As all my friends and relatives know, Menards is my favorite store. I've loved it since they opened the first Indy location in the former Target on Pendleton Pike back in the early 1990's. With many remodeling projects, I know I've saved tens of thousands of dollars over the years. I've joked that if they started carrying beer, I wouldn't need to shop anywhere else (they have Lottza Motta frozen pizza, what other hardware store can claim that?). I mostly go to the Fishers store now. I find the staff to be friendly and helpful and there's comraderie among them. I appreciate the family-owned Wisconsin/Northwoods culture and look forward to the weekly ads. I have never had any issues with missing rebates or returns. The website is excellent, it even tells you what aisle and shelf to find an item on. Menards makes shopping fun. read more

I had a terrible interview experience with the HR recruiter Luke Kulczak. I go in for the interview and he insisted on doing the interview at the front desk at the store standing up- never heard of an interview being conducted that way- he then precedes to roll his eyes every-time I answered a question, he was also on his phone at several points during the interview. It wasn't professional at all, it made for a bad first impression of the store not just as a store, but as a place to work. I must be broken, because whenever I see a Menards or hear someone say Menards, I immediately think about a guy getting kicked in the stones, exclaiming, "Oh! Me nards!" But really, how could you not? The name of this place is Menards! Anyway, I visited this Menards, thinking, "Me nards! Me nards!" over and over in my head as I went in search of some indoor plants. But what do you know: They must not have indoor plants in late fall, because I could find nary a one. They didn't even have any outdoor plants. Apparently, Menards is not the place to find plants of any kind when the weather turns cold. So I walked around to see if maybe they were hiding the plants somewhere else, and I came across aisles of pet products, Christmas trees, patio furniture, paint, and lots of other things. Visited store today. I'm a little surprised it doesn't have a higher rating. I bought a circular saw that I will not likely use many times so I wanted a low price. This had the best one. They also had the more expensive saws. I have also found this store to have the most options for cedar lumber. The people at the service desk have always been very helpful. They have a nice selection of Xmas items. The only thing I struggle with there sometimes, is finding what I'm looking. It likely is I visit a closer competitor more frequently, so I'm just as not familiar with the layout of Menards. There also seem to be fewer employees in the aisles that you can ask for help. The customer service left a lot to be desired When I walked up to check out the register person didn't even greet me. Didn't say anything the entire procedure and then didn't bother to turn the belt onto down the belt so I could bag it. Totally unpleasant. This store is usually better. I purchased this product at Menards in Quincy Illinois on June 29, 2025. The one I linked above is a piece of junk and I'm not sure why in the world it would even be sold in today's market. It doesn't do what it's supposed to do. It's supposed to allow someone with a 50 amp camper to be able to plug into a 30 amp service and be able to run anything in their camper they need to run. Obviously, you couldn't run everything at the same time but everything should still work. This is a piece of junk. Don't waste your time with this junk product. read more

Let me tell you about the most fabulous Menards experience I had over the weekend. For starters, I had a hayday in the garden center at this location. It was overflowing with both veggie and flower options and the prices were incredibly cheaper than Lowe's. For example, the weekend before, I was eyeing veggie packs (same size) at Lowes and they were $3.99 and here they were $1.99. So, clearly, I filled my cart to the rim - it was my only option. I also purchased an abundance of perennials and annuals to fill in the backyard. Everything was not only budget-friendly but in great condition. From there, I made my way to the paint section to match a cabinet paint project to a piece of Indigo textile from a trip. Braden was incredibly helpful and friendly throughout the experience. He helped us purchase four different paints, find the right shades, match the fabric and do it all with a smile. He seemed to truly care about the results. I often find myself dreading visiting the paint section elsewhere because the staff can be less than helpful or interested. Bravo and thank you, Braden! I haven't historically been a big Menards fan but this experience has me reconsidering and I'll definitely be back for this garden center. read more

What is up with picking up bags of mulch? My mother in law, who does not walk well, has picked up around 250 bags in the past 2 weeks. Her van can load about 25 per trip. While I have been helping her, I learned she has had to park her car, walk to the back of your store to make an order, then walk back to the front to pay for it, then to the car, then pull around to wait... This really makes me upset because there is an easy solution!!!!!! Put a register at your front gate!!!!!! Not to mention, she asked if she could pay for 50 bags and be back for the other half, then told no. We bought a new stove yesterday. Upon opening it we found a dent on the back and something broken & missing! When I contacted Menards with a picture, this was their reply. "Cabinet & Appliances Manager - Menard Inc. - FISHERS 1:17PM (7 hours ago) to me: "It is not part of the packing material. It is there to counterweight the appliance when the door is opened on the oven. The dent on the back does not effect the mechanics of the operation of the appliance. I stopped in this Menard's location just because I was in the area, and I was surprised how much I enjoyed shopping here. I seldom visit the Menard's location near my home, it's not my favorite place to shop. But this location was large, bright, and well organized. The aisles are clear, free of clutter, and large enough for two carts to pass without difficulty. Best of all, it was easy to find an employee if you need assistance. Employees were in every department, ready to answer questions and provide directions for customers. There were several check out lanes open so lines were very short. Rebate offer is poorly managed. A third of my rebate checks have been issued but not received. Process to resend lost check is onerous on the consumer and even costs the consumer money to request! This leaves me wondering about the integrity and customer focus of the company. Bottom line - don't count on your rebate. read more

I bought a crate and didn't know it was defective until it was opened. Called the store to hold for an exchange and they refused. This is very heavy and I needed help so couldn't come in until next day. If they wouldn't hold, I asked for discount and they refused. I made the pilgrimage to Menards (because it's no where near my house) (driving by Lowes, and Home Depot to get here)) to pick up additional blocks to increase the height of my firepit. I got everything I needed, and even picked up my 11% rebate form! I needed a little help finding the correct adhesive and grabbed an employee who happened to be walking by, and even through he was from a different department he took the time to help me out and walk me to the correct product. My African American daughter was just at Menards on 96th St in Indianapolis. The employees need to be more cautious about who they accuse of stealing. An employee told the Manager that she put something in her pocket. Not only is she no where near a thief (we raise our children w/morals and values as well), but the outfit that she has on, doesn't even have pockets. It's a one piece body suit and the sweater that she had on, didn't even have pockets. And for a purse, she only carries a small little clutch like wallet. And it's over stuffed w/credit cards, cash, business cards and receipts. Just came to pick up an online order. At the front of the store it had a sign saying it was at the back of the store, but I still struggled a bit to find it. Once finding it I was helped right away. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. Even got help putting the item in my car. I love menards. Typically save all my shopping for their 11% off everything. Who doesn't like free money. If you're looking for paint this place has a great paint section. Had a great time searching for paints for my new home. The associates at the desk made a point to ask how I was doing and if I needed anything. Great customer service! They have everything here you may need, from food, to movies, to paint, to appliances and much more! They also have great prices. The jingle definitely fits the store, "save big money when you shop menards." Also if you need boxes they have them and let you take them home. I was looking for a lot for my future move, and a woman at the customer service desk explained the whole process and was super helpful! You can take a cart and go around the store, look for the gray bins, and any broken down boxes you can take. I don't patronize Menards much. I prefer Home Depot or Lowe's, but I was in the area. The item I was looking for was listed at Menards so I went in to look for it. After quite a bit of wondering around and not finding it I decided to flag down an employee. Finding an employee was not an issue ,but getting one to acknowledge me was. I finally got one guys attention. Asked him about the item. He didn't think they had a display with the storm window I was looking for but as he walked down an isle he found the display. It offered no instructions on how It was installed or what parts it came with. So I followed him over to a computer where he looked it up. The computer description also offered no instructions or parts list. I asked him if the windows were returnable. He said yes with a 25% restocking fee. This place gets 4 stars if only for the variety of things you will find here. Menards seems cheaper and is WAY more than a typical Lowes or Home Depot. We came in to do a quick once around in the garden center for pavers. We had our two children with us (3 yo & 2yo). We were told that we had to wear masks to shop. Overall one of the better menards. Bill In pluming was super helpful! Many times you go into these type of hardware/ home improvement stores and the employees aren't very willing to help or just truly don't know, but the staff is pretty friendly here. If you find someone that isn't from a specific department they will help you find the person you need. Overall satisfied, only thing I would recommend is more employees as it's hard to find someone to help at times. read more
