As a single parent working 40+ hours a week, these characteristics are what brought me to cadence. Unfortunately, since then there's been a drastic change in management that's left me feeling increasingly uncomfortable. I understand my autistic son can be a handful but the previous staff members were much more understanding when it came to him as they had children of their own. I believe it's safe to say the new staff don't have any. I was looking forward to renewing my lease but I'm highly skeptical after a staff member personally came to my door well outside of office hours to complain about my son (apparently he was with a group of kids who were ding dong ditching, however, I know it wasn't him because I had a long talk with him about it). And even after communicating my apologies for his disruptive behavior, they continued to send emails reiterating the same thing even though by then he had stopped. Although it seems that cadence is becoming a not so "family friendly" neighborhood, the maintenance staff, Eddy especially, are prompt and a joy to see every time!

Unfortunately, it speaks volumes and helps explain why this property has received so many negative reviews. Look at the pictures First, no refreshments were offered, they were extremely rude as soon as I walked in , and they did not even correctly identify my dog's breed-- is a Terrier. But this is a perfect example that shows how this person ignorance immediately discriminates people who might have pit-bull service animals . If you have a pit-bull or if she confuses your dog for a pit-bull! don't come here ! cause she will ask you to leave your dog in the car in a 90 degree weather ! It doesn't matter if it is a service dog! She decides which breeds can go in and which have to stay in the car . Second, they claimed that my dog was "acting out," which is simply not accurate. The dog was not "out of control " or they did not have a legitimate reason to separate the service dog from the owner . The dog was lying on the floor ! I SHE MADE ME LOOKED FOR MY DOGS SERVICE DOG NUMBER IN MY EMAIL FOR 20min !!! AFTER I FOUND IT AND A COPY OF HERI ID SHE STILL asked me to put the dog in the car because she didn't want the dog to "bother people " cause said that some people might NOT like dogs or could be allergic to dogs. Now that she got a bad review cause I told her that was illegal and I was going to do it ! she is saying that the dog was acting out . Most importantly, their response appears to acknowledge exactly what I raised in my review: ‼‼I was asked to separate from my service dog and leave her inside my vehicle, with the vehicle running, while I toured an apartment for approximately one hour in 90-degree Florida weather.‼‼‼ Before responding, they also apparently failed to read the ADA information I had already posted regarding service animals and the requirement that a service animal generally be permitted to accompany its handler. And she also confirmed in writing that she asked me to showed paperwork and proof that the dog was a service dog when that is not a ADA requirement! Please read their response below and draw your own conclusions. Their own acknowledgment of what occurred is far more concerning than anything I could add. """""ADA Requirements: Service Animals When it is not obvious what service an animal provides, only limited inquiries are allowed. Staff may ask two questions: (1) is the dog a service animal required because of a disability, and (2) what work or task has the dog been trained to perform. Staff cannot ask about the person's disability, require medical documentation, require a special identification card or training documentation for the dog, or ask that the dog demonstrate its ability to perform the work or task. ‼‼‼‼A person with a disability cannot be asked to remove his service animal from the premises unless: (1) the dog is out of control and the handler does not take effective action to control it or (2) the dog is not housebroken. When there is a legitimate reason to ask that a service animal be removed, staff must offer the person with the disability the opportunity to obtain goods or services without the animal's presence. People with disabilities who use service animals cannot be isolated from other patrons, treated less favorably than other patrons, or charged fees that are not charged to other patrons without animals. In addition, if a business requires a deposit or fee to be paid by patrons with pets, it must waive the charge for service animals. -/////////////////////////// This month I am reviewing apartments. I was not surprised that this local-business data shows a 1.9/5 rating from 22 reviews, with complaints involving management, maintenance and fees. As soon as I walked in, the manager was RUDE and DISCRIMINATORY, I was not even allowed to complete the tour. She was also very ignorant regarding all ADA requirements and regulations in housing I absolutelydo not recommend this apartment building and if you are a victim of any type of discrimination you can advocate for your rights. https://www.ada.gov/ https://www.ada.gov/resources/service-animals-2010-requirements/ https://www.hud.gov/states/florida#Discrimination
