Food was delicious! Loved the flavor and texture of the steak and bell peppers with the queso was an absolute Chefs kiss! The service was surprisingly fast even while it was pretty busy! Don't let the location fool you. It's in a strip mall, but the food and service were great. I had the fried chicken chimichanga and my husband had the polo loco. We travel in our 40ft Motorhome and managed to find a spot on the outskirts of the parking lot. My husband walked in, places our order and was back in our Coach within 15 mins or so. He said it was clean inside and staff was friendly. They included chips and salsa with our takeout order and both of us were very pleased with our meals. Definitely satisfied the Mexican food craving we were having. We would definitely come back next time we are passing through! read more

I used to stop here often as I really like the food and the service has always been great! However, the last two times I have eaten here, the man at the cash register is very rude! This last time he charged me the wrong amount and rather than ringing it up correctly, he gave me back cash. While it was basically the same, I'm on an expense account and now I have no receipt to submit. Because he was so abrupt, he also screwed my server out of a tip. He must be the owner as I can't imagine any business having a person with such an attitude be the last thing you remember as you leave. I won't be going back. read more

Four stars are very deceiving for the food at this restaurant. The beans tasted burned, and everything else was canned. Pace picante sauce for salsa and velveeta cheese in the enchiladas. So disappointing. While the staff was friendly, we did not get what we ordered either. We realized afterward we were trying to navigate to the Rio Grande Restaurant and ended up at Gran Rio. Our order was to go. The cheese enchilada was just cheese inside, no seasoning, no sauce. In my opinion it was premade as the cheese had melted at one point but was not hot. The bean enchilada contained only beans and tasted oddly of italian seasoning. Neither item not the beans or rice were hot. We were not given forks. I'm giving it a rating of 3 overall because the fried ice cream was a great dessert. The prices were cheap but you are getting what you pay for here. First experience here. The waiter was great - super friendly - and food was good (I had the Mexican chicken soup and hubs had shrimp tacos). Maybe if we had been seated in another area it would have been ok but I was ready to shoot myself due to the door chime that kept going off everytime someone entered or exited the kitchen (and we weren't SUPER close to the kitchen but it was SUPER annoying). It was a grandfather clock kitchen chime and the CONSTANT sound over & over & over was like Chinese water torture - I was ready to scream by the end of dinner. We also got screwed/way overcharged on the bill. (Husband didn't realize it until we got to the car and he didn't want to go back inside to straighten it out). Would definitely not go back to eat inside and if we order something to go we would make sure we keep a very close eye on the receipt! read more

For the most part my kids love this place! Even though one only orders hot dogs! But every delivery is wrong and they have to go back and retrieve the rest of my order. Today when we placed an order and it arrived, the driver didn't have change for $60.00 my total was $45.85. He said do you go there often, we can keep it and give at next order. Sorry that's not happening. So i told him I could come get the change after we ate.which defeats the purpose of ordering out. When i got inside to distribute everyone's meals was again missing items off the order. So i called and they ended up bringing it with my daughters meal. By that time the 2/ $6.75 cheese dip was cold and disgusting. Wouldn't really complain but that's 13.50 for something now inedible! And on the menu the pollo loco also states that it comes with a lettuce salad w/ sour cream and pico de gallo well it doesn't. And ordered extra chips and salsa and both bags didn't even come 1/2 full. which isn't enough when your feeding 4 people! I wouldn't really complain but i order from them about once a week. And every order is wrong. Come on Grand Rio get your stuff together there is plenty of other places to order in this town if you don't!!! read more

When we sat ourselves at a booth against the wall and flagged down a server. Our drinks came in about ten minutes. This wouldn't typically be a problem except that we counted five employees on the floor and only two other tables. Our chicken nachos appetizer and two entrees were unremarkable. I can't really bash them because Mexican food is simple and delicious. The bill rounded out to about $30. The restaurant was not fiflthy but was certainly not clean. Nothing special. read more
