We had my daughter's sweet 16 party on 6/25/2022. It was a hot day and the air conditioning was barely working. At the end of the night, not one but two bottles of half used liquor, Ciroc and Hennessy were suddenly missing. Had these two things not happened, I would've given 4, maybe 5 stars. What we were satisfied with isn't worth mentioning. I will not recommend this venue to anyone. read more

First, I like to say the venue is beautiful. I had my daughters Sweet 16 here March 11, 2022. This is a family owned business and every one I mean every one down to the security was very nice and helpful. I rented the venue, used the catering service and bar. The food was delicious and until today people are asking me who cooked the food. Belkis I believe that's how you spell her name and her sister Miriam were very attentive to my needs, they listen to my vision can gave me what I asked for and more. The decoration was sooooooo beautiful my daughter loved the decorations and said she actually felt like a princess. They definitely understood the assignment. The customer service is superb. The manager kedwin who I believe is the son of Belkis was very nice, understanding and he went above and beyond to make my daughter have her grand entrance by allowing her to get dressed in one of there other dressing rooms. Wendy and Karen who also work there were very nice and helpful in decorating the candy buffet and the tables with the items I wanted added to the tables. There was not anything I've ask of this family and they told me no. This is a venue I would definitely recommend. I'm still after 6 days getting compliments on the decor, food, ambiance etc. I'm so very with my choice in picking Grand Slam Banquet hall in the BRONX. I love them and I loved how I was treated as a customer. read more

Miriam decorated the hall for my wedding ceremony and reception, it was amazingly beautiful. She has the sweetest personality. She's highly talented in her field and she caterers to you exactly how you want things to be done! I so love her! Pedro, was very thorough with the way I needed things done for the day and night of my wedding. He catered to me and my family and friends as if we were his own! He was very patient and kind. He's an amazing person. He was willing to do what it took to make sure I had what I needed! Belquis, was very helpful when financial struggles came about. She was so understanding and she did everything she could to make my wedding affordable. She made sure the both of us came out on top! She's so kind and such a wonderful person. The whole staff (hostess and team) treated me and my husband like we were family and that made us feel great about spending such a large amount of money with them for such a special moment in our life. I went here for SoBro's Christmas party it was a very well put together function. The food was snagging the music was good and the hall is very spacious. If you was to throw a event at this hall I highly recommend it. read more

I had my Paris themed baby shower in Grand Slam Banquet Hall may 31st and if there's one word I had to use to describe it I will most definitely use PERFECT! I loved everything about it. The decor was amazing extremely detailed and just what I had envisioned. The staff is very accommodating so helpful and pleasant. They go above and beyond to give their clients what they want and they definitely exceeded my expectations. At first my husband and I were a bit hesitant because of the prices but I can honestly say it is 100% worth it. You get exactly what you pay for, class, elegance and perfection. I recommended to anyone who wants to have an over the top amazing event. Grand Slam is the way to go! Huge thank you to the staff for making my baby shower so special and memorable. The owner/management for this place is extremely inconsiderate, money hungry, unprofessional and just simply horrible. Would never rebook this place nor recommend it. You have to be on top of them just to simply organize your event with what you want as in food and decorations. It is extremely pricey for a customer to literally have to remind them what needs to be done and when can the preparations be decided!! Their cancellations policy is a JOKE!!! They dont care if the person that booked the event died literally they will not do anything to accommodate their customers or even consider the fact that things happen! As a business and just simply people they are terrible, they just care about the money unlike other places that would at least give back a percent of the money! Just a corrupt business! read more

Not a bad low budget space to have a sweet 16 or birthday party for kids batty about baseball. This banquet hall shares the building with batting cages, so be prepared for kids running around in baseball uniforms, and Spanish music blasting across the elevator. Space itself was clean and manageable. there is an elevator, and the room itself is alittle bare but has nice blue lit decor hanging from the ceiling to make it place look more interesting. read more

Its a nice space but too pricey for the location. This hall is definitely great for a Sweet 16 and NOT a child's birthday party. They were trying to charge me $1500 for a child's party, 4 hours, on a sunday afternoon, for 50 people. I viewed this space about 2 weeks ago with my fiance', while looking for a venue for our 2017 wedding. I liked the space downstairs, however, the space upstairs along with all of the bathrootms in this place could use a slight face lift. The smell of mildew was very disturbing when we walked up the stairs, and the bar area looked ran down. To me, the price was ok for what they were offering, but didn't like the idea of paying an extra $200 for parking the day of my event. Overall, there was some small issues, I wouldn't have my wedding here, but a baby shower, or sweet 16, I def. would. read more

This place is a great venue for a large party & for very special occasions for ex: sweet 16, wedding reception things of that sort. If you are just planning a regular party please be advised you will spend a pretty buck. They have awesome decor and packages that include everything (food drinks decor etc ). & the yelp discount really does work! read more

I had the pleasure of holding a number of events at the Bronx location of the Grand Slam. When I describe this place to my contacts, friends and family, I call it the hidden jewel of the Bronx. From the outside, you wouldn't expect to find what's on the inside. From the beginning, meeting with Belkis, Miriam & Pedro, I felt extremely comfortable and confident in them. The price is decent, especially since you get more than what you pay for in the ambiance of the room when it is decorated. My first event was back in 2012 with them and since then I had 2 more events at the Bronx location and I am looking forward to the next 3 events in the upcoming year or two. The decorations package is amazing, Miriam is very talented and can make your idea become a reality! For one of my events, I wanted to be surprised and boy was I !! I don't think I could've picked the colors and decor better! With the changes that have been made to the room in regards to the bathroom & floors, it makes the place even more nice. As soon as you step off the elevator, it's as if you are taken into a whole new world, the lighting is nice and everything! The atmosphere is wonderful on both floors and the overall satisfaction that I got from having such successful events has been the driving force for me to continue booking with the Grand Slam. The venue itself is close to I-95 and a number of local buses, it really was easy to get to. This is a family based establishment and you leave feeling as if you are a part of it. I highly recommend this venue if you want to be swept off your feet with beauty and comfort! I am confident in this establishment to continue on doing great business. In conclusion if you are looking for a nice place to hold an event that blow the socks off of your guests...look no further, because the Grand Slam is a home run!!! read more

I planned my daughter sweet sixteen and I was very excited doing it. We found this place online and my daughter loved how it looked. I rented the place and the tablecloths only because I had already all the decoration. I was told by one of the managers in charge that I only had 2 hours prior to the event to decorate, which I thought was ok, BUT if no one rented the space a week before my event, which was a Thursday, I could have all day to do it. So i called a week before and they confirmed nobody else rented the hall for that day, they told me to bring my decorations early that day and start decorating. I called the day before to let them know at what time I'm coming to decorate and they told me: oh no you can't because some organization rented it for the day, come 2 hours before your event. You can imagine my frustration, i had already planned everything for my daughter special day. Anyways, we just went with the flow. It was already 2 hours before my event and the other event was still going so my husband started bringing the food, which some of them magically disappeared. Then they were supposed to leave me two long tables for the cake outside, but the management and staff had a very important (Yankee game to go to and forgot to do it), so I spoke to the "security guard" who phoned someone and told him where the tables were. Everything else went well, thank God. Since I bought all decorations, except for the tablecloths, I started packing my stuff to bring them back home. Their staff ( "securityguards") started packing their table cloths as well. With all the packing I had to do I didn't noticed I didn't take my chair sashes,100 in total plus my 2 silver and one rose gold curtains that I used as picture backdrop for the selfie section. I didn't realize they were missing until almost 4 months after when I started to look for them for my friend's baby shower. I called Grand Slam and according to them, they were going to look for them and called me back, which THEY NEVER DID, I called them again and they say they don't know about my pink sashes, 2 silver, one rose gold curtains. So this is my experience with this place. They're very irresponsible and unreliable. I'm planning my son's 18 birthday somewhere else. read more

I'm going to start off by saying this review is solely based on the insensitive customer service. I booked this venue for my baby shower and was really excited planning it. Unfortunately, due to an emergency health scare, I gave birth to my son at 7 months and lost him just 13 days later. As you could imagine, my husband and I were devastated. My husband went to the manager to cancel and explain our situation, even providing documentation from the social worker at the hospital of my sons death. When my husband told me, they would not return our money and said we could only get a $500 credit to be used within the year, I was pissed. We had other vendors for our shower and every one of them returned our money regardless of their cancellation policy because they were sensitive to the situation. I can't believe how these individuals could be so insensitive, heartless and extremely greedy to keep our money and not refund us. I am very aware of cancellation policies but you as a manager or owner of this business can make the decision to void the contract in the event of a death as every other vendor had done for us. How insensitive can you be! Especially people who have a huge family picture in the office where they bring their potential clients. If you are considering having your event here, just know the people you are doing business with. read more
