What a cute little coffee shop in Madison! I met up with a friend at Grams for coffee and brunch, and would definitely return the next time I'm in the area. We stopped in on a Monday at 10 a.m. and had the place to ourselves for a while - although as we were leaving around noon, more people were dining in. This seems like a great spot to work or study remotely - there's plenty of space to spread out. This appears to be an old house that was remodeled, solidifying the comfy and welcoming vibes. The service was friendly and fast - I ordered a hot vanilla latte, and the Breakfast Quesadilla at my friend's recommendation. The latte was well made - not too sweet and not too milky. The quesadilla is really fun brunch option. I ordered mine with just eggs, cheese, and the chipotle sauce (which is a must-add for dipping!) You can also add meat to your quesadilla if you'd prefer some more protein. read more

Why have I wanted so long to visit this place! Grams has been on my list for a long time and I finally made it here. First off, there are two patios, one in the front and one in the back for safe dining. The coffee shop was a little empty during my visit so I stayed inside and worked by the fireplace. I ordered the vegan quesadilla with vegan eggs and chorizo. This was delicious and had a ton of flavor; a definite reorder! I also got a super flavorful cold brew coffee. This was perfectly brewed and didn't any creamer or sweetener. I love it when the cold brewed is properly made and has no bitter aftertaste. Not for happy roadtrippers! If you're looking for a coffee shop to grab while you're on the road, you can find somewhere else. My partner and I were excited to start our trip and wanted to stop in for breakfast. We wanted somewhere local and were drawn in by the idea of 'communiTEA'. 3 people working behind the counter. 10am. Silence. We stood at the counter for 10mins (they can see us!) and no one said anything. Super awkward. Finally a cashier named Zoey came up and stared at me. Hmm, okay? I assume she wants my order. I tell her my order. She whispers something. "What?" I say. More whispers. "What?". Oh they're out of Italian sausage. She's frustrated at me because I keep asking "what" when she's whispering. Bad attitude. We got our coffee and breakfast and they got our order mixed up. She didn't even care. Food was bland. Coffee was not good. I asked for espresso and did not get that. You would be best going elsewhere for breakfast. I did not feel welcomed here despite their community aspect. read more

Passed by this place this morning and decided to stop in for coffee. We were greeted by a very friendly man who took our order and prepared our coffee&food. The vanilla latte was great, but the breakfast quesadilla was delicious!! This place serves up good coffee and food and also offers a quiet place to work or study. Grams was a fantastic stop while visiting Nashville! Cute little place with seating indoor and outdoor on the front or back patio. We tried the Iced Matcha Chai, the Regular Iced Chai and a cinnamon roll. Everything was really great! I'd absolutely recommend and come back here for a Matcha Chai. The cinnamon roll was so yummy and not sickly sweet like some you can get. The owner's cousin took great care of us and checked in on us as we enjoyed our yummy items on the back patio. Very relaxing atmosphere and I'd absolutely recommend you get yourself to Gram's for a visit! Oh! And the do their own custom tea blends. So there's lots more to try! Love this place! The people are so helpful, plus they have vegan and caffeine free options - which is hard for me to find in a coffee shot. Or at least if you want something with flavor! Their lids for their loose leaf tea have a filter in them so the tea is loose steeping, but you don't ever drink the leaves bc of this cool filtered lid. Apparently you can even get an additional steep out of them if you keep your cup and heat water at home! Love love Grams! Updated: A man (who I assume is the owner) just gave me one of their vegan cupcakes to try bc I was raving so much about the sandwich - apparently they get their vegan baked goods and bacon tempeh from The Southern V. It seems to be a black owned business so that's cool. It is clean and nice. Even has a meeting room. The coffee was good, the cinnamon roll was ok. It was cold so it wasnt gooey. It wasn't bad just not extra or great. A fir needs to be extra something. The ciabatta sandwich was fine. Nothing was bad but nothing was a plus either. I've been waiting for Grams to open for so long, and it was worth the wait. Note this is the soft launch. Google Maps knows it's open even if Yelp didn't. It's a white building with the driveway in front; drive slowly on OHB so you don't miss it. The thought of another coffee shop in Madison makes me giddy. I love SideKicks, but this is a little different, and there's room for two (or more)! It has a crisp and modern feel, with wooden tables, benches along the wall, as well as a room with soft seating. I would guess the dining area near the kitchen and where one orders to seat maybe 10 (less with COVID) and there's a big meeting table that might seat 6. In the soft seating area, maybe 8 people could share it if they were friendly. There's a patio outside but I didn't pay attention to its set-up. I had the housemade lemonade ($2.50), and Grams will have smoothies and perhaps juices in the near future. Grams will eventually feature 40 types of tea, and there are cute little bottles to sniff the current 15 or so options. And of course, there's coffee, which I don't typically drink, but my daughter enjoyed her latte with almond milk (they have regular, soy and oat also) and a shot of vanilla, 12 oz for $4.05. We shared an apple cinnamon scone that was just right - not too apple-y or cinnamon-y. Stop by to work, nosh, meet, and people watch. When My husband and I travel I look to yelp for a fun coffee house. Grams looked like a good start for morning coffee. When we arrived we were the only people there. I saw a sign over an iPad to place my order. I kinda like to talk to my barista and might have understood the digital order if they were busy. 2 people were working behind the counter and neither one spoke to me. It took an incredibly long time for a fresh brew and plain latte. She called my name for the order even though it was just the 2 of us standing there. I said Thank you but she didn't say a word back. The cups were marked backwards and my husband's was bad at the first sip. We just left the coffee at the table and found a Starbucks down the road. Guess it was just a bad day for the barista and a bad coffee experience for me. read more

Omg this place is amazing! My husband and I just moved to Madison and we are so happy that Grams is right down the street from us. The loose leaf tea selection is awesome and the coffee was delicious. My husband got a breakfast sandwich and he couldn't stop talking about the chipotle sauce and how good the whole thing was. Went to Grams while on a little spring break trip to Nashville! It was such a cute place and if I lived in Nash, I would go there all the time to do homework. The food and coffee is AMAZING! My boyfriend got a sandwich and I got the quesadilla and I've been dreaming about it since. Coffee was sooo good and they offer dairy free options for my lactose intolerant friends!
