If you're looking for a florist for your wedding, I strongly recommend against this one. We first met with Irish Rose (this company) in August of 2021 for a June 2022 wedding. At our first meeting, we discussed that our venue would be in Hartland, with a church nearby. We showed the florist, Mary, pictures of what we wanted. She took notes, and noted that it was not a big order, as we were only asking for flowers for the wedding party and not to decorate an entire venue. We chose Irish Rose because we wanted to support a local business and had seen their store down the road. Around April 2022, my mom went to a nearby restaurant, and noticed that Irish Rose was closed. We were never contacted about this. The restaurant told us they moved to 6& Newburgh, Danny's Flowers and Gifts. Danny then told us that Mary, the florist we initially met with, was actually off Grand River and gave us new contact information. At this point, I passed the contact information off to our wedding planners, as I am a medical student and was preparing for my first medical boards exam while my now-husband is in the Air Force in Virginia. When our planners finally got in contact with Mary, they again showed the same pictures we had originally shown her at the initial appointment. Our wedding planners began to create the "Day Of" timeline, and asked that the florists arrived at the church in Howell by 1pm, as the ceremony was to begin at 2pm. The florist said they would be there at 12pm. On the Wednesday before the wedding, we dropped off some items that we wanted incorporated into the bouquet, which the florist said would be no problem. We sent the same photos (for a third time) of what we wanted to be sure we were all on the same page. On the day of the wedding, Mary told us that she would actually arrive at the church closer to 1pm instead of 12pm. We reminded Mary that I96 and Grand River were both under construction (for weeks) and the traffic was horrific. Mary continually said she was "5 minutes out" for over an hour. She did not arrive at the church until 2:25pm, almost 2.5 hours after they said originally they would arrive, and 30 minutes after the ceremony was to begin. When the flowers arrived, they were not at all what we asked for. We had already lined up in the processional and my now husband was already walking down the aisle, because I decided after an hour of Mary saying she was 5 minutes away from the church that I didn't want to wait any longer. When she got there, the flowers were rushed to me and each bridesmaid, but the altar pieces we asked for did not make it to the altar, and the groomsmen walked without the boutonnières. After the wedding, we discussed all of the things that went wrong with Nancy, Danny, and Mary. We mentioned that it was unprofessional from the start, when they did not inform us that they were moving. They told us that we had made communication complicated by having wedding planners-however, at the time of the move we had not even introduced the florist and planners, and the wedding planners were not informed of the move. When my mom said that they were 2.5 hours late, Danny told us they were "doing us a favor" by delivering flowers to Howell, when they never mentioned that this would be an issue and we were also charged a delivery fee. We were also told that the traffic was an "act of God", when I-96 had been backed up for weeks due to construction at this point. When we told them that we did not receive a throwing bouquet or spare flowers to decorate our wedding cake that we ordered and paid for, they told us that we did receive a throwing bouquet. However, we only received the bridal bouquet and 5 bridesmaids bouquets. When it was mentioned that the flowers looked nothing like what we asked for, discussed, or showed them in pictures on 3 separate occasions, they told us that they didn't think that was what we actually wanted. We had specifically asked for exactly what we wanted the flowers to look like. It looked like they just threw together whatever flowers they had in their shop the morning of. Our biggest problem revolves around how unprofessional the entire interaction was. Not only did they not inform us they were moving, they were not honest about the situation on the day of the wedding. We continued to wait for them to arrive and our wedding started late because Mary said she was only 5 minutes away for over an hour. And after everything that went wrong, they only gave excuses rather than offering a simple apology. My tip to Danny, Mary, and Nancy is that a simple apology and showing ownership when you've messed up goes a long way. Had they acknowledged their many mistakes from the start, we likely would have moved on and not written a review. However, they were not only unprofessional but completely rude following their many mistakes and being the ONLY reason that our wedding started late.
