First time there today and it's very nice inside, it's clean , the food is excellent and the service was amazing My husband had a burger and I had a club grinder that was out of this world. This use to be one of my favorite bars in Jackson. The service was good and friendly, the food good (homemade salad dressing!), and the atmosphere was fun. I came in today to be sat at a sticky table. I let it go as these seem to be the original tables and thought maybe they need to be refinished. I ordered tequila and forgot to ask what the house is... BAD mistake. Mr. Boston is the house. The ONLY reason I even know what that is, is because my family lives in a college town and some of the college bars sell it for $2 dollar shots. I would have never guessed that a bar for adults would serve Mr. Boston. Last the salad. The dressing still tastes homemade and the salad itself was delicious. It was just work once I started finding the rotten pieces on my fork. Would I come back? Maybe in a few years to see what's changed but it's definitely not in my list of places to visit. Came in on a Saturday afternoon, was sat immediately. Served came over to ask about drinks and appetizers. Put those in right away, which I love, so your appetizers come out well before your food. Food came out quickly as well. It is semi loud, but to be expected on the weekend and it's a bar. This is under the wings category (Bone in). I have tried pretty much all the chicken wing opportunities in the Jackson area. Some very good choices here in Jackson. I do believe in my opinion the Chase in downtown Jackson is by far the best. The cost and the quality of the wing can't be challenged. Absolutely horrible time At this restaurant. We waited an 1 1/2 for a sandwhich, appetizer and then was told an hour later the appetizer fed ordered wasn't available. Our waitress was not apologetic neither was the manager. The restaurant was full not busy at all. People who walked in while we were seated got their food before us in 30 minutes. I wouldn't recommend anyone go here. we waited over an hour for our food only to finally be told it was lost three times by the kitchen supposably and that when we said forgot it the general manger came over to say oh we will be happy to take the food off the bill. Like that was even a question and for the inconvenience they couldn't even give us any sort of discount on our drinks or appetizer because it was against their policy. Ordered burgers, got home bite into them and they were raw and all the condiments were wrong. Business refuses to remake said they will give us a discount off our next order. Out of $33 (I'm usually not the type to put companies on blast and they initially said they would take care of it but they're singing a new song today lol. make sure you guys always get picture proof or video or they will not do anything about it and you will be out of your hard working money.) we did everything right as customers but I guess not taking a photo is our mistake, the initial phone call went great because we were just in to grab them so they knew but now that it's a different day (it's been 1 1/2 days btw) and a manager it's a different unsatisfying response. Even took ownership and said it was there mistake but as a customer I guess it doesn't matter. I would say great for drinks at night but when we went in for a quick bite to eat during the lions game the service was horrible and we were sitting at the bar, two separate customers walked away because either their food was taking too long or they were even approached to put an order in It took over and hour for us to get our food and it was okay. Food is OK, you can't hear the waitress or think for the pop music blaring at 100 decibels like a night club but at 11am, totally asinine. Great if you are by yourself and have earplugs. Decided to give this place a try as we had heard good things... well I should have read the reviews first. Overall the food was not terrible I would say 7/10, and the service was ok. But I'm giving them 2 stars because I ordered a meal, and only ate half of it as it was filling. Got a to go box and put the other half in there... left and got to my car (right out front) less than a minute....Realized I didn't have my food and my husband ran back in. They had already seated someone at our booth. First of all... how did you even properly clean it when we JUST walked out??? And then... if I asked for a to go container, why not hold it for 10-15 minutes to see if I came back?? If I didn't want my food... I would have just had you throw it away. And like I said the food was ok... not great. Not super upset I didn't have the leftover, but our bill was $50 for two meals and two beers! Bar was not social distancing and no one wore masks once they got up from their table. Many patrons came in without a mask and nobody asked them to mask up. The food here was fine, but nothing special. The broccoli cheddar bites are cheese curds with tiny flecks of broccoli in them. A good idea, but only decent in execution. The service was downright awful. We sat at the bar, which you would think would actually help, but I don't recommend it. It took a good 10 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge us- and the place was not busy at all. The bartender spent our entire meal having a conversation with another employee and not taking a break to look around, so it was impossible to make eye contact to get her attention, and she didn't come check on us at all. By the time we finished eating, we literally had to call out to her to interrupt her conversation to ask for the bill. It made me feel rude, even though I'm aware that SHE was the jerk here, not me. With the service we had, the food would have needed to be outstanding for us to want to return. Needless to say, we'll frequent other places in the area instead. read more

Great food, decent prices and a fun and exciting atmosphere. Only complaint on my end is that every time we go the waiters and waitresses seem to ignore you for the most part. My wife and I have given every attempt over the years to enjoy Chase. However over the last year we have had more bad experiences than good. The food has been mostly good, but our service has been severely lacking. Miscommunication on "cheese bread" and receiving cheese sticks, and not having cheese bread available until we are ready to leave is one of them. Having a beer spilled by the waiter and saying "you're good it didn't get you" when yes, it clearly did... No apology at all. Today we ordered an appetizer of cheese bread, which didn't come out until we asked what the status was, and then came out after our meal. All of this after waiting a half an hour, and didn't see our burger that had no cheese, when it should have and salads until we asked about them. Waited for oo Had one waitress miscount our group dining experience in order to get a higher charge due to their 'limit' to the number of individuals for the party. Found out the scummy waitress gets the added fee as a tip. Sounds great. When addressing this with the manager he was a completely rude asshole who did not communicate well with the group At all. Finally we asked to speak with the owner who made further false accusations reportedly reviewing the videos to 'prove' we didn't meet the required limit to avoid the fee. The number in error was one person off and they wanted to charge the group $100. TLDR; don't do group events here EVER, if you want food that isn't frozen go to Grand River Brewing which is 1 block away. A big group of us went on a Sunday evening. Service was terrible never have I had such terrible service. They were out of Fries and onion rings. We all placed our order and appetizers. Some received their food before the appetizers or salads. Never received refills on our drinks. Had took our own glasses up and ask for refills. They sent someone to the store for fries. Served the table behind us burgers and fries. Never asking us would we like fries that was suppose to come with some of our orders. A group of us women get together every two months and try different restaurants. This place was highly recommended by some in our group which had been there before. They couldn't believe the kind of service we were receiving. Food was good but not good enough for us to ever go back. May be ok for a couple of people. Food was awful! Sick for two days. We Asked for a thin crust pizza to have a burned crust. After a ridiculously amount of waiting time - and requesting yet again to be Specifically toasted beyond normal - they couldn't pull it off. I Had ordered from the bar a long island ice tea. Top shelf to boot. It tasted only like poor quality tequila. I have alot of experience with top shelf tequila as i am well traveled to mexico. But After trying to doctor it up with a coke in which i asked for specifically for this reason i was also charged for the coke. However no success on making it drinkable. Sent the drink back to have another long island come back tasting like sour mix. The worst drink ever. However - Thats not the problem! As soon as i walked out towards the truck - i puked 5x on way to the truck just to get to the truck and my buddy pukes along side too. No exaggeration either. We are assuming it was from the cheese ball appetizer because its the only thing we shared. At least the service was ok but id never go back here. Nice atmosphere - can get a little loud but it's a sports bar what do you expect. The food is good...can't go wrong with the ranch. Yummy burgers and cheese bread. They have a pretty good selection for a kids menu. The meals come with a cookie and are served on frisbees that the kids can take home. Both of the kids were happy with their meals. The pizza is also very good here as well and they even have a mini pizza for the kids. Great experience and if the kids are happy, how can you go wrong. read more

The Chase was incredibly underwhelming. We went there for pub food after voting yesterday evening. It was about 7:00 p.m. and they were far from busy. We sat at the bar and were blatantly ignored by the three bartenders who ran in-and-out from behind the bar. We were making eye-contact and they simply didn't bother to say anything - not even a "be with you soon." After about ten minutes, a gal said she'd be with us soon. This level of service persisted throughout the evening. We had to practically beg for our bill while one of the bartenders just leaned back and gabbed with another employee. The food was completely subpar. I ordered the classic cheese burger and waffle fries. The bartender didn't write the order down, so I thought she was just good at remembering orders. Alas, when I got my meal, they brought out regular fries and a cheese burger without cheese. The taste was bland and exactly what I'd expect from a mediocre pub burger, but at $10 for the burger and fries, you'd think they'd at least get the order right. Jackson is starting to experience an influx of good places to eat/drink. Going here is a waste when you could head over to Roadhouse, Poison Frog, Oak Tree or various other places. read more

I just had the worst experience at Chase Bar on Michigan Ave in Jackson, Mi. The bartender was the rudest individual I've ever experienced in the many restaurants I've visited. I do not know his name as he wouldn't divulge. He was more interested in chatting with the men at the bar and when I would ask for something he would slam it on the bar. His actions have costed the Chase a customer and potentially several more as word spreads with his behavior. Good luck surviving Chase! read more

New bar and grill in downtown Jackson I wasn't even aware of. We stopped by last week while visiting family in the area. The food was above average and our server Lucas was very attentive with a positive attitude. One of the owners actually came around on a few occasions to check in with our table which shows they care about customer service. The story about the Miller Lite NASCAR with Rusty Wallace's signature was another nice touch. The only downside is that the place wasn't full and our party of 9 had an extended wait to be seated since I don't think they were adequately staffed. I had such high hopes for this place. The interior was pretty cool and once we were sat our waitress quickly got to us to get our drink order. She'd was really bubbly and fun so we felt good about dinner. Then our appetizer arrived. We had ordered chips and salsa with cheese dip (for an extra $1) and it was disappointing. The salsa tasted like it was GFS picante sauce and the cheese was fairly gelatinous and very yellow. We also had to put salt on our tortilla chips because they tasted like cardboard, at least with the salt it was salty cardboard. For dinner we got a personal pizza and the chipotle burger. The pizza was fine despite it having marinara sauce not pizza sauce on it. However, if you like pizza with obnoxious amounts of cheese and frozen crust this is the one for you. The burger was a big let down. The precut, frozen patty was not seasoned and tasted like a dry sadness. The Mayo didn't really taste like chipotle mayo rather just mayo. But the bacon was good. The French fries tasted like they came out of bag in the freezer and not warmed up for long enough. That entire meal (plus an ice tea and a Dr Pepper) came to about $30. It's wasn't bad but it also wasn't worth $30. It was food, not terrible food, but also not good food. Everything was either frozen, precut or from GFS. Walked in yesterday at 8:30 PM (they close at 11PM) to unfortunate, petty BS. Waitress 1 was told her shift was over and to clean up and go home. However, Waitress 2 (the one scheduled to work until close), just flat out REFUSED to serve us (we're among some of the most laid back, easy diners to deal with, so easy 20% tip for her was her loss, and not sure if this was a RACIAL thing but it felt very personal) and she continued to serve those who were seated after us (they happened to be much lighter pigmented than me). The manager had to yell at both waitresses for one of them to help us. Finally Waitress 1, out of the kindness of her heart, waited on us. This is after they already made it awkward and unpleasant for us. I don't need to spend $50 to be treated this way even though Waitress 1 was kind about it.
