While it's more for the farmers and Beck's consumers, it was a good experience as a self-proclaimed "outsider." This event is an operation - and a very smooth one. Parking was well organized and volunteers in red polos pointed me in the right direction. We were immediately offered a ride to the main area on a golf cart. We got there just in time for lunch, and there was already a long line - but it went fast! Most efficient buffet EVER. Oh, and did I mention it's FREE - and delicious? Shoup's Catering in Frankfort pulls out all the stops - we're talking applesauce, potato salad, pasta salad, cucumber salad, pulled pork, chicken - the works. There are plenty of long tables within the warehouse to find a spot. From there, we popped over to listen to the President's Message - most of it was over my head but it's amazing how big of an operation Beck's is. After, we checked out the biotech building to get a better understanding of how Beck's grows hybrid corn and see it in the greenhouse nursery. Did I mention the free cold beverages and popcorn to munch on, too? Oh, and the lumberjack demonstrations. And tractor displays. And we didn't even go on the tractor tram tour around the property? What impressed me most was how efficient, well organized and welcoming this event was. We hopped off the golf cart upon arrival and someone from Beck's greeted us, personally welcomed us and shook our hand. Great customer service!
