Another good pizza place along Route 8 in Gibsonia. Recently I tried their Italian Platter which consisted of manicotti, lasagna, a stuffed shell and one meat and one cheese ravioli. It came with a side of wedding soup. Everything tasted good to very good. Service was efficient and takeout ready when promised. I will try other items in the future. read more

So disappointed. This is the third bad pizza we've gotten from Grande. Have eaten their pizza for years and used to love it. Todays came completely burnt. As you can see most ended up in the garbage inedible. It isn't acceptable to pass something off like you didn't know it was burnt when you took it out of the oven and placed it in the box. The pieces broke in half when you tried to fold it. As this is the third one that has been bad we won't be ordering again. read more

Pittsburgh Bound! Part V I moved to Atlanta in December of last year from Pittsburgh and had yet to be back. Virtually every Labor Day weekend of my entire life was spent in Pittsburgh with my parents, as my birthday falls within the window. I promised my folks that I would make a long weekend out of it, and head on home. The following reviews are a step-by-step account of the long weekend. Enjoy! J and I have been friends for nearly 25 years and I was back for a short trip, so he wanted to meet up. I told him that I had nothing going on and suggested Grande's. I hadn't been to Grande's in a while, but I figured that if I was home, I was going to get pizza. When I was a kid, my parents would neglect my brothers and me and hire a makeshift babysitter to watch us while they trounced around town like the harlequins that they are. Just before the babysitter would come over, my dad would swing by Grande's and pick up a few large pizzas as an up-front payment for us having to deal with some pockmarked teenage douche whose sole responsibility was to make sure me and the boys didn't set the house on fire. We hated having a babysitter, but it was all worth it for the pizza. Any kid loves pizza, but Grande was different. They actually put meatballs on the pizza. Meatballs!!! As a kid, all I ever knew about pizza was pepperoni and some vegetables I didn't like. Meatballs were a foreign concept to us and we loved it. It wasn't only the fact that these guys were bucking the system with this outside-the-box meatball concept (fast forward 30 years and I can probably find a place that would top a pizza with pancakes and sushi), but it wasn't some gimmicky thing. The pizza was incredibly good. Soft, chew dough, a sauce that wasn't overly salty or sweet, and quality cheese. My Italian grandmother once showed me the difference between plastic cheese and real cheese, and it was a lesson that I've always retained. 30 years later, and the pizza is still as good as ever. How many restaurants have you gone to where you can honestly allow three decades to pass and not say "It's not as good as it used to be"? The Grande's of the world are hard to come by. If there are three things us Pittsburghers revel in, it's our championships, rampant alcoholism, and pizza. I've lived in a variety of areas around the country, and nothing has ever come close to reminding me of the pizza from home. I've found a few places in Atlanta that come damn close, but Pittsburgh pizza will always be number one, and Grande is in the top of that list. My co-worker raved about the steak subs so I had to see for myself after living nearby for many years and never having Grande, we decided to give it a try today. Well she was right about the steak sub!! I had the deluxe with onions peppers mushrooms lettuce tomato and Italian dressing and it was the best I've ever had. Don't know if there's new owners there now or what. Used to be a great place. Ordered a Sicilian and it wasn't cooked all the way through. Also ordered a white pizza and not sure what it was they even gave me. It had onions on it and was flavorless. Couldn't taste any garlic only thing you could taste was the red onions they put on. Probably won't be going back for $37 could have gotten way better pizza elsewhere. read more

Love the food here, even if the parking lot is a bit of a pain in the ass. Service was great and the guys at the counter were totally cool! (Long story short my card got declined because it was on hold due to sketchy activity) but they were so nice and just had me call my husband and get his card to pay for it. It was super busy and they were extremely nice and non-judgmental because my card got declined (some places can be super rude about that). Food is delicious and you get a lot of bang for your buck! 10/10 would order again. My only problem is now Adrian's has some serious competition for my business. read more

Still looking for a great pizza place.. We ordered hawaiian pizza wings and breaded mushrooms. They even threw in a big helping of grease for free. Pizza was thin and flimsy ( probably from all the grease). Wings were really small and sitting in grease not crunchy, not what we were expecting and the mushrooms were okay. Taste of the food was good. But not worth comming back and trying again unfortunately it seems like a nice place, other then the big wiffs of cigarette smoke i kept smelling that was a little overpowering. read more

This was by far, the best Sicilian pizza around...and I am a thin crust fan...but couldn't resist a square. The original owners would place the dough in the pan, drizzle with olive oil, and allow to set for hours. Then upon ordering, they would add sauce and romano cheese and bake for 20 - 25 minutes. They would remove the pizza from the oven, add sauce, cheese and toppings and then back for and additional 25 - 30 minutes. The result was a crispy bottom, chewy dough and well cooked topping. It was at least a 45 - 50 minute wait for the pizza. Now, it's nothing more than a quick 20 minute bread with sauce...horrible. I was willing to give them another try...I went in (I was the only person in the place)...I went to the counter to order 2 slices...I was told to seat myself and a server would be out. The server then came out from the back room and proceeded to have a 5 minute conversation with the cook while I sat. I walked out and and have never returned...nor will I! read more

Parking is horrible, you're better off parking at the lower lot of the club house and walking over. You can eat in or take out. We ate in. Waitress was nice. Restaurant is clean enough, as are the bathrooms. We call our food ahead so we don't have to wait. The garlic knots are really good. The pizza is just okay. There's not enough sauce on it for me. The crust is flimsy as it gets. It doesn't reheat well in the microwave if you're someone who likes leftovers (we do). It's soggy and bleh. The worst part about Grande is it's extremely expensive. It was $80 for 2 large & 2 medium pizzas. That is insane for how underwhelming the pizza is. We will go elsewhere from now on. read more

For me this was the worst pizza ever and seemingly incompetent staff can't seem to handle beyond 1 topping. I ordered Hawaiian pizza with onion. The guy on the phone read it back correctly. When the pizza was picked up 20 minutes later, was told they were out of pineapple. Could have told me that when I ordered but OK, not the end of the world. When I opened the pizza it had no onion, the only topping was ham, and I didn't see one slice with more than 1 piece of ham on it and actually one slice didn't have any ham, what an insult. Further the pizza dough was barely cooked, I didn't think there was any crust, the "crust" had the consistency of a pancake, it didn't even looked browned, probably just enough heat to melt the cheese on top, that's it. This was literally the worst pizza I remember ever having. This was the first time I got pizza here and I wouldn't come back here if it was the last restaurant in the world. Do yourself a favor and buy any frozen pizza to make at home and I think it will be 100 times better than the "crap" they serve at "Grande" Pizza "Italian" Restaurant. read more

This was my first visit to Grande who were high endorsed for their delicious pizza. There is room to dine in with wait service available, and I saw many people came in to pick up take out. This quaint restaurant has a full menu complete with Italian dinners, pizza, wings, apps etc... We ordered the breadsticks and a large neapolitan pizza with green peppers and bacon. First class! The presentation was what I noticed right away. They used both red and green peppers; there was ample bacon and just enough cheese. My pizza also wasn't swimming in sauce and the crust was crispy but not under cooked. Priced fairly I would order from here again. I would really like to try one of their specialty pizzas. Very good pizza. We switch between a few pizza places in the area (Bruno's, Pasquale's, and here). We have never had a bad pizza here or had to wait too long. However, I have never eaten in the restaurant - always done takeout. We also get their crust to make our own pizza at home. This is a good, solid pizza that never disappoints. read more
