I cannot say enough nice things based on my first visit. For digestive reasons, I sought out pu'er tea, which I am to understand needs to be of good quality. A Yelp search led me to Grand Yunnan, particularly given the strength of reviews. I was asked what I was looking for, and whether I had any dietary restrictions. Raw pu'er was confidently recommended. My naive questions were patiently answered, and I left with not just the raw pu'er, but instructions and a sample of red tea. This is a gorgeous shop, with a wide array of teas and teaware. I could stand and gaze all day, I believe. Exactly what I was looking for in a shop. Upon walking in, "hello, welcome. What do you like?" "Pu'erh, not young ripe, but aged. Also, whites and reds. I like sweet and earthy." I was crusing all over Vegas and saw this place when I was driving. Decided to come back and check it out. End up spending almost an hour there just drinking tea with the lady as she brew some pu-er tea for me to try She was definitely really friendly so I decided to buy a bag for $30. 100g. Pu-er is always expensive even in Asia. Tons of peeps swear by it.. especially the older folks. I usually do high mountain oolong tea everyday. Tea is just my new fascination or obsession really. It was not bad when she brew it. Learn something as well. Didn't know you can brew this 20+ times. Haven't been to Vegas a while and wanted to find a place to buy some loose leaf tea from. Came into the shop and was greeted by the owner. She invited us to have a seat and served us a sample of of pu'er tea. Her tea knowledge is expansive and I could tell the passion to share good tea with the world was there, you don't get that type of experience every day. I ended up getting a glass mug and 100g of tea which cost around $50, the tea is good to steep for about 20 times so the price is more than fair, especially given the quality. If you are looking for high quality Chinese tea in the Las Vegas area, this is the place to go. You don't go here to grab a cup of tea and go. You go here to buy delicious traditional Chinese teas to make at home. My husband and I walked into the store on a whim and we were treated to a 45 minute lesson on how to brew and enjoy aged pu'er tea. We left with what we need to make this special tea at home, as well as an increased understanding of how the product is made and some of this history of tea in China. We were on our way to dinner, but I wish I had more time to try all their different teas. They also sell beautiful silver jewelry. According to their website, they do tea tastings on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, but Selina and her husband made time for us on a Saturday. Great owners and a wonderful business. Amazing place, we walked in for some loose leaf tea and we walked out with so much more. The owners are so awesome they took the time to sit down and teach us about tea and the culture. We were welcomed as soon as we walked in and treated like family. As we sat in the shop drinking tea, she taught us the proper way to steep and the meaning behind the different parts of the tea kettle and cups. We shared stories and laughs, and left with a deeper understanding of tea and interesting enough a spiritually enlightening feeling. I was excited to visit this place; when I opened the door, I was overwhelmed with so many things to examine! It all started well enough--I was looking at a pendant and wanted to confirm if it was agarwood/aloeswood, which the owner(?) didn't seem to know so I asked 沉香 in Chinese, which she kindly took out for me to smell; after asking for the price and other varieties & sizes, she brought out more bracelets for me to check out (including ones I didn't ask for)...I guess this was the turning point when she realized that I didn't want to spend a lot of money. After showing me a nice (and kind of expensive) piece, I noticed how quickly she put that back away and left the cheaper ones for me to contemplate. At this point I'm still at the front counter, so I said I'll think about the pendant after I finish the rest of the store. I moved onto the display shelves with teapots--I asked for the Nixing 妮兴 clay, which she mistook for Yixing (Zisha)--I tried to explain what I'm looking for but was told they're her private collection and not for sale anyway; it was nice of her to show me the stuff and even let me take them out to take pictures though. I then made my way to the back where she has very nice Buddhist statues made of jade. She said she has expensive taste and I agreed and complimented her; however, things really went south once I got to the teas. Again, overwhelmed was the word; with so many varieties of teas, I wasn't sure where to start, so I first asked if there was a menu (assuming they offer tea services based on the reviews) or at least a list of inventory, but was met with "This is not a boba shop or Starbucks," so I asked if I could simply smell the tea leaves, which she replied "If you smell teas, YOU DON'T KNOW TEA" followed by "All the teas that have fragrances are ARTIFICIAL." I told her it's a common practice when I buy teas from Wing Hop Fung (a very reputable tea supply, not to mention most oolong 青茶 teas are fragrant NATURALLY), then she basically reiterated that only her "factory" makes "real" teas. This is some sort of regional superiority delusion because my favorite Phoenix 鳳凰單樅 teas, as well as most teas from Taiwan & Japan are ALL fragrant... Fine, if I can't smell them, can I taste them? She told me that the minimum purchase is 100g (in short, NO), and proceeded to assume that I can't afford any of the loose leaves so she pushed the inferior prepackaged products. She could've easily charged me $5 for a cup or $10 for a pot; I had every intention to get the $26 or even the $36 teas if I liked them enough, but she made it impossible to know. I asked about the nice tea ceremonies everybody talks about and she basically told me that's for people who have already spent money, but I thought the point was to sample them so you can choose! She proceeded to talk about how people make teas wrong and she's just there to show them how to do it properly (with the teas they already bought yet knows nothing about). Ok, that sounds condescending and a little ridiculous With all my efforts to let her know that I speak Chinese since her English comes off a little rough around the edges, she never reciprocated. I wanted to get something just to prove that I'm not as poor as she thinks (Btw, I saw her checking my outfit & judging me at some point), but decided that since I don't live in NV and she most likely won't be my regular tea supply, it was a waste of effort for someone who clearly thinks they're too good for my business. read more

My fiancé and I are complete tea novices and we came in looking to buy tea for a tea ceremony for our wedding to incorporate his Chinese culture into our wedding. We were treated to tea and shown the art of preparing tea, in a way that was so informative and beautiful! I've been wanting to learn more about tea and I ended up finding this tea shop here in Vegas. A friend and I were greeted by the very nice lady who owns the shop. She sat us down and invited us to enjoy some tea for almost an hour. She went on to teach us all kinds of things about tea that I've never considered before.
