Really cool place! The decor is a very tasteful blend of vintage and modern. I can imagine this place probably being a popular dinner/late evening spot, but we were here for lunch and it was rather quiet. The menu is pretty expansive with everything from pastas to steaks, salads, and sandwiches. I personally was a little disappointed in the lack of vegetarian options though. We visited Nucci's on a Saturday evening during the fall festival and I was impressed by how smoothly everything was running, despite the busy evening. We had already eaten, and after reading reviews and seeing the food that came out, I'm so sad we didn't get to taste any of the dinners. Everything smelled amazing and looked wonderful. We did order two cocktails and shared a desert. Our waitress was very friendly and the bar area was cozy. All the other guests seemed to be enjoying their food. There were several good pasta options. The tortellini tasted home made. My preference would have been a different sauce and not the Alfredo. The rib eye was a large portion. House salad was a nicer salad than you would get elsewhere. Homemade dipping oil. I found their house dressing too sweet but it was good. Service was great. Sandwiches and pizza on the menu too. Desserts looked good but no more room! This is the best restaurant from the MO border to Jacksonville so we stopped in on our trip. I was hopeful that the food here would rival the great family restaurant Italian food from my state of Connecticut. I was wrong. It far exceeded my expectations. It's a cozy place with an intimate and upscale but unpretentious vibe. We had the Italian margaritas out of curiosity and I highly recommend you try. At our table we had an order of hot wings, an order of white lasagne, and a house tortellini. We got the side salads which came perfectly dressed with some amazing house dressing that was balanced and a little sweet. The greens were super fresh. HUGE portions! I'll just start with that. We had a part of 7 on a Friday afternoon. We were seated right away. We ordered two apps (which were huge and good). One of the great things we found on our trip to Harpoles Lodge in Pike County. The building was beautiful and was a signal of what we would find inside. We got a table almost immediately and our waitress kept us in drinks and had our appetizers out almost directly from the stove. The pasta dish I had reminded me immediately of my favorite of Olive Garden, sausage and peppers rustica. My wife had the white lasagna and she loved it. The 3 of us drove to Pittsfield for dinner at Nucci's on a Monday night. They were busy! We immediately got one of the few remaining open tables. Waitress was excellent on making recommendations from the menu. She suggested the white chicken parm to my MIL and the strawberry lemonade (with REAL frozen strawberries). She ordered both and was very happy. Like others stated, the house salad is AMAZING! Let's be clear, nothing fancy, just a spring mix with a few red onions, one sliced cherry tomato, and croutons. I swear angels hand made the dressing! I wanted to lick my plate! I would purchase their dressing by the gallon! It's that good, people! My only regret was not asking what was available for dessert. Wow! We were just looking for a decent bite to eat after a long day and Nucci's blew it away! Started with fantastic service, literally immediate service and so friendly. Then let's go to drinks.. they had a special ice coffee drink that my husband loved and I'm glad he didn't lick his glass. They had riesliing so I was a happy camper. On to the food! I had the bourbon glazed flat steak, cooked to perfection with awesome zucchini medley side. My husband had the Penne Rosa and was shocked by the amount of sausage in it. He actually couldn't eat the whole thing and we both got to go boxes. Cannot say enough about this place. I sure hope we can get back here in our travels. For Pittsfield it's okay. At least it's inexpensive, but i recently saw the owners commenting about minimum wage issues on facebook and witnessed them writing something like "iPads don't show up late and get orders wrong." They threaten that if a minimum wage hike is passed they plan to go to an automated ordering system so they don't have to pay employees a living wage. That's their right, but I'm not likely to eat there in the future. read more

We were seated very close to the bar where all the staff excluding cooks, gathered to gossip so I can't a lot for their atmosphere. We only had appetizer. The crab stuffed mushrooms turned out to be stuffing stuffed mushrooms. No crab to be seen let alone tasted. The stuffing tasted exactly like Stove Top. We went here on our drive back home. While traveling we share food, so don't have to waste food!!being a family of 2 adults and 2 small kids , we orders 2 adult dishes, were charged 3$ charge per plate for sharing. Initially I was upset about that and the long wait for the good.but as we have rules, from their point of view they have to remain in business being a small establishment , hence to survive have to do what they got to do. I really had this change of opinion and 4stars as the food was simply delicious. We ordered thin crust Nucci pizza and spaghetti with meatballs. Also orders 2desserts after that-tiramisu and cannoli. Really wonderful Italian food. Stopped on our way home from a Mizzou game. Majority of the menu is homemade. Salad has a great sweet Italian dressing and the bread came with dipping oil. Yum. I want to like this place but there are just too many flaws. My wife and I have tried this restaurant out many times and we have even taken my family, but every time we go there is something new that seems to be going down... On several occasions when I walk in, I have been asked at least three times if I would like to sit outside and every time it has been way too cold to sit outside. So three times in a row we said no, and then were seated right next to the open door that led to the patio. The menu has changed too many times and causes me frustration because once I find a dish I like, it is taken off by the next time I come. Recently we were invited out to lunch with friends and when we arrived the table we were seated at, we found the table cloth was a sticky/plastic mess full of snags and rips. The floor underneath our table and chairs look as if it had not been swept in a while. Upon ordering our food my wife and I said we would like to split a pasta dish. By the way, expect to pay at least 11 dollars for some noodles and sauce. Then we were told there is an upcharge for splitting a dish, I thought perhaps this would mean more food, but no. The person sitting next to my wife ordered the same thing and got the same amount of food as we did. This place is so bizarre. In addition to this, we constantly felt treated like we weren't spending enough money as we were asked if we want any appetizers with our main dish or dessert. I could never recommend this restaurant to any friend. The menu, staff, and aesthetic all fall short of what I expect, when looking at the restaurant they are trying to be. read more

When I go to an Italian restaurant, I always order spaghetti and meatballs--regular spaghetti with no fancy name, red sauce, and MEATBALLS, the bigger the better. This little out of the way place, slightly off the town square, served exactly that. It was DELICIOUS, as good as anything on the Hill in St. Louis. They have four choices for dessert. They're very polite and the owner often walks around seeing how the customers are doing. We had a great dinner this past Saturday night at Nucci's. The starter salad had a nice subtle dressing that went well with the bread and oil served before the meal. My Eggplant Parmesan was outstanding as was the accompanying pasta and sauce, while Ms K's Fettucini Alfredo was a huge portion that she almost made it all the way through. It was served with a side salad topped with a sweet Italian dressing (house made) and bread with an herb olive oil dip, also very good! Cozy light decor, not cluttered was just right & an enjoyable experience. Menu is quite large with plenty to choose from for all taste buds. Wait staff was kind & attentive. There where three of us & each ordered something different so was able to taste a couple items. I ordered the Chicken prosciutto, grilled chicken wrapped with prosciutto & mozzarella served on a bed of garlic butter noodles with mushrooms and Parmesan, this was delicious and a large portion so had enough to bring home. Also at our table was the shrimp scampi pasta, six good size shrimp on a garlic pasta & cheese Alfredo tortellini with peas. For an appetizer we had the Italian bruschetta, good wish the bread was sliced a little thinner it was difficult to take a bite. We also tried the fresh mozzarella and tomatoes drizzled with a balsamic & this was a nice & light appetizer, highly recommend. For dessert the lemon cake we took home was delicious. My only complaint would be the Italian Margarita was $6, yummy drink but at $4 I would have ordered two, we all agreed $6 was to high. Give this place a try & you won't be disappointed, I will be going back & keep trying more items on the menu, the Alfredo Lasagna peaked my interest :) read more
