Writing this review as a patient visitor. My dad recently had surgery here. GSMC is a big hospital…read morethat offers lots of heathcare services like an emergency room, a Cardio unit, and more! They also have a cafeteria. It is located off of Highway 17 and is easy to get to. As far as parking goes, they do have a big lot, and also a vallet if needed. I visited twice, and entered via the south entrance. Here they also checked us in, asked for Id, took our photo and was given a vistors pass. Both times i visited (one on 7/30/26 and another on 8/02/2026) The security person at check in was very nice. I was also with someone and knew where to go, but the security person also provides directions. Only quam is that it is chilly in hospitals, and highly recommend to bring a Jacket or something. Also, i'm surprised that there is no map of the hospital around- if i was by myself, and perhaps bad at directions, I feel that I would get lost in there! Anyways, found my dad's room in the cardio unit okay. Another thing is that there is only 2 chairs in the room, and if people want to stay long there should be another chair of some sort. At the visit of 7/30, someone needed to stand because we were 3 people. Oh, and met the surgeon and the nurse and everyone was nice. The nurse was also nice because it was time to remove some tubes that were in my dad, and she was explaining what she was doing and had a calming demeanor. Glad to see- although sort of wish I didn't have to see that because my dad said ow when the tube was out. Some people don't like seeing their family members in pain like that. Anyways. Oh and used the restroom on the south strand side, and it was a single stall! Clean but of course there was a line to the womens room for the single stall. Wasn't on the main entrance side, but hope the main entrance has more restroom stalls! This is my review as a visitor, and it was easy visiting this place.

They also provided breakfast and lunch! Thank you all, really appreciated!

Firstly they took a consult fee then never applied to my services. Still have not received refund. Secondly , but most importantly the work done I came in and stayed I was not happy with. They wanted to charge me more. I am attaching photos so you can see there's no visible difference with the filler I paid 650 for. I have lip discoloration from lip injection. It looks uneven. My smile lines look pretty much exactly the same. Look at photos and you tell me? For Botox I now have lines on my head when I don't scrunch my forhead that never existed before. In before photo she has me scrunching, but not forhead normally. I have less scrunching now, but not permant lines. Injection for botex was done inproperly I was told from another practice. The look I wanted to achieve was done inproperly. She went right into smile lines instead of cheeks and under nose. I went back explained myself and got nowhere. I also have a lump on my face from filler!! I was told massage it. The nurse is Jess do not go to her. Avoid this office period. Unhappy costumers should be fixed at no charge especially when it's on them!! Photos below so you can see there's no difference with smile lines . It's hard to seen lump but where red mark is . Is where it is. I'm not just going to be burned . An I'm not going to argue . I'll be calling American Express to fight this and posting everywhere possible online. An also for lump I can file a lawsuit as another practice said it can cause serious issues down the line. . They don't want to correct this by even adding more botex which is cheap to fix lines!! I was going to have to pay , obviously I'm going elsewhere if I have to pay for error you made. Check photos below for amazing results that cost 900. 25 units of Botox , an one filler. I'm not 60 I shouldn't need 3 fillers for my face. It was done improperly for results not to happen. Going into directly smile lines is not affective for look I wanted to achieve as below you can see no change for your own eyes.

From the moment I entered Dr Whites office, where I was greeted and re assured and treated like I was the only patient on earth by a "Personal Patient Advocate" to even now, months later, I cant recommend this surgeon any higher. I have zero memory of the surgery, I cooked dinner the night of my surgery day, I was originally quoted a price for one hernia repair and the doctor repaired four hernias and removed a fatty tumor and laughed when I asked him if I owed him more...You cant do any better than this surgeon and the oasis of healing he has created in his office.

My experience with Surgical Associates of Myrtle Beach…read more I was diagnosed by Dr. Nicholson with a large umbilical hernia that required open hernia surgery. I went in for Same Day Surgery 7/06/16 and after a 6 inch incision was sent home in a binder with oxycodone for pain management. I tried to sleep but my skin felt like it was on fire and I was breaking out into hived like blisters and my pain was horrible so at 3 hours in we called Dr. Nicholson and explained we thought I was allergic to the oxycodone and could we get something else. He then suggested Tylenol with Codeine and I knew in the past that Tylenol with codeine has made me sick to my stomach so I asked for something different and he said no and that because the pain was terrible to take 2 oxycodone and some Benadryl. So that is what we did and I did not sleep for 3 days and because I was taking a double dose we ran out and called Saturday night but was informed that the office was not open until Monday and that they could not help me. I also reached out to my doctor but she would not see me because I had not been released back to her yet. So with very little sleep for a week, we went for follow up the next Wednesday where I was diagnosed with an infection and put on antibiotics. I was doing a bit better, not great but better when I went to see Dr. Nicholson 2 weeks later but the hives kept coming and coming. A week later I woke up with my eye swollen shut covered in hives everywhere and crusting over my incision and that itchy throat that means I am heading for trouble. I went to the Urgent care because of course my surgeon's office was closed and they shot me me up with prednisone and gave me allergy pills, prednisone pills and cream. They were so kind to me that I cried since I had not been treated with kindness through any of this. The hives started to go away and I woke up this morning to my incision coming open in 2 dime like spots so I called the surgeon and they had me come in. I walked in crying because well I was scared and hurting and just so tired. Dr. Nicholson was not there so I was seen by Lane I. Moore, MD, who threw the door open to the exam room looked at my incision and said this is your fault because you smoke and I was trying to explain to him my allergic reaction to oxycodone and the hell that had ensued since that and he said you did not have an allergic reaction, he said put a gauze pad on it and tape, quit smoking and wounds have been healing for thousands of years on their own. There has been one saving grace through this practice and that is the nurse, not sure of her name she has red hair, slightly older, she has been so kind and loving and the only reason I have gone back.

I finally heard back and she told me it was from stress. I paid my 35.00 co-pay and that was that so I thought. A few days later I got a bill for 400.00 dollars. I paid it minus the 35.00. I called my insurance company Humana about the bill. The person I spoke to said I should have never gotten a bill. So she called the billing department and told them to resubmit the bill to Humana and refund me my money because I am covered for the visit. The. doctor bill in total was 1008.00. I will never use them again. They over bill patients.

When I arrived, my pain level was intense, I could hardly walk; he diagnosed my issue within minutes, he was thorough, professional, articulate, very knowledgeable; and took his time in explaining in detail my issues, his recommendation and how he was going to address the problem. He had me out the door with little, to no pain in about 45 minutes. I've been more than satisfied with Kevin's diagnosis, it was spot on....and my recovery has been impressive. Also could hear the workers in the back cussing while talking amongst each other.
