Prices are reasonable and gets picked up twice a week like clock work. No issues and we've been using for 2 or 3 years now.

Well, for being on the upper end of the price range, your service better at least function. No trash pick up for four weeks because some driver thought I was disposing of construction waste. i call the first time, they tell me they'll pick it up. Doesn't happen. Garbage still piles up btw- I still have the three snack-pack-waste-generating children I have had for years mkay, and soon my yards going to start reminding me of the verrazano bridge in early summer if you know what i mean. I call again and talk to a manager about the situation- I explain to her that whomever it is at that company that keeps passing down its greed issues to its customers is going to lose business. They send another truck. I just happened to be home, so I ask the guy who calls the shots on what bags get picked up and why (he does ). After telling him that I don't have construction waste and he needs to pick up the garbage I'm paying for, he proceeds to tell me that I'm overpaying for my service. You know what they say "when people tell you who they are, BELIEVE THEM." I call the office, cancelled my service, talked to another manager (the last one quit- shocking) who told me i should give her another chance (because entitled people are everywhere). So now I'm paying less for a different garbage carrier because someone's phoning it it for money (with a massive ego). oh...I don't recommend this service. And I've already talked to two people there- I don't need to waste any more of my time Rich. Get your business together. read more

I switched to Grand Sanitation a few months ago and couldn't be happier with my decision! Honestly, I switched because of the price (they are half the price of competitors AND pick up twice a week). However, I continue to be pleasantly surprised by the superior customer service Rich and team provide. They are exceptionally responsive (have always answered email inquiries seemingly the same day). I signed up for Grand for my home trash pickup after seeing first hand how good their commercial service is for the company that I work for. When we call for an issue such as a missed pickup, they take care of it fast. As for my home service, zero issues for almost 9 years now. Called a few times for bulk pickup of couches, bed, etc. and they were there on the day and time window stated. Regular weekly pickups are like clockwork and pricing is great. read more

We have had a few garbage companies since moving to NJ in 2009. The prior company wouldn't even pass our house, only look down the block to see if the can was out. This caused several missed pick-ups and some frustrating phone calls. We switched to Grand and it has been pretty smooth since. Great! Always on time and never missed a pick up!

I have been a customer since January of 2000 and up until now the service has been fine. Some missed pick ups here and there but nothing major and when we call they would send someone to pick it up. Well after our 4th of July party they decided I had too much garage and it would be considered "bulk pickup", keep in mind we usually have 1 or 2 tall kitchen size bags every other time of the year. This was 5 bags of regular size, 32 gallon I think, and they refused to take it on a regularly scheduled day. I called and was told we'd be put on a "hot list" pick up route. Well Saturday comes and goes without a pickup. Call again and asked that they come on Monday and the heat is making for an awful smell, no pickup on Monday and then out regular pickup day comes again on Tuesday and once again they try and leave it behind. Wife had to chase the truck down the block with out neighbor and still had to call the office in order for the driver to stop and take the bags!!!! Almost 20 years of payments, tips every Christmas and this is what we get. Thanks Grand I'll be moving on to a new company now!!! read more

If I could give no stars, I would. This place is awful and is, unfortunately, one of the three trash services for Berkeley Heights, NJ, where I live. I joined them in the fall, and had to call multiple times for them to actually come and pick up my trash. Who ever calls their trash company? I went on vacation the first week of December and from then until March they never once picked up my garbage. NOT ONCE. I signed up with another company and forgot all about them until they had the audacity to send me a bill. Called, cancelled, they checked with their driver who confirmed they never picked up my trash. Now, a month later, they're trying to get me to pay for this service. They didn't pick up my trash for THREE MONTHS! Filing a complaint with the BBB (where they already have one complaint, wish I had checked). Infuriating... read more

I work for this company and totally believe in them. The owner cares for his customers and does what it takes to keep them. We employ local drivers and office staff that take pride in their job and are true professionals. Any issues are resolved quickly. Our pricing is overwhelmingly lower than the big guys with more personalized service, clear communication and accountability. read more

RAISE FEE WITHOUT NOTIFYING CUSTOMER Our auto pay notice shows there is an increase on our bill. However, we didn't get any notice of price increase in advance. The company's official website even still listed the original fee. That means, the company took extra money without letting us know in advance. It was not huge money so it certainly won't let the company lose its customer. However, it surely breaks the trust between Grand and its customer. Moreover, the company simply deleted our complain in their social networking service website. FRAUD? We use Grand's service for a while. Although there was some issues in the beginning, the company managed to respond to us and solve those problems. We are happy with the company until today. I don't know why the company suddenly decide to drop the quality of its customer care. read more

From what I gather my garbage company was sold to Grand Sanitation, to start, I was sent a bill 2 weeks before I was notified that they were changing hands, so I thought it was a scam and I tossed the bill out, but that's besides the point. I put my garbage out, 3 days in a row, I called every day to ask why it wasn't picked up, and every day it was 1 story or another. Finally it was picked up, next pick up day, didn't pick it up. I was given several more excuses, yes I get they took on more clients and there are bugs to work out, but after reading all the negative reviews, i could see why. So after the 3rd or 4th time I called to cancel, didn't even ask me if to stay with them or anything, whatever. Horrible service. I would give no stars if I could. read more

Horrible experience with this company. Their customer service is horrific! They ignore requests and the woman are incompetent. I need my garbage can replaced because of damage and will not replace. They have been promising and they don't show up. I do not recommend this company. read more

For the most part, the service is good, however, when it rains, the lids should be closed and after the trash is collected, don't leave the can in the middle of the street. Put it back where it was, or at the end of the driveway as it's unsafe in the street. read more

The communication of this company is abysmal. They have proven to be one of the most frustrating companies I've ever been dealt with. I moved to Cranford only a few weeks ago and started my service with them, fully paid upfront. They missed my first pick up on a Friday and I called them that afternoon. They did come pick it up that weekend at some point. However, this was the end of any success. They missed my garbage pick up on Tuesday. I called on Wednesday and was told they'd pick it up that day. They didn't. I called again Thursday and was told they'd come that day. They didn't. They then missed my regular pick up on Friday, again. I called again and was told they'd come that weekend. They didn't. Lastly, they AGAIN missed my pick up on the next Tuesday. In short, I had the same garbage on my lawn from Monday til over 8 days later, even though I called the company a total of five times. Ridiculously incompetent. I am a patient person but this is an incredibly below-standard customer service. I switched service last week and will never look back. So if you're signing up for this company, don't expect a painless experience--or even for your garbage to be picked up. read more

My only complaint is when a holiday falls on the first pick up day, we have to wait for our second pick up, which around the holidays does cause problems. Other companies only offer once a week pick up. Love that we have two times a week. read more

We have been using this company for the last 5 years. In terms of regular trash pick, we have not had any problems. There may have been one time that for whatever reason our trash wasn't picked up, but it was picked up shortly after calling the office to let them know. My only not so great experience with this company was from arranging a bulk trash pick up this past summer. I called the office and was told to take a picture of the items to be picked up and email them to someone at the office, who would then send me an estimate. I had to call to follow up with the office several times before I received the estimate, which took more than a week. Once I did and was told when to bring the items to the curb the night before to be picked up, the items were never picked up. I called to follow up, and was told they would come the next day, but then again, no one came to pick them up. The items were finally picked up about a week or more after they were originally scheduled to. The last person I spoke to at the office had told me they would deduct $10 from the estimate because of the mixup, but when I received the bill, it was still the original amount. At that point, I was tired of calling the office. Other than that one issue, this company is reasonable and mostly reliable. read more

They missed picking up my garbage yesterday. I contacted them and still have not heard anything and my garbage is still sitting there. Have asked numerous times about getting a second container since we often have a lot of brush from our trees and shrubs and they don't pick up the contractor bags unless they are in a container. They didn't take my second container - not supplied by them - the last pickup although apparently they did knock the container around since the lid is falling off....frustrated. read more
