The coleslaw, which is a newer item on their menu, tastes oddly like grocery store macaroni salad--the kind with the little pieces of carrot and sweet pickle?? I suspect it was made with miracle whip and I don't eat miracle whip...but that's not what cost them the star!! I just chalk that up to personal taste...not good taste...but not for me. The server offered dessert, cheesecake or peanut butter pie. The owner of this restaurant, btw, owns a bakery. We opted for one of each. My husband got the cheesecake and there was a dried up chunk of something that fell off another dessert!? Nope...his cheesecake was dried out...literally to the point that I could lift it up by the sides and set it back down without my fingers having anything on them--still dry. So I tried my peanut butter pie. Also so dry that I could lift it by the cut sides and thump it on the plate and it didn't even fall apart!!! Shame. On. Them!! The server explained that they were probably in the fridge for "a day or two"...I think possibly more?? They were taken right off the bill, but when I asked to speak to a manager, I was told they don't have one. Please note...for the most part this is a local restaurant we like and frequent. But when you have owners trying to get by with that kind of nonsense, it's an embarrassment! I felt bad for the server and disappointed by this. Hopefully this is a problem they will fix. I'd go for the fish fry again and their beans and greens are crave-worthy. Very cool atmosphere, good service.

The only reason I didn't rate it higher was the lack of won tons in the soup. The service was friendly, and there's plenty of parking, except avoid the potholes. But every time I've been to this DQ, they always seem understaffed and underprepared for rushes. Today was probably the worst I've seen. I didn't order any food today, just a small Reese's blizzard. 12:38 order was in, and at 1:06 I had to go back to the counter and ask about my order to finally get it. I don't think it took that long to actually make, it looked like it was just sitting in the chill well most of that time. The cashier was running around like crazy between the ice cream tickets and the food tickets and trying to put the orders together. I'll stick with the local non-chain ice cream shops in the future.

So I asked about it and the young woman behind the counter said, rather curtly, that it would be up soon. Another 5 minutes and still no show, so I asked another person, there and she said the same thing. 5 more minutes, still no mocha and I asked the woman who took my order and she said that it is being made up now, but 2 more minutes go by before it finally showed. It seems to me that the folks who place their orders from their cars get priority treatment....which just is not right. The orders should be worked on immediately after being received, regardless of who or where they are placed.

On May 6, I again said something about this to the employee working and once again was simply given the runaround, being told that the coffee "was just made", and "coffee keeps for two hours in the carafes"! It's time to start going somewhere else every day for coffee instead of paying over two dollars a cup for luke warm coffee! Do you people even care that you lose customers left and right because you simply don't care about anything?
