Save your money I have been coming about a year on Friday nights. I watched a girl get assaulted months ago. The bartender and other people witnessed it and there are cameras all around. The girl was visibly shaken and upset and finally left after the bouncer told her that the head bartender, Ashely, wouldn't throw him She just kept giving him more drinks the rest of the night. The next time I went back I asked what happened and was told the guy was kicked out permanently. Lo and behold I show up yesterday and there he is....drinking away!!!! I asked around and someone told me he left a bad yelp review and the owner let him back in if he changed it. I never post but if that's what the owner needs to take action I felt I needed to let other people know that they let men assault women in this bar. It was on camera! STAY AWAY A drunk, belligerent man violently shoved and spit at a woman. He was not immediately escorted out and in fact served more drinks. The head bartender, Ashley, did nothing to protect this woman. The owner agreed to kick him out. It worked for several months, until a bad yelp review. He can now come back with zero warning to the longtime loyal female customer. The owner, Chris, and head bartender, Ashley, have total disregard for anything other than cash. Cool country bar and one of the only places in the valley with live country music. The only thing I don't get is the $10 cover charge. I recently came on a Friday night, and the place was surprisingly dead. I honestly think charging $10 at the door keeps people away. If they got rid of the cover, I think this place would be packed. I'll give this 3 stars for the vibe, and eager crowd. While I'm not a country fan or line dancing fan I love that there seems to be a regular crowd coming out to enjoy. Was surprised with such a crowd that often there was just 1 girl behind the bar, so drink service for a big group of drinkers was very underwhelming. And the food. I rarely write negative reviews but seriously, there has to be something more you can do when the best thing on your menu is the Tyson frozen chicken tenders: Owners, get yourself a chef, a real menu, some fresh food, and a couple more bar staff on a Friday night and you'll make a killing. This place is a fun time but I recommend you come with an open heart and mind. Yes, the dance floor does get crowded but like much of life, it's what you make of it. I encourage you to keep trying the beginner lessons and don't be intimidated or afraid to make mistakes because quite frankly, that's how you learn. In fact seeing the more advanced people made me want to attend regularly so I can learn all of the routines. I came for the beginner lesson tonight and while I got turned around a few times, I had fun and definitely broke a sweat. Also for anyone who is a person of color who might be hesitant about coming into a space like this, I want you to know that I don't think you will have any issues here whatsoever. There are many ethnicities and skin colors present here, and as long as you are here to respectfully have a good time, you might enjoy yourself here. The food was meh and was served to us cold. But you didn't come here to eat, did you? You came here to DANCE. I can't afford a trip to Nashville just yet so the $10 fee for the lesson will have to do for the time being. The real last honky tonk in Southern California where you can line dance without judgement! You can feel safe with the crowd plus they offer line dance lesson with an affordable fee. They are open from wed-Sunday with performance from different live country band. This place has accommodated scenes from some of the well known movies and music videos in the past as they truly offer genuine western country vibes. The only downside is the bar area. It takes forever to be entertained, the blonde girl is not that amicable unless you're a man, (I like the new brunette girl though) she's very friendly keep her there. This place is a joke for line dancing. It says beginners on Friday from 6-7 but don't be fooled. It's a mafia of women in the San Fernando Valley who just come here as their personal show-off spot. You will NOT learn line dancing. The "instructor" Francine doesn't call the moves, she's a rude see you next Tuesday who kind of half calls a few moves and then gets lazy and stops. My friends and I came here on a Saturday night for "beginner" line dancing classes. Overall we had a fun time! The bar was packed, which is good for them but made it crowded and a little hectic for us. This is the only true country bar I've been to around LA and you will find a much more 'old school' country vibe hear vs what you will find in any city country bars. I have done line dancing before and I would not say the beginner line dancing classes are beginner at all. Most of the dances were complicated and the instructor for the classes was very hard to follow. We couldn't really see what the instructor was doing but still had fun. This is definitely a fun country bar but don't go there expecting to learn line dancing on a weekend. I knocked a star off because the bar really needs accessible water if there's dance classes. I go here all the time. I was born and raised in Chatsworth. But the last few times I was in here.... The customer service is lacking. I've know ashley for a while and love her. But the last couple of times have not been a great experience. I just sat at the bar and ashley served me a drink. Then another bar tender came on shift. She told my group that I'd we didn't but a drink from her we needed to move from the bar stools. I just bought a drink. I'm not buying another one until I finish this one. She was so rude. I understand you want to make money but I will never give her business after the way she treated me and my friends. Because of this I didn't go back for a while. Well i went again tonight and was extremely disappointed and left way earlier than planned. I always bring new friends and try and drum up Business for my local chatsworth community. I was so embarrassed tonight by the way they treated us. We sat at one of the barstools like many other times. And they had water bottles around the pillar at the table we sat at as well as all the other tables around. Some of my friends that came with me tonight are new customers and didn't know they charge for them. I did however but was at the bar at that time when two do them took one each to drink. We were just about to order a round of drinks when this rude older lady told my friends they stole the water bottles and they were going to be charged $5 for each water. Then a gentleman told us there was a $5 cover charge! I have been going to this establishment for years and never in my life been charged a cover charge. I've also been going to Hollywood clubs for years and never been charged in Hollywood, so the fact that I was going to be charged a cover charge in Chatsworth is absolutely ridiculous!!! My group of 8 walked out of there so fast after that. I don't even know if I want to go back after that. My bf and I went there, I've been there, but he was a first timer. The blonde bar tender, Ashley, ignored us for 10-15 mins. She was taking her sweet Fn* time, flirting with some guys and catering to them. Helloooo, you have a full bar of customers waiting for you! she finally decides we are all worth her time. She comes and asks what we want, no smile no friendliness, with her shit ass attitude. we tell her, what we want, gives us our beers and ignores us for another 30 mins. If you are not a local, don't Bother coming here. ESPECIALLY, if You are of COLOR. save your little gold coins, and take your business somewhere else. its aesthetically pleasing, except for that huge confederate flag hanging, which should tell you everything about this bar. Also check your tab, the bar tenders like to add more than what you asked for. and keep tabs of the drinks you get. The bar tenders aren't very honest. this place Is a huge disappointment. read more

Wanted to try line dancing and this was one of the very few places suggested in the valley. The bar itself didn't have stellar reviews, but I figured I'd give it a try for dancing on a Friday night. They advertise a beginner class at 7 for a $10 fee. The teacher was 10 min late, ok that can happen. She took us thru the steps of one dance, which she did well. Clearly there were quite a few advanced students already participating on the very crowded small dance floor. In fact, some were hogging the front so I couldn't even see the teacher, really not cool. There is an advanced class @ 8 with more dancing afterwards. Couldn't these people let the newbies have the floor?! After that one dance, which lasted maybe 15 min, the teacher put on music, stepped away, and those advanced people started to dance madly, one song after the other. After watching this from the sideline for awhile, waiting in vain for another dance to be taught, I gave up and left. What a disappointment & waste of time & money. read more

I have been wanting to come here for as long as I've known about it, but have always felt really intimidated. But finally made it happen last night! I learned some steps from Mike (they have free lessons!) , drank some Coors Light, danced to LIVE MUSIC, and met some wonderful people. There was a very diverse group of people in attendance which made my heart sing! All ages, races, sexual orientations, and fashions. I am from the south, and I can tell ya, sometimes places aren't so welcoming to all. But, I got the feeling here all are welcome! The ONLY downside was, because it was Saturday night, at some point it did take a long time to get a drink. But, it wasn't because the bartenders were slacking! I've never seen such hard work! It was just so busy! I hope everyone tipped them well! I was glowing from the inside with happiness. You can take the girl out of the country, but...Thanks Cowboy Palace! Love this place but they recently began to charge a cover which I am fine with. My grievance is that the bartender collects the cover charge which gives off shady vibes.
