My coworker treated me to lunch earlier this week since I am leaving that office location. She chose LaScola's because we are both GF and they have GF pizza! I ordered a GF pizza with green peppers and she ordered a GF pizza with cheddar, broccoli and chicken. Two of our other coworkers joined us and one got a 4 cut white pizza and the other coworker got a buffalo chicken wrap. We received everything as ordered. My pizza was very good- one of the better GF pizzas I've tried. My coworkers buffalo chicken wrap looked so good! They actually grilled the wrap with everything in it so it was nice and toasty. I probably won't be out in New Ken very often since lll be back to working downtown, but if I'm ever in the area again, I would definitely order from LaScola's again! First impression, darkest business entry,walls and ceiling are black and one 60 watt light bulb and a small yellow light bulb and no windows. Been in brighter theaters. Ordered small pizza with pepperoni and sausage which was pretty good but way to much sauce for me but taste was good. Ordered half a steak and cheese with only mushrooms and onions but they still put lettuce tomatoes and slathered it with mayo. After I scraped off the lettuce tomatoes and mayo it did taste decent but was not what I ordered. I was very specific ONLY mush and onions A couple gallons of light colored paint and some modern lighting would greatly improve the ambiance as this place looks scary when you walk in. I discovered this Pizzeria recently, called local tavern for takeout pizza to discover their kitchen was closed for evening, googled closest Pizza place to me! LaScola's was it! The pizza was excellent, the prices were great! I hate paying $30 (this was half that for excellent) for a mediocre pizza. The crust was perfect, the toppings were plentiful. When I moved to the area this was the first place we ordered delivery from - pizza and hoagies. They were delicious, generous portions. The next time we ordered we went to pick it up and that's where they lost me. The outside of the building is dingy and the inside is no better. I could feel my shoes sticking to the sticky floor. Our family does pizza and movie night once a week and LaScolas pizza was our go to 9 out of 10 times. It was close and they do make very good pizzas. However after sitting inside watching a football game waiting for our order to be cooked, the owner made some very off color comments about some players on television regarding their religion and ethnicity. Hooray for good, hot pizza in New Kensington! The place is small and really best for pick-up only. Friendly over the phone service, but the ladies were a little hurried (being that it was Friday night dinner chaos). The regular crust is a medium thickness - not too bready, not paper thin; very nice. Good sauce to cheese ratio too! Warning: Best Pizza but only take out, no onsite dinning! Their pizza is the best I have had in the area and we have tried every place as we love pizza. I have been ordering from here since I had moved to this areas in Nov of 15. I initially it was really good. In the last 6 months or so it had dramatically worsened for me. Wrong food delivered several times. Cold food. I had picked up a pizza that had looked to have been assembled by throwing the toppings at it. I once was delivered a pizza that was half eaten. Apparently the guy grabbed an employees pizza by accident.... he seemed embarrassed about it.... I ordered an Italian sub no cheese. It came with meat only. My husband and I never had food from here, but our kids have raved about it for several years. We live out of delivery area, so it took us awhile. I'm regretting waiting!!!!!! Why did we do that????? I guess sometimes your kids know better. We ordered from there tonight. My husband and I got bruschetta, steak wrap, and a cheese ravioli dinner. Our kids got hoagies. I almost fainted when I tasted my cheese ravioli. Holy cheese!!!! THAT WAS SO GOOD!!!! My husband took a bite of his steak wrap and his eyes rolled and he said, "Oh honey! You have to try THIS!!!!!!". So I did. OMG!!!!! The flavor of everything on it came through so insanely delicious!!! I haven't had food this good in a long time!!! The bruschetta was just as delicious! The hoagies are "18 inches", but it's really two 9 inch hoagies wrapped separately. Awesome idea! They were so delicious! It is with a very heavy heart I leave a bad review. Used to be their Philly Steak cheese hoagies were excellent...the best at a very good price. I stopped ordering those not what I used to get! I used to highly recommend them not anymore. So I have been ordering seasoned wings...overcooked..over seasoned like eating rocks. Next time I ordered I said please don't overcook..they were ok but once again over seasoned. Next time I forgot to say don't overcook & they were overcooked & over seasoned. If I wasn't so hungry I would not have eaten them. Half the time they forget your sauces which blue cheese is extra. Now they charge $1.00 for debit cards and blame covid? what does covid have to with it? It just takes away the tip for the driver. $17 for wings & fries? Wing dings! not the full wing! I am sorry but I won't take the chance anymore of spending money for food that is hard to chew rock hard wings that don't have not meat just fried up grizzle. Do know, they do serve a very good product. They have very good wings. With that being said, we ordered wings seasoned and 3 different sauces on the side. The wings came in Styrofoam with a piece of foil on the bottom , The top lid was deformed due to the heat of the wings, opened up the lid and found the sauces melted all over the wings, plastic and all. Needless to say they did not taste good at all, for all three sauces were all on top of the wings , yes we threw the wings away that had the plastic melted on. I made a phone call, to let them know what happened and suggested that they not put them in the Styrofoam containers again. And to put the sauces in a bag. The female on the other side of the phone never once said sorry or even tried to appease us. Instead she told us to ask for our wings to be put in a pizza box the next time we order. I find it funny that she assumed we would order wings from them again. They are $$$$ read more
