Had an amazing haircut here for only $12. And they threw in a wash for free! Conveniently located in Jackson Heights. My Haircutter really took his time to get to know my hair and spent time on my fade to get it just how I wanted. The end result was one of the best haircuts I've ever had and my fade really lasted. Was in search of a new place to cut my hair and I'm so glad to have found this place! It's conveniently next to the train station. I usually get a some rare haircut for a Asian female: the undercut. Most Asian places I've been to tend to cut my hair differently from a given reference picture. I'm often told that I'll look like a guy if I cut it too short... which I clearly don't mind, but they ignore my words anyways. I was so surprised and delighted when I got here and the lady who cut my hair knew exactly what an undercut was and didn't question or suggest a cut "more fitting for a girl." Cut came out to be $17 ($22 with tip). Price is pretty great, maybe higher for the area but no doubt better quality. Tried my best to show some before and after pics. Am very satisfied and probably will be my go-to place from now on. read more

a long overdue review of this salon. First of my hair dresser is kimmie. She is usually on a 30 minute wait as most of the people walking in are looking for her expertise in coloring and hair cutting for men, women and children. You tell her what you want and she makes it happen for you. I have been at this salon for about 3 yrs and although i always like a guy to cut my hair, this lady knows what she is doing. Fairly prices cut and basic wash $12. If you want a massage, wash and blow i think its $17 but i suppose that for people that have a lot of time in their hands. Be aware parking is difficult, you are better off taking the train. #7 train, E, F trains are nearby. Sure you can get a haircut with the other hair dressers but if u want the best Kim is it! This is where I get my hair cut regularly. I awkwardly don't know my haircutter's name, but her chair is to the right and as far back as the chairs go. To be frank, the reason I go here is, basically, racism. I generally trust that I don't have to tell a Chinese lady that much about how to cut a Chinese guy's hair. And it works! Also, she's Malaysian Chinese like me, so I can code switch a bit and talk about food like I'm used to. $12 haircut for men includes a shampoo and blow dry. They'll try to put gel on your hair, and if that's not what you want, you'll probably have to keep rejecting it. I usually tip up to $15. Then, it is super convenient to the subway so I just shake my hair out a bit and then continue on with my day from my regular stop. read more

I have been coming to Tiffany's for years now ever since she cut my hair short one time. I love how she knows how to make the back hair look so nice and precisely well done. She is very friendly and also always smiling even when there are already a lot of people waiting. The shampoo option is also good with the small massage that comes with it. Prices are not that bad for a booming business, I'd still say its very affordable and just fair. I won't let anyone else touch my hair but her. read more

Definitely needed another haircut since my last. However, I wasn't about to spend over $60 again. With the recommendation of family, decided to give this place a try. I asked for Carmen. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she listened. It's so hard to find a hair stylist who listens cause they can get "scissor happy" and cut away. She first cut my hair. Then got my hair washed from another woman. She also massaged my scalp and my shoulders and my back. Whaaat. Back to getting my hair cut. Carmen dried my hair, cut, dried, cut and repeated several times for the different sections. I like that she took her time to get it right. My haircut is short bob. Cost $25 excluding tip. Most likely will be coming back to her. read more

Have I ever met a person like Kim! She's not your typical hair dresser !!! I'm just feel so lucky to find Her, I can't believe!! She listened closely to my wants, along with that she gave good recommendations herself (she's got a good eye. I believe she've been doing it for a long time) she takes her time, no rush. This Chinese hair salon is pretty good. They have a loyal customer base. A lot of Filipinos. Very cheap considering. Last time I got my haircut a few weeks ago, I got a wash, cut & blowdry for $20 My cousin [guy] got the same thing for $18. If your hair is thick, specifically ask no thinning or "razor-cut". They tend to like doing that. So be wary. When you get a wash they give you a massage! Very relaxing. Go in the morning when it's not so busy. And It's best to make an appointment for hair color or Japanese straitening. They do waxing too! read more

One of my guilty pleasures is getting my hair washed and blow-dried at a salon. I know, it's weird but hear me out. For $15 I got a crazy good head massage with the shampooing, a shoulder massage, and a 15-minute blowout. My hair is pretty straight naturally but she took her time and made it stick-straight. My hair stayed straight for 2 days despite the humidity that would normally frizz me up instantly. The ladies of this salon were so nice. I was only in town visiting, so I don't know if I'll ever be back. But if you are in town and looking to relax, you should definitely come here! read more

I have been coming here for years. This is also where the rest of my family comes. The owner (Tiffany) is very very friendly. They have a lot of business. You get your bang for your buck. The Shampoo massage and cuts are very popular and usually what i get. As a stylist, she listens to what you want. The one thing i love about her, and what keeps me coming back is that she takes her time and never rushes her work. I've been going to this salon since I was little (so a little over 15+ years) and they never disappoint. Kim's always been my hair dresser, she consistently asks what hairstyle I'm going for, is attentive when she's layering my hair, and makes sure I'm 100% satisfied with my haircut. The rest of the staff are polite as well when you walk in and it's always a pleasure to come back every few months or so when I'm due for a cut. I searched for a new place to have my short hair trimmed. My other place would always cut my bangs too short and not cut the hair right at the back of the head where the swirl is causing a dip, indentation which I hate. So, I came across Grammy Salon and read all the rave reviews and decided to go. Wow ! I am seriously happy with my trim ! I got Carmen and she listened to me very intently as I explained what I wanted. She went to work and I got exactly what I wanted with a blow dry on top of that. Ahhh. Been going here for years, like over 10 years. But it seems like now they take long time customers for granted. Went for a haircut recently and they had a guy do it - first time I ever had that. I said I wanted layers. He did not give me any layers at all. I always get layers and similar haircut. This was just cut short. Now I have go somewhere else to get it fixed. Disappointing when long time customers don't get good service. read more

I used to come to this salon frequently until one of their staff messed up my bangs. When I politely pointed it out, she denied it. I explained to her several times how it was uneven. The manager had to come over and tell her to even it out. As she was fixing my hair, she started talking loudly to the other staff. So unprofessional.
