This is a great hotel to come to and relax with the family. The staff is super nice and helpful. It's clean, everything is kept up and the food is AMAZING!! One of the most delicious buffets I have ever tasted. They have such a vast variety and each night is a new theme. My 7 year old called it his favorite buffet he only wanted to eat there! They have trolleys that take u to 4 other resort lobby's that r also apart of the Bahia Principe chain. They move quick so as soon as u hear where they're going next u better be jumping on that seat. One big recommendation I would like to give is to book any speciality dinning in advance. They r also included in the all inclusive plane so might as well give them a try. We specially enjoyed Frutos de Mar (servers were Leonardo & Alejandro) and Alux (adult only). Both were superb!! Amazing service, so kind and understanding, very polite. And the food, OMG!! U have to try it for ur self. So delicately made and with so much flavor. The dishes they serve back @ the states would cost @ least $24-$30. With all the wonderful pros there r some cons. I was highly disappointed with the beach . It was dirty and lots of rocks underneath. There were some workers trying to clean it off but it wasn't enough, it's the ocean and two men can't clean it all on their own. I recommend wearing water shoes to avoid and injuries. Next, is their drinks. If u have in mind in chillin pool side with a delicious margarita in ur hand.... ur wrong. Their drinks r the worst I have ever had. And I ordered just about anything and everything I could think of. From pina colada to my number one favorite Long Island. They were all gross, I gave up and stuck with water. I mean one bartender didn't even know what a Long Island was so he made it up and served me a pineapple juice with some kind of cheap liquor. Lastly, out of all the staff in this enormous resort there, of course, had to be one that makes everyone else look bad. And that was the breakfast and lunch buffet hostess. I mean she seriously hates her job. She won't smile, won't say hello, doesn't even offer u a tequila shot from the table she is standing next to ( maybe she should be taking a couple of shots herself). Just stands there with her sad hideous face pretending to do her job. Luckily I found a side door to bypass her sour face and walk right into the buffet. I hope this helps

We came to the Grand Tulum location from the USA and meet my sister from Turkey the last week of September'22. For us; the price was so good and we booked their website, which ended up cheaper than other websites. I paid ocean view room for 7 nights all inclusive of 2 for less than $1400, so I do not think I have the right to complain but just letting you know my experience: Location: middle of Tulum(30 min drive) and Cancun airport(1-hour drive) to Cancun downtown (1 hour 30 min). In front of the beach. (We booked a rental car for a week and paid a little less than $400 with insurance, definitely recommend that bc taxi charge you from the airport almost $100 us dollars)(ps: be careful in the gas station, if you do not have a peso they exchange money for a US dollar way higher. We paid $32 for 450 pesos (($22 originally) -nothing around the hotel within walking distance. Food: -so bad, there are various types of food, but they all have the same taste which is no taste! Before I go there I read all comments that said the same thing but I thought everyone is covid or something how you can not taste anything? But trust me that is all true. I guess they do not want you to enjoy and eat more since it is all-inclusive. We booked twice restaurant reservation comes with your booking 3 times during your visit. Brazilian rest was okay, but when we booked for Mexican rest(don Juan) had a problem. When we showed up at the restaurant on our time; it was closed! I mean like closed closed! That was a bummer! -drinks were terrible just fruit juice! I swear I was craving to drink a nice margarita the whole week! Our last night Carmen prepared us drink promised 3 shots in small cup, boy!,and there was still nothing! At that moment I understood that all liquor bottles were filled with water. (Bc normally I do not have the endurance for alcohol but telling u there was nothing and I watched him while he was making my drink). +there are snack bars almost 24 hours, and still nice to have ready food while you are a group of people and do not need to plan to go somewhere and come back. +still nice to have food always The team: +omg! You cannot believe how friendly and smiling people are all around the hotel, from housekeeping to servers, everyone! If it was in Us, people would run when they see you to not help; but over there when you show up in the restaurant they are running to you if you need anything, checking on you with little English and a lot of smiles! -front desk would be a little more friendly, I guess they are bored with what they doing. I understand that they repeatedly do the same thing all day, but I flew 10 hours flight and 1-hour driving, so I could use a little more smile or help. Nothing bad, but compared to other workers; they need to be a little less snobby maybe. -hard to find someone who speaks English, still they are helpful. so prepare your Spanish, or body language:) Room: +housekeeping comes every day with fresh towels and making your bed, cleaning all rooms. +mini bar is free. It has 2 small sodas 2 cans of beers and 2 bottles of water. And they renewed every day. -towels always had stains on them. It was hard to find a white towel in the room without a stain on it. -shampoo and conditioner stuff were bad!!!! I recommend to the hotel not to give it to the customers at all! It was like dish soap all! -Ac does not work if you use lights in the room(!), When we realized it was super wear called the front desk, and the guys came he said do not use lights at the same time, or it is gonna stay weak. Beach&Pool: +They have towels. Beautiful beach cleaned by workers every day from seaweeds and other stuff. The pool has a bar in it; while u are sitting in the pool,u can order and drink your margarita(which is just juice). They have beach volleyball, water polo, entertainment in the pool area all day, sun beds are everywhere,u never gonna be out of one. There are shade areas. -you can get a towel from the pool but you have to return by 6 pm or you gotta carry your room and bring it back the next day(!). Sounds like no problem but 6 is early for Mexico sun, and the hotel is huge, kinda problem to carry it to your room under 90 degrees! - while you are getting relaxed at the beach, the tractor is coming and parking in front of you (between your sunbed and the ocean) and collecting first from the workers. So it is not a nice atmosphere they are doing while you are chilling. But I understand, when they can do it anyway! So it is just 30 min thing. So far we picked here for a budget-friendly Tulum vacation, it gave us what we expected compared to the price we paid. I recommend it if you carry your alcohol bottle, and go out to eat for dinner. Breakfast was okay, they could not mess up with egg anyway, and lunch was something we were not looking for.

This place has bug problems. They need exterminators ASAP I switched rooms only to find out it was just as bad as the first room. Possible bed bugs, dirty curtains dirty door knobs no hand soap. Flies, ants! Why did I pay for this... to add on to the waitresses and buffet was not good at all.

My husband and I just got back from our wonderful honeymoon spent at Sian Ka'an. While it was his…read moresecond or third time spending time at the Bahia Principe resorts in Cancun, it was my first. Overall, we had a wonderful 7 night stay. Buffets: The daily buffets were offered 3 times a day and had themed sections, like Full English Breakfast, Mexican, Pizza, Dessert, etc. All of the selections I made were very yummy. I particularly enjoyed the variety of breakfast poached eggs as well as the green juice. They try to label each item with the name of the food and any allergens, which was confusing at times. One white rice would state that it had wheat, but the other white rice was not labeled with the wheat. I asked a manager and he helped me to understand, but pointed out another food item that had no wheat allergen sign and said that that is made with gluten. All in all, if you have an allergy, be very careful with your selections. They do have a dedicated gluten-free bakery case and toaster. If you're vegetarian/vegan, you might not find enough protein here. Restaurants: We made dinner reservations for each night and loved the variety of restaurants. I would recommend checking out the menus before you go and making reservations early, as we met people who didn't and were stuck with 9:45pm reservations or none at all because they didn't book ahead. Grounds/Rooms: The adults only Sian Ka'an campus is lovely, surrounded by lush trees and beautiful birds. The pools are the big ticket item here, and lots of people lay out each day relaxing. We had the penthouse suite with the jacuzzi. The room was more or less basic, with just the essentials. The bed was large and comfortable. I enjoyed how they re-filled you mini bar each day. We would've used the jacuzzi more if you didn't have to refill and drain it each time you wanted to use it. Upon arrival, we celebrated our honeymoon by putting a ribbon on our door and rose petals on our bed, which was sweet. Service: The service here was excellent. Every single employee was kind and friendly, always saying hello. They love when you put effort into speaking Spanish, so feel free to practice. They all work very hard, and it shows. The drinks are veryyyy weak, including the shots, which is probably company policy and for the better since we're sipping them all day long anyway. The golf cart service to and from the various hotels was good overall. Occasionally there was a delay or we had to wait a while for a ride, but overall it's a fine system and makes it feel like a little adventure going to and from each resort. Overall, Sian Ka'an was a great value for what you receive. We booked with their Black Friday sale last year, so maybe check that out if you're looking for a better deal. We would definitely come back!

A taxi will cost 50-75$ depending on your driver ; rates seem to changed even when coming & going to same location. So having a rental at this location of the hotel might be better idea however please be aware this hotel is down a bumpy long dirt road! Two( Check in) went pretty while expect for the paper signing about 20 papers than I was told to make sure all my signatures matches my passport as they may have to call me back out if the owner does not agree with them ( Wierd) .Also got a free welcome drink of choice which was nice !!! Third( room) ; just as described; I booked the deluxe room which had a private shared pool with 2 others. WIFI went in and out. Pretty bad if you need to do work or school work as I did being I took a summer class.( I didn't allow housekeeping to come while there and I didn't use the safe just to keep everything safe as I read other reviews on Travelocity. Shower Water did get warm after I realized the correct way to turn it ( my fault) ! Fourth( hotel restaurant) it said free breakfast which from reviews I read was free a few months ago it's no longer free the only thing that was is a choice of ( coffee, orange or fruit) you pick 1.. disappointing since that was one of my reason of booking the hotel ! Also breakfast was not too pricey but dinner and drink are like if we're in the us ! No difference in price. I also ordered a certain breakfast plate which they did not make correctly it was missing two items .. Fifth( pool/beach) ; I use the top balcony pool once it was nice with an amazing view. Beach was rocky and had a lot of seaweed I did not even go on the beach even tho it had a lounge chairs . Best part; the view ; staff was very nice & friendly ! It's very secluded & private if that's what your looking for. Covid testing was 120 each usd Covid testing cheaper elsewhere noticed after being taxi too a bar and it's many other places just a heads up but at least they provided it . A doctor will be called to hotel and sent to your room ; get results in a few hours !

Staff we came across were all helpful and kind. Even got our Covid test done here. We actually stayed at one of their sister properties next door. There was a complimentray shuttle that took us from one property to the other. Very convenient. The sister property was nice, but from the looks of it the Grand Bahía Príncipe Coba may be actually nicer. Will have to spend some nights here in the future to find out. The service at the buffet was anything but great, felt like an inconvenience every time we wanted a refill. Can't even take food back to the room, and they'll chase you down if you leave with their glasses - only can walk around with an 8oz plastic cup. Same cup all their watered down, sugary cocktails are served in. Never been more disappointed on a vacation and the fact that this is our honeymoon stings even more. I understand the good google reviews, as they come to your table and wait for you to give them a review... make sure to be watching you the entire time before you leave, so yeah who will leave an honest review that way? Not to mention found a cockroach in our room too. The mini fridge they say they will stock daily, they must stock with whatever they have left, because only certain items have been restocked. Super overpriced for the service and quality. And getting a taxi? Outrageous prices through the resort. Don't stay here unless you like disappointment at a high cost! Oh yeah, the alacarte dining is impossible to get reservations for, so enjoy the buffet! Or not. Since they don't restock items there either. Waited and talked to over 4 members of staff over 30 minutes just for some shrimp cocktail- a cold dish... Room service? That's included but it will come to you cold. Oh yeah, my husband also got food poisoning while here. WOULD NEVER STAY AGAIN. I would however, recommend this to my worst enemy. If you want to have a sour stomach, overpriced rooms, and horrible food, come and stay here. But for us, never again. Also, came back to a clean room but now our toilet does not flush?
