We really like the food here. We like the poutine, brisket, and fish and chips. The beer is delicious too! I like the Polish touched too.

We tried the Jackson location several years ago and were not impressed, but I thought a different location and lots of time passed might make a difference. A table next to us complained about their dinner which was off of their special holiday menu for St. Patrick's Day. I was glad I ordered from the regular menu, but disappointed when the food got to our table. I ordered a Mac and cheese that came out cold and the noodles were rubbery and sticking together. I sent the food back and ordered chicken wings instead. The wings were terrible. I was told they are boneless, which is completely fine, but they are actually cut up thigh meat. When I brought this up to the manager and she clarified, she tried to make it seem like it was my fault for being misinformed. Well, last time I checked, chickens don't fly with their legs. Due to the inconsistencies of the cut up thighs, they were rubbery and I'm not convinced they were cooked all the way. I had stomach issues later that I'm not sure were food poisoning, but I had lost my appetite for the remainder of the day anyhow. They were nice enough to remove the wings and pasta from my bill, but we will not be back. read more

Came here last night with a friend as a midpoint between Kalamazoo and Lansing, turns out it was amazing! I'm not a huge beer person so I was glad that on top of brewing their own beer, they also distill their own spirits. I tried their snowball margarita with their house made agave spirit and it was great! Tasted almost like a blend between a white russian and a margarita; a comforting drink to have with friends. The food equally did not disappoint. While I did enjoy the smoked pork shoulder I expected it to be a bit more smoked than how it came out - the smokiness might have also been reduced due to the bbq sauce on it so might get that on the side next time. The true star of this dish was the garlic mashed potatoes though. It was amazing - I couldn't stop eating it. For any vegetarians or anyone looking for a break from a meat-centric dish, the goat cheese/spinach/mushroom/pepper quesadilla was incredible. It was a Monday so ... but the food and service were so far off from what we had experienced at the Jackson location. Wont be cominf back.

This was an adorable spot and our second one on the way home. I will say that there was a hell of a lot more than 5 oz in each pour of my beer flight. Upon seeing this he started getting understandingly nervous. So I behaved and ordered some delicious fries. I also got a discount from checking in because of yelp. Yes please! Thinking back, I should have ordered more food. Because this is all going to start going down hill from here. My reviews are going to be like, "it was cool".waning I can't remember... *Sighs. But either way, I had a great time. And this was a cools spot. They had drapes that were permanent. So social distancing was easy. The bar was super cute. I already left a Google review once. Can't make another one so I updated that one. But since I want to write another, here I am. If you read this, you need to go in and ask for Tyler. The best server I have ever had honesty. We came back on Valentines day and got Tyler again (per our request) after having him as our server once before. He recommended the mushrooms and the Bacon wrapped fillet. Not a fan of mushrooms so we passed. However we did get the fillet. That needs to be a permanent item, and Tyler needs a raise or something. I don't write many reviews on here anymore, but my family and I had such a great experience at Grand River Brewery. I was surprised they didn't have a higher yelp rating and felt I needed to do my part to let everyone know this place is amazing! The food was great! Flavors and selection were amazing. We have two young kids and usually kids meals are bland and just something restaurants throw on the menu. The kids meals here had so much flavor and the portions were huge. Not to mention that kids eat free on Sunday's so they cost us nothing! (Our had the quesadilla and Mac and cheese. Strongly recommend both! Mac and cheese is almost like Alfredo sauce with ziti noodles.) I had the fish tacos and really enjoyed them. My wife ordered the turkey rueben. She loved the sandwich. After she had been eating it for about 5 mins, a manager walked up and asked if it tasted like she expected. Turns out they accidentally gave her a turkey club. My wife didn't even notice and really liked the turkey club. But they gave her a full turkey Rueben meal to take home and eat that later for free anyway. Great food. Great people. Great beer. We went on Wednesday before thanksgiving on wing night with a party of 12. The wings were excellent, but they only have two sauces (Buffalo and bbq). I did struggle with the menu and we eventually decided on the nachos (had to add jalapeño$.50), wings, and a phatty melt. All of the food was really good! The service was great as well. I didn't like my first beer (cherry red), but loved the seasonal deer camp ipa. I had to order some to go! They can it while you wait and they get $26 a 4 pack!!! A bit on the pricey side, the waitress told me they would be $4.00 each normally, but with 25% off I ended up paying $6.00 each...not sure what happened there?? It's not bad, but it's not our favorite restaurant downtown. The wait for food is always so long, which is really what makes the experience not the best. The food I've tried is okay--burgers, fries, tacos, breakfast poutine--is okay, but never excellent, especially for the price. The biggest complaint though is always how long it takes. read more

Brought our family here after an event in a nearby city. We had a large table and they accommodated us with no problem. Our server was friendly and the food was fantastic!! Our table tried everything from the Turkey Rueben, wings, Mac and cheese, burgers, and poutine. Everything was excellent!! Drinks were on point too. I never have posted a review on Yelp but today I felt like I should. Because I used this app to find this place. The only positive thing about this place is the waitresses. The first table we were at was sticky, dirty and kept tilting from side to side. Then we ordered chips n salsa and they were terrible! Worst salsa I've ever had and the chips were just meh. We should of stopped there and paid the bill but instead we ordered lunch. HUGE MISTAKE! And between the flies landing on you, the burnt Mac n cheese and the soggy fries we left and have been feeling "sick" ever since. I heard a lady at a table on the way out talk about her gross salsa and I stopped and said "you should send it back, ours was sour and nasty and the food wasn't any better!" Good Luck! What a disappointment. Came home to spend time for my mothers birthday. Eating out is not an option, so we bought food at GRB. 1st complaint - you have to get all the way through ordering and paying before finding out how long. 1 hour to make the food. Ugh. I get there - and it's not even busy. Complaint 2: we ordered 5 walleye fish dinners. 1 piece of fish and 25 fries & a TB of coleslaw was $16. Stopped by here after hearing great things from some friends, and it lived up to their reviews! Our server was very attentive and gave suggestions for beers to try based on our preferences. The beers were very good, although I wish I'd tried a flight to sample a few more of them. I had the Grand Bacon Jam burger and it was amazing! A delicious combination of flavors. I'm so glad that the server talked me into the chronic fries with it, I don't think I'll ever be able to go there and not get them after trying them! We went at around 6 pm on a Friday night, and they were a little busy. Understandable. We were told it would be a 25 minute wait for our group of three. I asked if the empty four top table in the dining area was spoken for, and we were told it was. We waited the 25 minutes. Through the entire wait that table remained empty. Could have used some garlic, butter, salt snd pepper. Could have been pan Sauteed or grilled to create a good browning or crust. It was served with plain white chewy rice. The asparagus was cooked to a charred shriveled state. Husband ordered 1/2 rack ribs with french fries. The ribs were tender but the sauce seemed to be applied heavily when served- not cooked onto the ribs. He had to scrape off the excess. For the price we paid there is a lot of room for improvement. We wish the owners/operators of this Brewery much success, however, It might help to consult with someone more experienced with preparing good food. read more

Our party tried looking at the menu online prior but when we got to the restaurant we noticed that their online menu isn't even correct. Let me first say, the whole staff was great, especially coming off a holiday night. You could tell this crew was pushing, but the politeness, smiles and energy was that of a place you want to be, not just a place you go. James was attentive and friendly. Clemmie stole the show and was excellent at balancing service with customer service. The food was good, the drinks cold, the conversation on the dot. Really great! We stopped here while passing through and we were totally impressed. They are doing a great job with Covid restrictions. Service was great. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. Food was great. Pretzel sticks = yum! Cheese curds= yum! Burgers were good. Hubby got the Mac and cheese with chicken. Seriously the flavor was soooooo good. I'm so happy I stopped at this place for dinner. I had a rough day because my car broke down in Olivet, Mi. I got a tow truck and it brought me to Marshall. I have been working on Mackinac Island for the summer and was driving through, but anyways I was super hungry and found this gem of a brewery! The bar tender was very friendly, she recommended the max and cheese which was absolutely delicious and not too rich. I added chicken and asparagus and both were cooked perfectly. I also had the chronic fries which were crispy and flavorful. I also indulged in a flight, which consists of 5 samples ! I tried some very interesting things, one was a brown ale with jalapeño and was perfectly balanced with flavor. The Strawberry rhubarb sour was my favorite which is a sour. I went back the next day and had an Americanpale ale with basil! It was called Planet basil, and it was perfect! I also had a really nice salad for lunch as well which was their salad with chicken, black beans, corn and tortillas. Definitely recommend! read more

Lots of options available for gf and vegan. Nachos arrive by friendly server and I am sold. Maybe the best nachos I've ever had, with black bean patty. Friend got a brunch huevos rancheros and cleaned her plate. Best part was the guy with the cowboy hat, who checked on us a couple of times, double checked our food needs were accommodated and was just a delight. This place equaled some of my A2 favorites, but we'd NEVER get the quality service and attention as we received. GR Brewery reminds me to keep my bias of small towns in check. Great experience here for having a large group of 20 people and the service was still incredible. Everyone was very quick and attentive which is hard to do with groups. Food was pretty good we got a few Heart Attack Macs with Pulled Pork and few different Burgers as well. Poutine was a little disappointing with chunks of cheese that weren't melted not sure if it was supposed to be like that but it wasn't it. Cocktails felt a little too watered down especially the old fashioned you want to get the most for your money. Probably would've been better to try a beer here instead. Overall experience and value were good here. We had a great experience with our servers and this restaurant being so accommodating. Also loved the idea of using tablets as menus made it easier to read and click on items you want to learn more about. Because there aren't a lot of spots nearby to go to, this makes this a gem for many locals. For being in the middle of nowhere Marshall, Michigan it is definitively the place to be! read more

The worst experience I have ever had. Went in on a Friday night and of course I was expecting to wait but when people behind us on the list were going before us and the people were saying five more minutes It kind of felt personal. We were seated after 45 minutes when the wait time was 30 and another 50 minutes to get my appetizer, which was basically $12 microwavable cheddar curds.
