver it to them and maybe sometime in the future deliver it to me. Oh and you can't just tell them to cancel delivery and pick up from the store directly. Apparently online purchases can not be transferred. The massive store is filled with fabulous home decor, plants, clothing and giftware. I think there may even be a little hardware scattered in there. There are several buildings including a greenhouse and outdoor garden center. The outdoor center is currently filled with Christmas trees. There is also a little cafe/coffee shop if you need some nourishment. I stopped by this week to check out the abundant supply of Christmas decor. Prices are high, but if you're a discerning shopper, you can find some deals. I like that I can find things here that you just don't see anywhere else. The staff is friendly and helpful, but you have to wait your turn for help because they are busy this time of year. I picked up an air plant and some bulbs to plant. I was tempted by STEM toys for my granddaughters. There's plenty of parking.

They do not run big outlet locations like Goodwill where they dump donations in huge bins for people to root through and damage. You can drop off items behind their store, or in off hours bring them into the store. They so not spend tons of money on fancy TV commercials and fancy stores. Their profits go to directly serve homeless people and those with substance addiction problems. I personally know one of the people they helped to turn their life around. Please make the little extra effort to go to their thrift store which is east of the super Walmart on 96th to shop and donate. Help this small organizarion continue to do good work in our community.

This location is on the same side of the road as the Walmart and in the same plaza as the Petco, Platos, and the Autoparts store. The staff are super nice and there are a lot of volunteers walking around as well. I have found several things that are new with tags (priced accordingly), tons of name-brand goods, and there is rarely that funky thrifted smell that permeates everything you get from the WMS. They have everything from clothes to furniture/household goods to really nice jigsaw puzzles. Everything is super easy to find. Prices here at the Mission Store are a little higher than places like Goodwill, but every purchase supports the Wheeler Mission by providing meals and funding for training to their residents. There are also hand-made candles and other wares that the residents make while staying at Wheeler for purchase. Once while shopping I noticed it was busier than normal and the associate explained that they allow Wheeler residents to come and shop for what they need to get back on their feet. COOL!

But really, how could you not? The name of this place is Menards! Anyway, I visited this Menards, thinking, "Me nards! Me nards!" over and over in my head as I went in search of some indoor plants. But what do you know: They must not have indoor plants in late fall, because I could find nary a one. They didn't even have any outdoor plants. Apparently, Menards is not the place to find plants of any kind when the weather turns cold. So I walked around to see if maybe they were hiding the plants somewhere else, and I came across aisles of pet products, Christmas trees, patio furniture, paint, and lots of other things. Menards seems to be a one-stop-shop for home improvement. Parking is plentiful, and it's easy to get on and off the interstate.

I appreciate the family-owned Wisconsin/Northwoods culture and look forward to the weekly ads. I have never had any issues with missing rebates or returns. The website is excellent, it even tells you what aisle and shelf to find an item on. Menards makes shopping fun.
