    Cherry pie

Finally there is an all vegan restaurant near Farm Sanctuary and it is amazing!! We've been coming up twice a year for more than a decade and we've always managed to find a few vegan options, but we always wished for better options. Casey and Mike at Grandma's kitchen have made that wish come true! We stayed in a tiny house at Farm Sanctuary and they were kind enough to make us a whole weekend's worth of goodies! We ordered the shepherds pie, the Mac and cheese, the quiche, chicken salad, cinnamon rolls, cookies, a cherry pie..an amazing vegan feast! The quiche was the best vegan quiche we've ever had. The cinnamon rolls were gooey and perfect. The shepherds pie was hearty and topped with creamy mashed potatoes. Each dish was tastier than the next! If you're visiting Farm Sanctuary I'd plan on visiting Grandma's Kitchen multiple times, or arrange to bring a bunch of goodies back to your room. If you live in the area please go all the time so that this gem can thrive and be here every time we visit.

Great little place to grab breakfast. Loved the Curtiss memorabilia all over. Great staff and…read morebreakfast was outstanding. Easy parking, too. Definitely a must-visit!

I really want to love this place; and for the most part, I do! But when you have an absentee owner…read moreand no manager--stars are lost! Went in last Friday night after discovering they have a fish fry! It's $25--which, to me, is a little on the pricey side for a fish fry, but we like this place and the vibe...so we tried it. The fish was crispy and fresh and hot and delicious! The mac and cheese was good, hot and gooey. The coleslaw, which is a newer item on their menu, tastes oddly like grocery store macaroni salad--the kind with the little pieces of carrot and sweet pickle?? I suspect it was made with miracle whip and I don't eat miracle whip...but that's not what cost them the star!! I just chalk that up to personal taste...not good taste...but not for me. The server offered dessert, cheesecake or peanut butter pie. The owner of this restaurant, btw, owns a bakery. We opted for one of each. My husband got the cheesecake and there was a dried up chunk of something that fell off another dessert!? Nope...his cheesecake was dried out...literally to the point that I could lift it up by the sides and set it back down without my fingers having anything on them--still dry. So I tried my peanut butter pie. Also so dry that I could lift it by the cut sides and thump it on the plate and it didn't even fall apart!!! Shame. On. Them!! The server explained that they were probably in the fridge for "a day or two"...I think possibly more?? They were taken right off the bill, but when I asked to speak to a manager, I was told they don't have one. Please note...for the most part this is a local restaurant we like and frequent. But when you have owners trying to get by with that kind of nonsense, it's an embarrassment! I felt bad for the server and disappointed by this. Hopefully this is a problem they will fix. I'd go for the fish fry again and their beans and greens are crave-worthy. Very cool atmosphere, good service.
