The offered absolutely no help despite their error. They told me to return the item, which is impossible given its location. We were shopping for a rug for our deck and found one at a Grandin Road store. The item did not have information or a description attached, so we questioned the salesperson specifically if the rug would be suitable for our situation. We were assured that it would. The first day it was out, we had rain, and a gel-like substance oozed through the fibers and sides of the rug. When we contacted their customer service we were told it was for COVERED outdoor use only, not suitable for direct outdoor weather. The one-star review rating is charitable. Overpriced queen inflatable bed. Bought about 5 years ago but used 6 times. A couple years ago went to use it and mattress wouldn't hold air. Called and they send another nattress as they knew that if it was folded for a long time it dried, cracked and leaked. DAH, ITS A PORTABLE BED. This year put new mattress on and now bed frame fell apart and screw split mattress open. Their response is its out of warranty. Bought a pre-lit wall hanging Christmas tree online in Nov 2023. Used it approx 2 months in Nov and Dec 2023. After the holidays, I removed the batteries and stored in original box in a storage closet indoor (not attic or basement). Used again in Nov and Dec 2024 and stored the same way. This year (Nov 2025), went to hang the tree and it would not light. Even though I knew it was past the one-year warranty for a defective item, I contacted Grandin Road and explained that even though the item was two years old, it had only been used for 4 months, and was there anything they could do for me. I was pleasantly surprised when the Customer Service rep (Kim) said she would escalate it to her internal product specialist team for an out of warranty review. Within one day I heard from the Product Specialist (Kaci) asking for a couple a photos of the item, so they could share it with their quality team to explore options. I sent a couple pictures, and within a day I received an email from another Product Specialist (Julie) offering me a gift card for the full value of the tree, which I received within a week. Very pleased they were able to go outside their stated warranty policy and understand the situation that this item was purchased two years ago, it had only been used four months. (I only gave it four stars instead of five because it shouldn't have broken/become defective after four months use in the first place.) read more

This company engages in bait and switch practices! The bottom line, I tried to purchase a storage ottoman that was offered on clearance at Grandin Road's website. I was prevented from proceeding to check out, so I contacted Customer Service. The agent confirmed that the item was available, and was on sale. However, the sale price I was quoted on the phone was $237.00, not the $84.98 that was advertised! I was instructed to call the following day and talk to a salesperson, and no; the item could not be held till then. When I called back, the ottoman that was offered, and available on the web in several colors was "sold out". My protests that when I was trying to pay the price they asked for the ottoman, it was available, and in several acceptable colors, went on deaf ears. Several exchanges and escalations to upper management later, and the most they could do was offer to pay for shipping and "throw in" a $25.00 gift certificate for a future purchase, all of which still brought the bottom line to about $90.00 above the price offered on the website! I, for one, will never shop at Grandinroad again! If a company cannot honor their own offer, they must really be in dire straits! I ordered a set of 5 "Hacienda" candlesticks in black for $149 (plus $$$ shipping). I just got them. There are weird bumps and lumps in the "wood" and spots where there's no paint...and spots where there are HOLES. The finish itself is like a third grader speedily painted it on with the cheapest chalky paint from the back of the art closet. It's got a dusty quality that I can't seem to get clean. When touched, it leaves marks, and when wiped off, the material snags or the black comes off. Of course, these are made in China, which (shame on me) I didn't check on first. Still, I thought that they'd look better than something in a craft store clearance bin leftover from the 80s. I'd never have even picked them up at a lawn sale "free" bin. So disappointed!! What a sham! *update* I know...in the grand scheme of life, this is a small thing. Wah, my pricey candle sticks are garbage. Woe is me. But in this crazy time, I try to be careful with spending and yet enjoy the little things like making my home look pretty. Hey, I'm here 24/7 now, so it's less depressing if things are changed up. I just think if you're going to charge $149 (plus a whopping shipping fee) for a product, it should be decent. A business should ensure that. I've honestly bought nicer stuff at Michaels. I'm reviewing on my most recent experiences with Grandinroad. I ordered on May 29, 2021 and ended up placing the order via phone with a customer service rep. This review is not for her, she was very nice and helpful. She tried to place the order for me but the order was now showing as on backorder until August. Ok, COVID...maybe. So I give the benefit of the doubt and go on faith that the order will come as indicated. I really wanted the item for our guest bedroom before guests arrived. Obviously, it did not. Three guest visits later still no item. As of September 5, 2021 still no delivery and no communication that it was delayed. After tracking down my order confirmation from MAY, I search for the item on line to see if it says backordered. It does not, and is still being printed in the last few catalogs. This doesn't make sense to me, so I call customer service. She says the item is now on backorder until some time in NOVEMBER. I can't believe it. I wish I would have shopped local. At this point I feel vested, and decide to wait it out if they throw in an extra discount. $45 shipping Originally a $500 item. I'll keep this order and this rating, but if I find something I like just as much in the same price range, I am canceling never to order with them again, nor would I recommend. Send my item, and I'll change the review for the item. Bad customer service Grandinroad. Shame on you. You're not shipping items so you have time to make a courtesy call. Their delivery company, JB Hunt, has farcically bad customer service. We wrote Grandin Road and they promised to contact JB Hunt and offered a $100 discount on shipping. This place very expensive and when you call to find out about why there are delays you are given a range of scripted excuses with no desire to be spoken to. Rude and incompetent. Bought a sofa from Grandinroad and paid for "white glove" service as we are in our 70's and the sofa is 84 inches and heavy leather. "White glove" means they set the sofa up. Well they left it on it's side and would not screw in the 6 legs and turn it over. Grandinroad has lodged a complaint with J.B. Hunt and are paying us to have someone come out and turn the sofa upright as J.B. Hunt REFUSED to send the driver and helper back k out and said we can wait 3-7 days til they can get around to it. If possible avoid this company. We will never purchase from Grandinroad again because this is who they use. read more

We are both in our 80's so dealing with a huge table presented a big problem for us. When I went back on the site, I could not find any information for the white glove delivery and when I called Customer Service they said that it was not eligible for that service. I know that it was on the site as I looked at dozens of tables and rejected them either because of only to the door delivery or that they had to be put together. Don't believe the online delivery dates when you order. I have two different orders. First-order was placed in December 2021 with a delivery date of February 15, 2022. Well, got an email apologizing but the order is delayed till May 2022, I am doubtful this will even happen and starting to look elsewhere for counter stools. Everything has been perfect from beginning to end. I ordered the Ava 93in sofa and the chair and a half ottoman and sure it took a few weeks for delivery, but pottery barn or west elm had projected delivery dates several months out. The guys who delivered it were great and respectful of my home, they wore booties in the house to set it up. The couch is so comfortable and the slipcover is amazing, it truly repels stains! I've brushed up against it with my hand that had blood on it or with a piece of food that fell and it just wipes away with a baby wipe! Customer service has been great, they honored their lowest price guarantee so I called back within 30 days of purchase about a lower price than what I paid being listed and they refunded me the difference! So far it's been almost 6 months and I'm beyond happy. Will continue to purchase furniture from here.
