What a difference a week and mason makes…read more We're in the process of finalizing our backyard, and it's time to select the pavers. After visiting another locale two weeks ago, we came here this past Saturday. What a difference. We were greeted, by Alex, immediately upon coming in. We explained what we were looking to do, he then came out with us and showed us the many options outside, as well as some recommendations and ideas for both the floor tile, and wall tile. His enthusiasm for what he does was also evident. Answered all of our questions, and provided additional feedback we hadn't considered. We walked away knowing more about our project than we did when we came in. Alex didn't just point us outside. Further, when my wife went back in to grab a catalog, he used her name. This is the sort of thing you want to see from a business. Unfortunately, not enough of them bother. I've been told by our contractor that their prices are competitive, but this is not the reason for this review. This is a business that "gets it". We found our mason supplier, one more thing to check off the box. If you're looking for pavers, this is your place.

Natural marble evokes images of nature and even the ocean. Quartzite can emit light and allow backlighting on a countertop. If you're interested in that type of thing. For me just seeing light through quartzite is amazing. The one thing I suggest is 1) go well before they close - they don't appreciate last minute browsers coming in at closing time. 2) if you buy - nark your piece or inspect before your fabricator pucks up. Because some slabs come from a group - make sure you choose and mark the one you want.

I bought an exhaust fan for my new wood fired oven from Volko. Later, when I thought I either overheated and ruined the fan motor or the fan motor was defective they walked me through the options for testing the motor and started the warranty process just in case the motor was defective. Because the fan is on a high roof and difficult to get to I went ahead and bought a new start capacitor and a new motor to only send the repair person up there once.. As it turned out, the motor was fine. The fan was turning very slowly because a paper towel got sucked up the flue and was dragging on the fan slowing the motor way down. YAY, I did not need the new motor. Volco was great. I was allowed to ship back the expensive motor for a refund and received the refund very promptly. Capacitors, of course, are never refundable. The fan works great and keeps my covered and mostly enclosed patio smoke free. I will never deal with any other company for high temperature exhaust fans and fan parts. THANKS VOLKO!!!!

These disruptions affected both my workday and our daily routine. These issues were not due to the installers themselves, who were professional and courteous despite being given incorrect information from the office. However, the complete lack of follow-through from managers Alex and Chris made everything worse. They never sent a quality assurance specialist to double-check the work, and I was never given advance notice of when the installers would be returning... they just showed up unannounced. Despite several attempts to contact both Alex and Chris directly to resolve these problems, I never received a single callback. Their poor communication and lack of accountability turned a bad experience into an unacceptable one. I would not recommend Power Window Treatments to anyone, especially families. Save yourself the headache and stress, it's better just to go with a company that actually follows through on their commitments and save your self all hemming and ha-ing and just go with a better company.

UPDATE II: having had an exceptional experience with our…read moresalesperson, Nick Giberti, when looking to install laminate flooring in my daughter's new home, we contacted him again when looking to have carpeting installed in a basement Office/playroom and a sunroom......as was our experience with Nick the first go around, he came through with flying colors once again, this time......in coming to the house to measure and to give us an estimate, he discovered that he basement floor had asbestos tiling on the floor that needed to be removed priro to the installation of the carpet.....what we thought was going to be an insurmountable hurdle, Nick took it all in stride and recommended an asbestos abatement company that came in two days later and did a fabulous job at removing all of teh asbestos tiles at a most reasonable price......the floor is now all ready for the carpet installation.......once again, Nick Giberti came through and clearly went beyond your customary salesperson......

Everyone else was an embarrassment…read more Let me start with the only positive: the two young guys who actually installed the carpet worked hard, efficiently, and did a fantastic job. They showed up, got it done, and were genuinely excellent. This review is not about them. Everyone else at Empire Today? An absolute disaster from start to finish. Strike 1 -- The sales rep. He called and asked if he could come early for the in-home consultation. I said no -- I was on a work Zoom call. He showed up 15 minutes early anyway. You called. I said no. You came anyway. That's the level of respect Empire Today has for your time right out of the gate. Strike 2 -- Installation day (Saturday). Per their own policy, they're supposed to call the morning of with a time window. No call. I called their call center around 9:30 AM, who called the installer -- voicemail. Called the dispatcher -- voicemail. "Someone will get back to you in an hour." Two to three hours later, still nothing. Finally a manager calls with the explanation: "unforeseen circumstances." No. That's not what happened. I was a contractor. I understand actual unforeseen circumstances -- a guy gets hurt, a truck breaks down, a job hits a hidden problem. I get it. Things happen. But that's not what this was. You overbooked your crew on a job that was too big for the time window, and my Saturday paid the price for your scheduling failure. Own it. I asked them to send another crew -- "we don't have one available." I asked for a discount -- "we can't do that." Meanwhile, if I had been unavailable, I'd have been hit with a 25% cancellation fee. But Empire Today can blow up your whole day with zero accountability. They offered to reschedule to Easter Sunday. I said absolutely not -- I'm spending Easter with my family, and frankly, your installers should be spending it with theirs too. The fact that Empire Today would even suggest that tells you everything about how they value people -- customers and employees. Strike 3 -- The reschedule (Tuesday). I took a full day off work. Again, no 8 AM call with a time window -- their own policy, ignored again. Same dispatcher runaround. Same non-answers. The installers finally showed up at 5:45 PM. The grand finale. After all of it -- two days blown, hours on the phone, a Saturday and a full vacation day gone -- the manager agreed to credit my card $50 as compensation. That $50 has never shown up (ts been almost a month). To summarize: I paid in full, blew two days, spent hours chasing people who wouldn't pick up their phones, got stood up on a Saturday, was offered Easter Sunday as a make-good, fought to get someone through my door before dark on a Tuesday, and was promised a $50 credit that never materialized. The carpet looks great. The two installers deserve a raise and an apology for being sent in at 5:45 PM. Empire Today as an organization deserves worse than one star -- but Google won't let me go lower.
