We called for a small landscaping project in our front yard. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Grand Design returned our call. We spoke to Ben[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. He asked that we pay a $100 fee just for them to come and look at the project. The fee is not refundable but it is applied to the project if you accept their bid. We said no. There was no other company who came and talked to us about the project who asked for a fee just to come out. We eventually went with someone else. Grand Design seems like they may do good work but save your $100 and call someone else. If their bid is the highest bid, you've given them $100 for nothing. There are others equally as good. If you do hire them, then you're $100 closer to paying the total. It's a gamble with your money. read more

Grand Designs landscaped our back yard. Ben created a fabulous desing for our smallish backyard. It is so very beautiful. [[HIGHLIGHT]]He met with us to pick trees, shrubs, plants, perennials. Blown away by the amazing work Grand Design just did at our house. We were in desperate need of a new driveway and Ben came out and helped design a gorgeous paver driveway for us. He was candid and easy to talk to. I didn't feel like I was getting a sales pitch but felt like I was talking to an expert who knew what he was doing. We had some drainage issues in the past and he designed a super cool invisible drain on the driveway so water doesn't pool. Once we broke ground, Victor was the project lead and was also excellent to work with. He is methodical and his attention to the little details made the project look so good. In February, we used Yelp to solicit local Landscape Contractors for a concrete driveway extension and an added backyard walkway for our grandkids to use as a scooter and electric car roadway. Also, to demolish an old rock raised planter area and an old rock retaining wall. We got bids from several Contractors and interviewed their designers. We went with Grand Design Landscape because they were local, and their designer,Ben Benesch, has been a licensed contractor for 17+ years. Ben was very professional, personable, and extremely knowledgeable. He listens well, makes great design suggestions, and was very keen to give you "the customer" what you wanted in a finished yard project. While Grand Design Landscape was not the lowest priced job bid, it was competitive and we felt they were professional, honest, and most importantly that they would ensure we get our yard project completed the way we wanted it! From the first day being on the job site, we were very impressed with Grand Design Landscape's work team; Victor and Alex exemplified the mission goals of Grand Design Landscape; they came to work each day focused on getting our yard project completed the way we wanted it; checking in daily with us that it was getting done like we wanted it. Similarly, the Concrete Team, led by Mario and Santiago, were double-checking with us at each step to ensure the Concrete driveway extension and backyard walkway extensions were as we wanted them. As a result, when all the work was finished we were extremely pleased with the finished products. And, it was all done on time and on budget!! Consequently. I would highly recommend Grand Design Landscape and Ben Benesch's Work Team for doing your yard landscaping and concrete projects! However, he called me about two hours later and offered to come to my home on Monday, January 2, 2023 to look at the job and give an estimate. We selected Grand Design to completely redo our front yard, and we're so glad we did. Ben created a beautiful design, which enabled us to remove the problematic lawn that is so difficult to keep green here in Reno. He had to deal with the additional difficulty of dense surface roots from the 20-year-old trees. Because of Ben's design, we were able to replace the lawn with an assortment of flowering shrubs and evergreens that will produce amazing colors from Spring through Fall, complemented by multicolored stone and a boulder retaining wall. Can't wait to see it all in full bloom next year! We've already received compliments on the new design from neighbors. I was very fortunate to come in contact with Ben Benesch, of Property Care Systems. January of 2021, I had to have a very beautiful maple tree cut down as all of the roots were coming to the surface destroying my front yard and driveway. I immediately started calling landscapers, most would never answer their phone, nor would they return calls. I did manage to talk to two, they came out measured my yard and that was the last I heard from them. December 2021, I came in contact with Ben, he set up an appointment to come out and see my yard, and by golly he did show up.
