This venue is the perfect balance of cozy and elegant. I've coordinated a wedding here before and the staff is extremely helpful, but yesterday I had a wonderful chance to sit down and dine here, and the food was just terrific. 10/10, would recommend this venue over and over again for any event.

Did a wedding here and had the absolute best time! The venue is so unique in its decor and has so much charm. They offer a shuttle/bus to take guests from the parking to the venue for easy access and travel. Staff was helpful, efficient, and kind as well. Can't wait to come back here later this year!

A dramatic, editorial silhouette of the couple's first kiss in front of the venue's signature floor-to-ceiling grid window.

As a photographer specializing in an editorial and documentary style, I found The Richland in Old Towne Orange to be an absolute masterclass in intentional design. I recently captured a wedding here, and it is a premier choice for couples who want their wedding to feel elevated, modern, and distinct. What makes this venue so special for photography is the seamless blend of historic charm and high-end modern upgrades. The restoration is stunning--you get the soul of a historic property but with a polished, eclectic aesthetic that feels incredibly refreshing and fun to experience for your stay or guest experience. From the rich textures in the getting-ready room and bridal makeup suites, to the sun-soaked courtyard, their grand staircase for a private moment, along with their cocktail lounge, every corner is a curated backdrop that lends itself to a sophisticated and nostalgic environment. The event and venue team are true professionals who understand the flow of a high-end event, while balancing exceptional hospitality for wedding weekend stays. Their attention to detail allows the couple to remain present, which is essential for me to capture those raw, documentary moments and artistic, "in-between" shots during the wedding day. For engaged couples who view their wedding as a special investment, and want a venue that feels like a boutique editorial set that truly speaks for itself, The Richland is totally unmatched in Orange County. I'm already looking forward to my next wedding weekend here with another amazing couple!

Wife and I came out for a date night. We really loved the living room vibe of the bar and how friendly the bartenders are. We both enjoy old fashioneds so we tried the different variations they had and they did not disappoint. Some negative comments were the price of a drink, granted you don't get much but their well is Old Forrester so you do get top quality spirits. We tried the chips with their dips and they were solid. I had the ceviche and really enjoyed that. The wife ordered the katsu sandwich but we wished it was crispier. Flavor was there though. What needs its own section are the fries. These were probably the best French fries I have ever had. I didn't care for the dip and wanted either just ranch or ketchup, but holy damn I would come back just for the fries. Overall really cute spot and will come back again for date night.

We held our 50 year high school reunion at The Richland. Everyone really loved the venue, best ever!

My dream was to have a wedding where everyone felt the comfort of being home and The Richland did not disappoint! The Richland is a beautiful wedding venue/small hotel. Their venue space is a great blank space that is beautiful as is or minimal enough to get as creative as you want. Outside there are two cozy outdoor spaces for guests to mingle before your event and during cocktail hour. The bridal getting ready suite is included in venue rental. They have outlets everywhere in the suite and is a good size for a group of 6 people to get ready in. The venue is managed by 24 Carrots catering. This company pleasantly surprised me with how accommodating they were to tailor the menu to the culture of me and my husband. If there was something they could not accommodate, there was no problem finding other vendors in addition to their services. Their food is delicious. The variety of their menu options is huge. And they are very transparent about working with allergies/other food restrictions of guests. Their ability to estimate how much food to prepare for the party size is perfect. It's been a week since my wedding and I continue to have guests telling me how much they loved the food. PS the bathrooms are gorgeous!!!!!

Really Enjoyed this place for happy hour. This new-ish hotel blends into Old Town Orange. The bar area feels like a cozy living room. The bartenders are very friendly and will make you a custom drink. The food we tried wasn't great. Homemade potato wedges with dips didn't taste fresh. The dips were fine. The chicken sandwich was decent but nothing crazy.

Was able to get a AAA discount at almost the last minute. The staff was terrific, although when the housekeepers saw anyone coming, they ducked away. That wasn't cool. I wasn't even looking for them, just crossing over to the stairs to get to my room & they scurried like cockroaches in the light as soon as they saw me heading their way. (There is no elevator, btw, so if you cannot do stairs ask for the 1st floor.) The staff attendant at the breakfast was so fabulous. She was really interested in ensuring guests knew what was available and making recommendations when asked. I expected packaged bagels and Costco muffins, but it was a full, freshly cooked buffet breakfast with scrambled eggs, toast, potatoes, etc. Or cereal, if you prefer. Very well done. The room was very clean & they even had a bedbug cover for the mattress, always nice to see. The only problem I had with the room was that the a/c needed to be kept at 66 & on 24/7 to cool the room to a reasonable temperature, but when I did that it worked. Part of the problem, I think, is that there is NO SHADE AT ALL, so the sun was blaring onto the a/c. Bring sunscreens for your car because it WILL get very hot. The parking lot is very well lit and felt completely safe. In the morning, I was transferring to a hotel on the Disneyland property, so I left the BW at about 7:30 a.m. -- rush hour and the drive was less than 20 minutes, no freeways necessary. So, great price, excellent location, terrific staff. Also it was an easy check-in and check-out & the manager who assisted was pretty much perfect. Would stay here again.
