Easy access on/off the freeway. The place was semi packed & you could tell Grandma is a fan of the Cowboys because the place was a shrine to the Dallas Cowboys. Friendly staff (I think the whole family works there) & we were given menus. H was a bit upset he missed breakfast & when our drinks were brought to the table, she gave H a breakfast menu & said the cook was agreeable to fixing him something for breakfast. I ordered the Grandma's Special: fajita taco, cheese enchiladas, rice, beans & avocado. H had the chorizo eggs, scrambled w rice & beans. Once served, we dug in & it was delicious! The enchiladas were so freakin' good & the fajita meat was surprisingly good for a hole in the wall place. The flour tortillas were fresh & the portions hearty. This place doesn't look like much from the outside but as soon as you walk in you are greeted by some of the nicest people I have ever met during my travels. They offer breakfast until 11. I walked in at 11:02 They were nice enough to accommodate me and make me breakfast. I had the chilaqiles which were delicious. Coffee was nice and hot and the price was very good. Absolutely loved this place. The service was top notch and everything we ate was delicious. They gave us a small soup which was very tasty and chips and salsa while we waited for our food. The salsa was very good and spicy, not watered down like many chain restaurants give, the soup was also very good. We ordered the Mexican tacos and they were great. We finished the one meal, and the other meal was still not out. I went to pay for the one meal that we ate and they charged me for extras that were supposed to come with the other order, the other order never came out. Good place little hidden gem that's about the last stop before heading north on the highway. They have good friendly service. A nice appetizer of soup and chips with salsa. Standard Texmex fare the burger was tasty and the botana sure fills you up. The flour tortillas were huge. Although I'm withholding a star due to one of the plates being a bit dirty. Also the servers could have been prompter. It shows that it is a family owned restaurant since the floor shows wear and tear. The restaurant was pretty full, and people kept coming in. We did get a table, though, and we were seated right away. It looked clean and homey, with lots of Dallas cowboy memorabilia everywhere. Most Of the guests seemed local , as everyone knew everybody. The chips were homemade, but they were not hot. This also was also homemade and it did have a little kick to it. My husband ordered the beef fajitas, and he said they were pretty tasty. They were not served on the standard iron skillet, but still grilled. I ordered the guacamole, and it was really good. We get greeted and everything going well, but once we ordered we sat there for roughly 30 minutes for food, which I find crazy, it should only take about 20 minutes. Food was mediocre and definitely not worth the wait, eggs were dry, and beans had no flavor. Coming to pay, for roughly about 19-23 people, everyone got a 8$ plate and a water, then charging 2.99 for a cup full of ice and barely any water and from the faucet . We came here for breakfast and it was pretty good! The coffee was awesome! I especially liked that they gave me milk with my coffee instead of creamer. I had the Grandma's breakfast and my coworker had the chorizo and egg breakfast and they were both really good. Both the corn and flour tortillas were awesome! Flour tortillas were huge! They served a small cup of oatmeal while we waited for breakfast, which is a nice addition to the breakfast. The refried beans could use some improvement, so that's what keeps me from giving it 5 stars, but other than that I would definitely eat here again. The server was very nice and attentive.
