Last summer it was sweltering hot, with most days listed as "above average" and many of THEM at 90 degrees or above. By Labor Day, the weather person said "If you thought THIS summer was hot wait a few years until you remember this summer as the last cool one we had". We have a large Western-facing bow window that was getting direct sun. We put that window in 27 years ago, and it worked perfectly fine. Opened, closed, clear glass, nice screens. Really, a very nice bow window without a single problem. I didn't have window treatments because I like a plain look and it's a living room, not a bedroom. But I felt like I was under a magnifying glass, with the sun concentrating in our living room. The air conditioner would not stop cranking, and it was only getting moderately cool. All my neighbors have the same problem, but solved it with thick drapery which, aside from being expensive (4K for one neighbor!) was just dark. I was out shopping with my parents for window treatments, and my father said "Just get Renewal by Andersen Low-E glass". Now my dad is a frugal guy AND a builder. I couldn't BELIEVE he was recommending replacing perfectly good windows, but he explained "They are the best windows out there, I only use Andersen, and look, my house doesn't get hot". And it doesn't. Well one more hot day later, and I call the Andersen people. They have fliers, commercials, social media ads...I just found one of those numbers and made the call. I might have said "I am roasting alive in my own house". Next week, a consultant, Vito Anasto, comes to the house, and he has his box of samples, and a heat lamp. He was so down to earth, and didn't try to "sell" me anything. In fact, I started talking about OTHER windows, and he asked if I had any idea what windows cost, and I hadn't. So he gave me a ballpark figure and I quickly agreed that we should just discuss the one bow window. It was higher than I expected, but I appreciated his honesty. So he explained how the Low-E windows worked, and I was already getting excited. Then, out comes the heat lamp. Vito said "I usually don't do this demonstration, but since it says here 'Client reports being roasted alive' let me show you exactly how these work". So he takes the heat lamp, opens one of my existing bows, and holds the heat lamp outside. I touch the inside of my glass, and almost burn my hand. Then we decamp to the table, and he has samples. We do the same thing with each of the samples, and with the top-of-the-line sample, it's like a trivet. Cool to the touch! I was SOLD. Vito explained that he doesn't have to really sell the windows, the product sells itself; he's just there to figure out which of the local and national deals--which are ongoing--will help me get the best price. And after some searching and playing on his computer, out comes a price. It was higher than I thought it would be, but it was one price. No add-ons, no surprises later...one and done. I don't understand why this business thinks it's a good idea to solicit business by putting adverts in people's mailbox. That alone is an annoying thing to do.. but to make the advertisements intentionally look handwritten and personalized- as if it was some kind of report specific to your home.. and then to make it seem as if there are numerous problems? At the very least that is false advertisement and a scummy, unethical thing to do- at worst that is bordering on criminally fraudulent. Who are you expecting to fool with that anyway? The elderly? Older homeowner who could be easily tricked and manipulated? My warning to other consumers and my complaint concern aggressive and unethical sales tactics, not the quality of the window products. On approximately July 3rd we I came home to my mother-in-law's home where I was visiting, and she told me she had someone coming over to discuss new windows. This surprised me since we had just ordered new blinds for her windows and her windows were all in good shape. I think ordering the blinds created a sales cold call; we have never figured out how this salesman got her number. But it is her house, so I said I would hear him out. He arrived at 6 pm and did not leave until after 10 pm despite us asking him to leave. We would tell him we would think about it, and he would get angry and say that he had now spent all this time ( because he wouldn't leave ) at the house. My 89-year-old mother-in-law was frightened of him. The windows, he said, would be $140,000, but if she signed up today, they would be $98,000. She told him she did not want to decide today, but he kept insisting she just sign his iPad for him to leave. The iPad was a contract for complete replacement of all the windows in her home and an application for a loan for the entire job. She never provided her SS#, a credit card, or her birthday because she does not remember where her card is and can not remember he ss or BD, but somehow she qualified for the loan anyway. After she unknowingly signed up for all the windows and a $98,000 loan, he finally left. She was exhausted and scared. We asked him to email us all the docs she had signed. He was very reluctant, stating " privacy issues"; however, with her insistence and because she does not have email, he did the next day. We, of course, exercised our rights to cancel in 3 days and followed all the necessary steps to do so. My mother-in-law is still worried about the salesman from Renewal by Anderson. We just keep thinking about what if we were not visiting her at that time. She would be stuck. read more

He measured, said there'd be no problem. Took my check for the entire amount. That was a Wednesday. On Friday man #3 came for the definitive measurements. He said job could not be done because Andersen didn't make the size I needed. He cancelled the order. It is now 2 weeks later. Andersen has had use of my money since the Thursday when they cashed the check. BEWARE. Andersen is happy to make promises they can't keep; postdate any payment you make. read more

I had a very disappointing experience with Renewal by Andersen of Long Island. I was quoted over $22,000 for a single ProVia exterior entry door (not even an Andersen-manufactured door), after being shown an inflated "original price" of nearly $30,000 followed by a large so-called discount. After doing my own due diligence and comparing quotes from other reputable installers, it became clear that this price was dramatically higher, more than double the fair market cost for the same door and scope of work. The contract also lacked meaningful itemization. The pricing structure felt designed to create urgency and pressure rather than transparency. The sales rep pressured me to make a decision on the spot, offering a 10% discount if I signed immediately--which barely made a dent in the total cost. As a single mom, that's not a decision I could or would make under pressure. I didn't appreciate the aggressive sales tactics or the lack of flexibility. I ultimately hired a small local company and had the entire job done for less than half the cost, with great results. It's been a year, and Renewal by Andersen still calls me repeatedly from different numbers, harassing me for a sale I clearly declined. I'm also shocked by the negative reviews! (Let me just say, we're very picky about work done at our house!) We had every window and our sliding glass door replaced. The job was done in the time frame, neat and clean, with no damage to any moldings around the previous windows. The team contracted was just amazing-they took care in covering the floors and furniture. Every window looks amazing-and works great! Our patio sliding glass door is my favorite-tinted to keep inside from getting too hot! It's certainly an expensive upgrade but we're so happy with the quality and workmanship. I am writing this review to express my extreme disappointment with Renewal by Andersen. On June 19, 2025, we purchased a front door and screen--a very expensive investment. On July 28, we received a call to schedule the installation for August 6th at 8:00 AM. Then, on Monday, August 4, we received another call asking to move the installation to Thursday, August 7, because the crew was stuck on another job. We agreed to reschedule. However, on August 6, we received yet another call--this time saying the door was not in and they would need to cancel the installation. I had already taken the day off work and made arrangements for my dog, so this last-minute cancellation was incredibly disruptive and disappointing. My biggest concern: how do you suddenly not have a door that was scheduled for installation? This shows a clear lack of organization and professionalism. For the amount of money we are paying, I expected much better communication and follow-through. Then, on Wednesday evening (August 6) at 8:01 PM, I received an email confirming installation for the next day, August 7. I stayed home again, assuming the issue had been resolved. At 10:40 AM, I got a call saying not only was the door still unavailable--it was never even ordered. I am beyond frustrated and completely unsatisfied with how this has been handled. I spoke with the office and was told I could either cancel the order or they could expedite the new one. But at this point, the financing has already gone through, so cancelling might be complicated. And if I go with another company, I could be hit with new tariffs and fees, leaving me at their mercy. This experience has been a nightmare. I expected far better from a company with Andersen's reputation. At the very least, I hope this review helps others understand what they may be getting into. Salesmen Steven Sciandra came to our home to discuss replacing 21 windows & 1 bay window. At first he seemed like a jolly green giant, full of knowledge & genuine gesture. What started out as a hopeful venture quickly took a turn for the worse. Long story short, Steven excused himself for a moment to call his boss (quote; "to let him know how the meeting was going and to get us a discounted rate & bottom line price".) He came back into our home with the number 17,000 for 1 bay window! WTF! My husband and I saw on our security system cameras he made NOT ONE phone call while on our property. With that astronomical (bang you over the head price) my husband kindly thanked Steven for his time but declined moving forward with his company. Steven then, while taking deep angry breaths, paced around our dining room table implementing nonverbal scare tactics. I made the mistake of allowing them to come to my house the first time to give me a quote and for the last 15 years I have been hassled by these people time and time again. The prices are exorbitant. The Helpers are stupid and the managers are clowns. This review could've easily been avoided if they would've listened to me. If the quality of work is anything like their listening skills it's not worth paying them to do it for you. Do NOT give them any of your information or they will continue to contact you until you move or change your telephone number. These people are dense. 10/10 would not recommend. Saw some bad reviews but I chose this company for the quality work I've seen on other homes in my travels. My experience is my experience. My salesman Marlon M. was very nice & informative. He came to me on a Sunday. Which I appreciated immensely. Of course he asked about doing all the windows & doors but I didn't feel pressured at all. I only wanted the sliding patio door at this time. Although in retrospect I should've replaced my front screen door also. But that's a job for another time. Sooooo I received financing through them at a price affordable to me. Appointments were made for final measurements and I was kept in contact through emails, phone calls & text messages. There were 2 snafus. Snafu 1: The first was the day before installation my appointment was cancelled in the early afternoon because a frame part didn't come in. I was disappointed because I had to take a day off of work. But I understand things happen. Then Amanda called me back later in the afternoon to inform me the truck just arrived with part on the truck. Yay! Crisis averted! On the day of installation Andres came at 8am promptly & introduced himself. Then informed me of Snafu 2: The screen didn't come in with the door. They'll have to come back. No one informed me of this prior to speaking to Andres. But he's here for the main part of the door installation so it's not a deal breaker for me. I know getting parts, lumber, microchips & etc. have been very hard to come by. So I'm not taking it personal. Just a minor snafu. Andres & his partner came masked up & began plastic prep on the floors & cordoned off the area they needed to work in. They were clean & professional. When they left you wouldn't even know I had wood & plastic cutting that went on. No debris whatsoever was left. And my door looks AMAZING!! My neighbor yelled over the fence Wow! It looks great! I love it! I said me too! I'm extremely happy with the outcome. Also I noticed the noise level is nil when it's closed. We were shopping for windows and saw the ads. A salesman showed up with his videos and models and proceeded to tell us how great the windows were because they were not made from vinyl, they were made from FIBREX! (Which we also found out was nothing more than vinyl mixed with sawdust.) Then he gave us a quote... which was hilarious! We said we would let him know and then he said this great price is only good for today, as it was a special discount. We finally got him to leave. When I was shopping around for replacement windows for our guest room, I inadvertantly put my name in a deceptive web site that sent my information out to quite a few vendors, most of whom were not on our list. We started hearing from RBA. Weeks later, we did get our windows from another company. RBA kept calling us. We told them twice that we were no longer in the market. Today I told them a third time. They always thanked me for letting them know. As of this writing, I have got four calls from them today alone. There is high pressure, and there is something beyond. If this doesn't stop, I will check to see if Verizon can block their number. Epilogue: Yesterday, Antonio, a manager, got through to me and promised to fix the problem. After my 5th call yesterday, the calls stopped. They need to look at their policies for followup, but I appreciate the effort to fix this. read more

I loathe this company. I've received a ton a promotion material from them by junk email and junk mail. I attempted to contact them by phone & check their website to get an idea of price range but they would not provide any useful information. I had no choice but to set up an appointment to get an idea of price. The salesperson was friendly. He then checked all my windows to tell me that every single window needs to be replaced. No they do not. He gave me prices for what he explained to be the absolute best windows in the market. They also seemed to be the highest price and least value. I continued to explain that I am not interested in buying the best windows money can buy since my home is humble and I do not intend to live there forever, but they do not have other options. His sales tactics were extremely forceful. They offer a small discount but only if you commit on the spot. They will not give you an opportunity to think about it, or get other quotes. Obviously my answer is no. They may have saved us both time if they would simply provide information on their site. I do not appreciate their sales tactic. Now I continue to get unsolicited junk in the mail and email and now get messages on here after writing this review. I just want them to leave me alone. The option to unsubscribe from them emailing list is a false link that asks for your zip code in attempt to sell you windows. Save your time. The only reason you should contact them is if you don't mind over paying for windows. read more

Hopefully, this will be my last update on this matter. After a few weeks, two very friendly technicians (Alex and Filip) were able to make some updates to the windows. According to the agreement with the company, they agreed to: Remove the old locks and install new locks and keepers for 12 windows. Replace the short gaskets and add h blocks to any windows necessary. Seal any gaps in old caulking with clear silicone. Shim locks if needed. Recap the triple Double Hung window in ivy green capping. They did replace short gaskets, added h blocks, and sealed windows outside (apparently it was never done). The locking mechanism turned out to be the wrong size, and honestly, I don't think it was needed. The recap of the window was never done. I guess I will have to wait until next winter to see if any of these will work. I am just worried that the only solution I will have is to replace all the windows. read more

They have extremely pushy salesmen that do not know how to 'close their mouth and open their ears' to the customer. They dont even want to listen to the customer but just keep 'sales talking' pushing more and more!! Not to mention being extremely expensive! My family had 5 windows and one set of sliding doors installed by RBA in 2019. What they're good at is Pressure Sales Tactics. What they're not as good at is customer service and putting in windows correctly. One window was put in crooked and I repeated told the workers and their manager Jorge and they insisted they were installed properly. Of course after the foam sets for 2 days and I open the window, it's off center and tilted and has a hard time closing - so to avoid problems I leave it closed permanently . It didn't help that all of the workers spoke little to no English. The only guys who were fluent in English were the sales guy and the other guy who came along with him to take measurements - but be assured that's the last time you see those men. Anyway, I called several times about my window and the guy came back once to look at it and never came back again to address it. Then the pandemic hit and everything was put on hold. But, they had the gall to keep sending many solicitations via mail & email. I put them on a "do not contact" list. I put up this review at this time as a warning to avoid them. read more

We decided to use Renewal by Andersen because the other contractors who installed our other Anderson windows did not work with them anymore. We had a lovely meeting with the sales person John and we were super specific with what we wanted. The exact, identical Andersen windows that we got a few years ago put in downstairs in our home. Same finishes (handles, openers, etc.) He took the order and we waited for the date of installation - today. Our window was from 8:30-10:30, I called at 9:10 and Anthony (our contact) said they were stuck in traffic. Then I called again at 10:45 and they were still 40 minutes away. I know NY traffic is bad but give me a break. They showed up at 12:00pm. The guys came in and immediately told me that oh did I know, they only had 3 windows, we ordered 4. No, no one called me to tell me that because if they did I would have rescheduled the entire installation because with Covid and the mess I only would like people in my home one time. So there was nothing he could do about it then so they started on the installation. It took from about 12:15-3:45 which wasn't too bad. They did do a nice job with cleanup. During clean up I noticed that 2 of them weren't wearing shoe covers so I had to clean all my upstairs floors after they left because we are a shoe free house. I signed really quick because I was in a huge rush to get back to work and was already late for a meeting. I already was not participating most of the day because it was so loud with the drilling and everything else. My husband got home and took one look at the windows and: 1. They didn't install the windows that we bought (they are not the same ones as the rest of the house, they don't have the same finishes or knobs or anything. 2. They removed our 100+ year old window moldings and replaced them with crappy wood. 3. When the actual install has huge gaps all around the whole frame (please see photos) big enough to stick your fingers in. 4. No one knows what happened to the 3rd window and no one has called back after several calls to tell us where the other window is and when it's coming. They asked me to write a review and gave me their card, so there it is, and NOT HAPPY at all with the service received. read more

Someone once told me, "Cheap is expensive." Anderson isn't cheap but their quality and customer service is exceptional. Installers did incredible work and afterwards there was a small issue with one of the blinds. While the salesman was initially not responsive, once I escalated they responded immediately and took care of everything. I will definitely use them again. read more

I am not happy at all with Renewal by Andersen's window replacement. I was replacing 27 windows and they only sent 3 people. In the online videos they show more than 3 people. The installation was only supposed to take 2 days. They took 3 days and even said they might need a 4th day, but we told them we can't take any more time off from work so they rushed to finish the bay window and stayed about an extra 3 hours. Andersen is cheap to only send 3 people. We didn't even get a demonstration on how to use the windows and they even threw out the windows stickers for my second floor and attic without even asking us and I wanted them. Andersen also had one kitchen encasement window on backorder and it took 4 months after the original installation to come and be installed. Andersen also sent us 4 gliding windows with full screens when we asked for half screens. We also asked for the sliding window in the bathroom in the attic to come with an obscure window and they sent us a regular window. One kitchen window had a screen that had a very wide gap and looks bad. They fixed these issues 4 months later. All these mistakes are unacceptable. The installers also left a lot of windows not clean after the installation and we had to keep asking them to clean the windows. We thought Andersen would send Andersen employees and not some third party company which we were not happy with at all. We went with Andersen instead of Home Depot because we thought Andersen had a good reputation, but we were mistaken. The installers also caused a lot of damage to the window frames like dents and cracks and scratches and tried to cover up the damage with silicone gel which looks really bad. Andersen sent some painters to fix this, but they only fixed some of the windows. Andersen refused to come after which shows they don't take their job serious to fix their damage. The wood for the bay window also looked very cheap and we thought it had mold on it, but when we looked closer we saw it was a weird design in the wood. I am not sure how Andersen uses such low quality wood. Also some of the wood in the frames had marks on it that don't look good. Also one couch got silicone on it and was damaged. Also they got purple paint on one wall. There was also damage to the outside of our house. There were many cracks in the decorative window borders outside. They fixed these 4 months later. They also ripped part of the paint when removing the plastic covers. They also didn't clean all the debris outside well. Andersen sent one inspector after we complained about all the issues and he was rushing and at one point didn't want to take anymore pictures and said he had enough. After 1 month we asked what's the situation and Andersen asked to send another inspector which is ridiculous since they already sent one and made us wait 1 month for no reason. The second inspector was very rude and called us fools and refused to give us his name and refused to take any more pictures. This is horrible customer service and unheard of. We had sent over 100 pictures of all the damage using the application they emailed us. The third inspector came and then weeks later a manager called us and said he would call us back and he didn't. Then we received a call to schedule the final installation. We have been living the past 15 months without any shades in our house and everyone can see inside our house and this is a security risk while we wait for Andersen to fix our molding issues. Our house is also a mess the past 15 months since we didn't move things back to normal and our bed headboard isn't even in place and we are very uncomfortable waiting for Andersen to fix these issues. The windows also have extra silicone gel coming out of some spots. The windows are also harder to open compared to an old window. I also don't like how the top of the window doesn't have something to pull the window down. One window is already starting to fail and is falling a little when you open it. We should've went with a real window company like Pella like everyone else. Complained to BBB-don't care. read more

But, it seems the business model at the Farmingdale location is to take a customers order and just do whatever they want with it then bill you for their assumptions. Literally, disregarded specific instruction to the Salesman, and sent an order to production because I guess maybe they needed to meet their numbers for the month. If it's not a "like for like" replacement do yourself a favor and go elsewhere... Buyer Beware! "Measuring Techs" can't measure and offer no technical advice...add no value to the process. The sales guy who knows the detail you gave them is removed from the process and you are left with a guy (Andrew) who does the car salesman routine .... a lot of fast talking with made up numbers. And, when you ask to see the specific numbers to understand overall cost on a fix for the problem he loses his cool and starts to yell in the phone using words like "dumb" "ridiculous" etc. I guess this is to intimidate the customer or frustrations from forgetting which lie he told last. Great way to treat people handing your company large checks for what they thought they were buying from your Salesman. Their internal communication is terrible and "Customer Service/Management" conveniently avoid any accountability at every step of the process. They don't care much about returning customers because the focus is to just churn and burn. It's all about getting you on the hook for a bill. Do not call these guys if you have a sensitive deadline and or working on a large job. They are incredibly unprofessional and care nothing about your home and or impact to your family. Buyer beware! All the low ratings can't all be lies. I gave a nice Salesman a second chance based on his presentation and got burned really good... Lesson learned. We've been doing quite a bit of home remodeling in the last few months, and had a sliding door that desperately needed to be replaced. The one that was there was the original from when the house was built, so it was old and pretty nasty. We decided to go with Renewal by Andersen because we liked their door best. I also liked that they would do everything, so I didn't need to deal with delivery and then finding a separate contractor to install the door. It was important to me the installation would be warranted too in case something went wrong. I've been through the contractor thing and sometimes it goes well and sometimes not, and I didn't want to end up in one of those situations where I couldn't get anyone on the phone of there ended up being problems. The installation went great. Luis was the head installer and did a great job. He explained everything they were doing and they did such a great job cleaning up when they were done. We were having the floors done at the same time and they made sure to work around that and worked well with the floor guy. They were so accommodating and professional! They were meticulous about the installation itself, paying close attention to details. I never felt they were rushing or scrimping. The company made the whole process painless from beginning to end. I'm so happy with the door itself... it is so much nicer than the door we had before and the room is warmer. Plus I love the kick lock for added security. Question , ARE THESE ACTUALLY "ANDERSON WINDOWS ?" I get mailers from these guys all the time. I do not like what I'm seeing in the reviews. I personally hate replacement windows.They are not the same quality as the Andersons that I put in my dormer. I have alpha windows that have a lifetime warranty. Just try to find them. We got our 1st floor windows replaced on March 28th and it has been great, Jonathan and his Dreamers group showed up promptly on the rainiesT, miserable day ready to work, they made sure to tape off the walkways and seal off the part of the room that was not being used to protect the furniture. Our old windows were so drafty you could feel the chill when you would sit down. These new windows don't let any draft in, I feel just that alone has saved us money on the oil bill! They are way more soundproof and they pop out and are so easy to clean. When Jonathan and his Dreamers group were done installing he went over all the windows with me making sure the mechanism worked and noticed a couple windows had minor nicks on the frame from the when they were shipped. They are coming back today to replace those parts. All in all great experience. read more

Buyer Beware, horrifying outcome, deceptive marketing materials. White windows are not white but "Anderson White" which is a grey tone that looks tired and old. I purchased $40,000 worth of 'white' windows for my 2nd floor full renovation that look like they are from the 1990's. New walls, new windows, subfloors, floors, materials, etc. The paint scheme is Benjamin Moore white dove, the trim is Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace, the windows are supposed to be white. The sample we looked at and all other Anderson windows I have ever seen are white (including my 'old' Anderson windows that were replaced). My very expensive new windows are grey. The installation was great, the finishing work is great, the windows are grey. Had I known their windows were grey, I would have purchased Pella who had WHITE WINDOWS. It's a heart-breaking lie perpetuated by RBA, their sales person Steven Sciandra, and their false marketing materials. My investment in my home is a very expensive waste of money that will cost me at the resale point as well. read more

On July 6th we had our windows done and I came home to find the window was damaged during the job and would need to be replaced (huge crack through the middle of the window). Nobody gave us a date of repair and they just left us with the damaged front bay window saying someone would handle it at some point. This pushed back other work we wanted to do before moving in and ultimately pushed back our move in date into our new home. July 10th came and I Did not hear from anyone about a date that the window would be repaired, even after I noticed that the new front window installed by this company was leaking while it was raining in two different parts of the window framing separate from the crack in the window that I was waiting to hear back on. This was not an issue before I had these windows installed. I had to cancel my painter and other workers coming to the house because the window was causing my walls to get wet which was also not an issue before this install. This entire process became a nightmare and all I wanted was some customer service and to be reassured that this would be taken care of. After spending the entire days of the 10th and 11th trying to contact anyone Via phone and multiple emails, I finally got in touch with an employee on the 11th at 9pm and he said he had no idea why nobody was answering my calls. They sent a crew to patch up the window to stop the leak on July 12th. The crew came and were visibly upset that they had to come back and did not believe me when I told them the window was leaking. They let me know they couldn't replace the cracked window because it still had to be made, but they would try to address the leak. They finished the patch work and I noticed there was a huge gap between the window frame and my wall and I asked them if someone would calk in between to make it look nicer and he responded that I could do it myself if that's what I wanted, which I get was part of their job. Finally on the 31st of July the new window was installed. As a new home owner renewal by Anderson came highly recommended by several people. I had planned to use them for this job and others in the future, but after the amount of money I was charged along with the headaches and issues this company caused me I could never confidently use them again without worrying, and could never recommend them to friends or family. read more
