Many thanks to Andy Linders and his staff for the great work they did installing an Antique Automobile Radio model #851201BT retro radio and speaker in this 1972 Cutlass Supreme! The work was done perfectly, on time and at the low end of the estimate Andy provided in advance. In addition, Andy spent significant time setting up the Bluetooth and phone sync features supported by the new radio. He also checked the radiator pressure and identified an older, faulty cap as the cause of minor fluid loss. Finally, Andy was willing just to talk about the car and educate me on items related to its history based on his evaluation of some of the components involved in the radio switch-out. This is a RAVE REVIEW! As a single mom, when my front left speaker blew out, I learned to live with it. But when the front right speaker died recently, well, I NEED my music! I had investigated new speakers with the 1st casualty, but it seems there are so few indie audio installation places like there used to be. He heard me about being a single mom (read: don't up-sell me) and very seriously asked what kind of music I like to determine which speakers would be best. The price quote was SANE. He and the other man (I never caught his name, my bad) worked together and thus my speakers were installed in half the time Andy had said that it would take! As they do regular auto repair, I asked if they wouldn't mind checking the pressure on my tires (tire light had gone on) & they threw that in for free. VERY happy parent and new teenage driver! My son wanted a stereo upgrade in his used car. He had a finite amount of money to spend on a stereo and speakers. We stopped by and chatted with Andy about what my son wanted (and he listened!) and he directed us to where/what to look for. He also told us what we DIDN'T need (saving my son some money). We ordered the parts and returned --Andy performed the installation. Turned out to be exactly what my son was looking for! Fast forward a few weeks --stereo stops working. My son took it in to have Andy look at it and he diagnosed it as a failed stereo. He assured him it was not something he had ever encountered with Kenwood and explained the retailer warranty. I called the retailer and described the issues and they echoed what Andy said --very rare, but indeed a failed board. Not only did Andy get my son's car in quickly to adhere to the retailer's return policy, but he didn't charge my son for the removal of the failed stereo and install of the replacement. Lastly, I really enjoyed chatting with Andy about the old cars we've had over the years. Almost a year ago I came here to have a HID kit installed in my car when I was gonna do it myself but wanted it done professionally so it looked clean, well coming here was my first mistake in this process. So I get here and Andy the owner was cool seemed like a nice guy and was able to get me in right away but not sure who the moron is he had working on my car. This guy literally connected wires on my install by twisting the wires together and just electrical taping them..... seriously? Of which I just found out. So he finishes and I leave and on my way home all of a sudden all my turn signals stop working and the passenger side bulb stops working as well. I go back the next day and the same guy throws a new bulb in and it's all fixed... Except for my turn signals. Close to a year goes by and the passenger lights is out again so I go there and wouldn't you know it they don't carry hid lights anymore and says I'm gonna be charged to have him order new ones and make an appointment to have him install them and also I had my receipts saying that any kit installed by them has a year warranty which my kit was gonna be past the year in about 10 days.... Now not sure how that's not valid for warranty work but that's poor ass business. So Andy says he has to order my lights and that nobody around carries them anymore. When I leave I call one place and sure enough they have the kits so I go buy one and do the install myself and this is when I see the shitty job his company did on my car with wires twisted and shoved in my engine bay I'm actually surprised it didn't short out earlier but it looked like my dog installed them. So as for a custom shop their work sucks ass. Also according to their response below they said I had a kit already installed which was not the case.
