I…read moreunderstand that we were a difficult couple, especially due to all the restrictions with COVID guidelines. But I was hoping for a little more than we got, especially from the staff. The venue itself is beautiful. I knew as soon as we walked in that my (then) fiancee would love the place and that we were done looking at venues. The high ceilings, chandeliers, brick and hardwood... the whole aesthetic was amazing. The catering staff (the catering company owns the venue, so if you want to get married at The Estate, you have to hire Jay's Catering) was really good, and they worked with us to individually package to-go meals for our guests since we couldn't in good conscience have all of our guests eating together. Now for the difficulties. As I said before, our wedding was during COVID-19, so we dealt with a number of restrictions. We were also a difficult couple to deal with because we had to keep changing plans as the government placed greater restrictions and/or eased restrictions. We needed to be talking to the venue and catering coordinators quite a bit, as we increased and decreased guest counts and talked through all the different precautions that needed to be made. Toward the beginning of our working with them, both coordinators (Jeanne and Sierra) were very communicative and prompt, but as time wore on (and our wedding day grew closer) we were having more and more difficulty getting a hold of them. There was a point fairly early on where we realized that if I (the groom) called or emailed, I would get a terse, sometimes unhelpful response in a day or three. However, if my fiancee (the bride) called or emailed, she would get a prompt response that answered all of her questions thoroughly. As a groom who wanted to be involved in our wedding process, it was particularly irritating to be sidelined like this. The sound system wasn't what I was expecting. I help out from time to time with audio at church, so I'm used to working with venue sound systems. The Estate's sound system was set up more like a home theater. There were a few inputs, but everything was running through a central receiver rather than through a sound board. Normally this wouldn't have been a problem, but since it was COVID season, we were livestreaming the ceremony. Their system was incapable of handling that complication, so we ended up paying the livestream company an additional fee to bring in their own sound equipment so that we could have sound for both the in person attendees as well as the livestream viewers. There's a small parking lot in the back that is shared by some nearby vendors, and we were told that we'd have the whole lot (about 35 spaces) for our guests to use. When we arrived on the morning of our wedding, we were told that we were able to use about 8 spaces because the venue coordinator hadn't reserved the parking lot. We were also supposed to have a curtain that divided the main room so that the bride wouldn't be seen too early. That curtain was nowhere to be seen. After a lot of running around and numerous phone calls, our wedding coordinator discovered that the curtain had been used at a different venue the previous day (the catering company owns multiple venues) and wasn't returned. Our coordinator was able to find a spare curtain that was much smaller, but got the job done, but the whole situation left us feeling rather disappointed. So all in all, we were happy with the way things ended up looking, but there were several little things that added up to a large amount of unnecessary frustration.

Because of the complete lack of communication, we've decided to look elsewhere for a wedding venue. First impressions matter, and if a venue cannot respond to a prospective client who is simply trying to schedule a tour and receive a quote, it raises serious concerns about the level of service they provide throughout the planning process. While I can't speak to the quality of their events, I can speak to my experience as a potential customer, which was disappointing. Based on the lack of communication alone, I would not recommend this venue to other brides or families looking for a reliable and responsive wedding team.

From the start, everyone was super nice. Yanel and Jovan were super helpful and accommodating to our budget, we're very grateful that they worked with us to help make this possible. Our Day of Coordinator, Sarah, was on top of her game. From the moment we met her and we did the final layout walkthrough with her, we knew we were in good hands. Because of her, we were able to enjoy our big day knowing that whatever we needed she had under control. We did not lift one finger at all. We just had to focus on having a good time. The entire white house staff were all very professional as well. They took care of cleaning up around the venue beforehand, setting up, and cleaning up afterwards. Anything we needed, they were all on top of right away. The food was also very delicious. We've gotten all sorts of positive feedback from guests that they loved the food. We did the short rib, mashed potatoes, shrimp, and fettuccini alfredo, which all were a big hit. During the dinner service, the DJ kept the vibes going. He kept this on through the rest of the night as well, keeping a close eye on the dance floor and mixing it up to keep the energy flowing. Visually, the White House didn't catch my eye, but their sister location The Estate did, and they informed me that they work with Paracel Catering (Chinese-Vietnamese wedding banquet) so this drew us in. While The Estate was beautiful, it didn't quite fit our needs (higher guest count and indoor space) so we went to check out the White House with low expectations but open minds. The White House has 4 spaces: the first floor of the White House will host the entrance and cocktail hour, upstairs is the bridal/groom getting ready suites, courtyard, and reception hall. It was so spacious and felt like we were getting multiple venues in one. It had the outdoor ceremony space that I wanted and the Vietnamese reception that he wanted and was 10-20k cheaper than other places that had that. And it would be so convenient for us and our guests that we were only at one location all day. The upstairs was so nice. Only some places we toured had bridal suites but it's even more rare for a grooms suite and the morning of it was a little tricky not having him see me, but overall it was really nice that we were all together. And when family came and they felt like they could go upstairs, it wasn't such a big deal because the area was so spacious. The courtyard was beautiful, once it was transformed it was everything I had imagined. The only problem was that the men were all in the shade and the bridesmaids and I were all in the sun. Nothing they could do about that except maybe plant another tree for more shade. We were taking pictures, but the cocktail hour was indoor and outdoor, so that was nice that our guests had the option. The reception hall was a little tricky because it was LONG and because we had filled it with 31 tables it was really tight, but I think it looked really beautiful all filled up. Also, other venues we toured the ceilings were high so it felt like you had to decorate the ceiling, thankfully, theirs is already draped and low so there's nothing you have to do about it. I didn't eat much but we heard the food was good!! And I LOVED the LED dance floor, soooo fun!! The staff was great. The venue provides a day of coordinator so that is amazing! Unfortunately the first salesperson coordinator we were originally working with left before our wedding, but Sarah came in and did an amazing job!! The venue is BYOB so we got to save money there and the bartender gave us recommendations of how much to buy based on our bar menu. They also offer in house photography, DJ and florals if you're looking for convenient options! CONS/Things to be aware of: 1. There are two "White House"s in Anaheim so be very clear to your guests which one, two of our groomsmen went to the other one the night of our rehearsal. 2. They share the parking lot with Adventure City so the ceremony can't start until 5, which is probably great for your guests, but I would have loved to start earlier. Also, because of this, there is an overflow lot that closes at 8, so just make sure your guests move their cars before 8. 3. The reception hall is very LONG, thankfully our DJ came with us to check it out so he could be prepared. Overall, we were so happy with our experience and would absolutely recommend it!

I am a DIY bride that likes to be heavily involved with the planning so if you're looking for all inclusive this probably wouldn't be the space for you but I liked how available and communicative Emily was to all my questions. I also enjoyed the open house Saturdays from 9-11am which allowed me to visualize the space for current events happening leading up to my own wedding. I got to choose my own vendors/caterers that fit my budget and needs. I was also able to put up the papel picado (which was something I really wanted) but you must put them up and take them down yourself. The staff however sets up the table and chairs to your desired layout. The other benefits to this venue and why I chose it was it had a big bridal suite with its own bathroom for the girls to get ready, a huge kitchen with a fridge and stove for the caterer to warm up the food, and lots of bathroom stalls for men and women.
