Worst hotel stay that we have ever had! The bathroom door was broken when we arrived, and our four year old ended up getting stuck in there for a long time this morning. When we called the manager, he scolded us for leaving our child unattended. Then, he charged us an additional fee of $22.18. Please listen to the bad reviews and keep driving. This is the creepiest hotel I have ever stayed at. No cell service (I have Verizon). Our unit was attached to the front desk building and it looked like there were some 2 way mirrors (this is speculation) and doors that led to who-knows-where (locked from the other side). Doesn't help that we are two early-twenties girls. We were tired as hell so we tried to look past it all and go to sleep, but we ended up nope-ing out of there around 11pm. Was going to stay here a few days. We ended up having a medical emergency and when I called and asked if they would still charge us if we had to cancel due medical emergency they said yes. They said in their policy I "agreed" to when I booked that cancelling would result in full payment. We decided we would still try and go until I saw they took the payment out before reaching the property. They told me hotels do that. I told him no, most hotels honor the pay at property feature when being booked through a third party. I ended up cancelling because they did not honor their end. They refuse to give me a refund or even a partial refund even though it was initially a medical emergency then turned into them not honoring their end. I asked what if my mom was injured bad enough she died, then what. They have no heart to respect their end of the arrangement or for medical emergencies. read more

To start with, the owners/managers are *wonderful wonderful* people. However, they're entirely unaware of the overpowering scent of cat urine that permeats the property from the moment one steps through the front door. Seriously, they must be so comfortable/familiar with the smell, they straight up told me that there wasn't any smell, unless it was from some dirty heaters they had in the hallway. The cabin on first appearance seemed really quaint and cute. Cats EVERYWHERE. I mean EVERYWHERE. Certainly not a dead mouse under the edge of the bed. At least that explains the flies in the room, and the odor. The plan was to camp, but due to a bunch of setbacks we weren't able to make it to the site in time. We really just wanted a place to get a good nights sleep before heading on our way. For $40 cash, this place really wasn't too bad. However, I will say that I put my own blanket on top of the bed and slept on my own pillow. The beds are old. The bathroom and kitchen was clean though. We were able to cook our breakfast in the kitchen that we had originally planned to use a camp stove for. The cats are definitely a problem. I couldn't smell them in my room, thank goodness. But you can definitely smell them outside and that kind of smell stays with your nose for awhile. I didn't interact with the owners, but my friend said they were very nice. Would I PLAN to stay here again? Nah. Would I stay here again if I needed sleep and it was an option? Yeah. $40 definitely beats the $120+ some of the other hotels were wanting up the street especially when you don't need anything fancy for a quick nights sleep. read more

Charming old school room in this tiny town perfectly set up to visit the Grand Canyon or Page or Zion and Bryce canyons. The gentleman who greeted me had the AC already running in the room and welcomed me with a smile. The room is old but clean with nice towels and a pretty big fridge. He even gave us a little help with a few mechanical issues we were having with our car. I recommend the spot! We slept well. read more

Propane leak in washroom, I initially thought it was sewage that would air out. That's when I found all windows painted shut. My wife and I booked this hotel thru Priceline. Priceline advertised the location of Grand Canyon Motel to be in Williams, AZ which is where we wanted to stay. Turned out the actual location of the Grand Canyon Motel is in Freedonia, AZ which is 3.75 hours north of Williams. After Priceline refused to refund my money I contacted the hotel and they said they were aware of Priceline's error in advertising and had contacted them to correct it which they had not done. The motel also refused to refund my money even though they are aware of the false advertising. We had to get other accommodations at another hotel in Williams. Guess we are out that money, lesson learned no more Priceline or Grand Canyon Motel. read more

Wow oh wow, what a strange place. The outside does not match the inside of this small motel. The outside looks like a charming quaint little cabin style motel. This is a mom and pop operation who also live on the property. When you check in the enterence starts as a gift shop and the farther you walk into to the front desk counter a very veryyy strong odor progressively gets worse. They own many cats, and anyone will know that by walking in. I proceeded to get a room with hesitation, it was the only place still open so I didn't have much choice. The rate for a single room was 39.99 with no other taxes so that was because usually hotels will tack on a bunch of random fees. The couple that run the motel are indeed kind, the husband walked me to my cabin telling me everything I needed to know about the motel and surrounding area. The cabin was equip with all out of date appliances, a small tv with cable, two burner hot plate with no pans in the unit, microwave and mini fridge. The bathroom had two soap despencers mounted on to the wall (by the sink and in the shower). No more amenities in the bathroom except wrapped up plastic cups. The entire place has been rotting away for many years with visible mold in the bathroom and the wood frame for the mattress was in much distress. The matress itself was hands down the most uncomfortable matteress I have ever slept on (tried to at least). The room also had a peculiar strange smell as well that I could smell on my hair and clothes for the next few days. I would never recommend this motel to anyone read more

What a wonderful little place to stay! I was just about to leave town and push on to St George when I spotted this rustic motel. They have quaint little duplex cabins, spacious, clean, comfortable and very quiet. A nice homey yard with seating. And you can't beat the rates. I will be back again for certain. read more

They advertised on their Facebook that a bed is $20 with tax included. Upon arrival, the room is $56. When paying for the room the lady didn't know if she charged my card or not. Got to the room, and there's droppings on the bed. A few flies buzzing. And a nice big crack under a door that connects to the office. So they could hear anything I would say, as the room was tiny. The lady in the office was nice enough to give us a new room (after offering to wipe the droppings off the bed), but this new room was not clean either. Not as bad as the first one, but still not clean. Id stay away from this motel. read more

We arrived late in the evening ! Three Ladies seeking Peace & Nature after one having finished her PHD @ USC.. Burned out Dr K, Lady Maya who had been working everyday in a very High profile foodie resturant doing Management & Service 6 days a week and myself T a very displaced Naturalist in Los Angeles seeking to reconnect wt Nature! We all were set on Camping but. It started Raining so we found this piece of Heaven nestled on the corner of 89a n 359 in Fredonia AZ 86022! We entered the Front office and were captivated by the incredible collection of Native American artifacts and newly created Pottery, rugs , paintings, jewelry, carvings! The Cabins are beautiful and Cozy! The Courtyard enchanting under the stars we BBQed and hit the comfortable roomy beds wt Quilts, the wifi is gratis and high speed! The kichens fully equipped wt stove, fridge, microwave, great cell reception! We didnt need to get seperate Cabins which made for a thouroughly delightful like Summer Camp sleep overs! We stayed up giggling like we were kids! The fresh air was intoxicating! Bob spent time wt us and pointed out Great places in the National Parks to see! First we went to Zion and walked the Virgin River! So wxhiliarating, thank u Teddy Roosevelt for founding the National Parks Service!! Then we stopped in Orderville for a fantastic meal! We passed by a Buffalo preserve going East from Zion!! Los Angelles was the furthest place from my mund! My girlfriends became relaxed.. We felt Safe and very cimfortable, even spoke of returning wt our significant others for Romantic gettaways.. One Lady even umagined to get Married under the Stars wt George the cat standing in as Witness! We then went to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary to volunteer! All those precious animals and u can adopt too bestfriends.org !! We then went for a Photo shoot @ Coral Sands State Park where they filmed Jurraissic Park!! We frolicked in the Sand Dunes for hours and then came back to The GCM and boyght sone XMAS presents from Chief Bibs Guft Shop! There is a pruvate collection of Tibetan artifacts and Rumor has it that Master Romio Shresha Tibetan reincarnate Sacred Painter will be in residence later in the Spring of 2015!! We brought oodles of earrings, ceramucs Zuni carving, Annassezzi inspired contemporary ceramics, our friends in LA frwaked out when they opened their XMAS gifts! In fact we will make a point to return in the Fall of 2015 specifically to buy more XMAS gifts from Cheif Bob! Feel the Love! Call Chief Bob for reservations after 5pm Pacific Time! Reservations are Honoured! They take all cards and the rates are very reasonable @ $55 per nite!! Wt a kichen, wifi late check out! Lively Blankets and Artifacts decorate the Cabins.. We will return this Spring to go to Glenn Canyon, The North Rim of the Grand Canton and try our Luck in entering the Lottery to get tickets to the Wave!! This Lidge is Charming! There are 12 cabins! Great for coyples, Famalies, elders, Groups! Pet Friendly( Cats) only 6 hours from LA & 3 hours N of LV off I-15 north! If u need to Relax recharge unplug star gaze ( Chuwf Bib has a hugh powered Telescope if u say pretty please!) there are so many excursions to go on u could literally stay @ GCM for two weeks and still have so much more territory to cover! We have stayed here many times over the years and they have always been wonderful to us. The other review here sounds like it may have been at the restaurant at the canyon rim. The motel in Fredonia does not have a restaurant. Some of the things we really liked about this motel is that many of the rooms have stoves and fridge and they have facilities to accommodate many different size groups. We look forward to our next visit! read more
