This Grandpa Joe's Candy Shop is a regional chain store that sells a variety of old-fashioned/nostalgic and modern candies, glass-bottled sodas, and gifts for people of all ages. My husband and I shopped here one time. When we entered the store, an employee immediately and kindly greeted us. Examples of candies were Jelly Belly, SweetTarts, Raisinets, Laffy Taffy, Dweebs, BottleCaps, Nestle Aero, and a display case of a few dozen flavors of chocolates. Furthermore, a wall had a candy buffet from which customers could fill up a box with up to several dozen flavors of candies for $5. Countless flavors of bottled sodas were on the shelves. For gifts we saw toys (e.g., wooden flower puzzles and trucks), clothing such as socks, candles, etcetera. We felt most interested in the candies. This store offered many but not all of our favorite gummy, hard, sweet, sour, and chocolate candies. The prices were typical. read more

A very cute and well stocked candy store! We stopped in after visiting the beaver area and were very happy with the selection. The staff was very friendly and they had a wall of "$5 box candy" where you could fill a box up with any of the options for $5. They also had a lot of freeze dried candy options, chocolate, fudge, you name it! We also found some tough to find candy which was great for Christmas gifts. There's street parking outside but do note they do not have a public bathroom. A great stop when in the area! read more

We stopped by while in the area on a Wednesday afternoon. It was a cute shop that had a little bit of everything. They had a soda pop wall, adult humor section, and even international snacks! I love trying different sodas. I wanted to try one of Grandpa Joe's sodas, but after smelling the nacho cheese candle my stomach was pretty upset lol. I didn't want to take any chances so I tried Joe's Mango Lemonade. My niece and cousins filled up boxes for $5 and were as happy as can be. I decided to pick up an Apple scorpion sucker for Andrew since he used to eat them as a kid. I considered buying the crickets they had, but I was afraid he'd make me eat them with him. They came in 3 flavors, one of which was bacon and cheese. I also picked out some Korean chips for Andrew to try something new. These were a hit and he finished them in one go. Such a cute and welcoming store! We went in because I love so called retro soda but they also sell ramune soda and this girl needs her some Asian soda! I love Grandpa Joe's, it reminds me of the old penny candy stores. Candy stores seem to be a thing of the past so it's nice to have one that seems to be thriving. They have tons of candy to choose from and even novelty items you can buy, like socks, signs, etc. it's a big store but it is not super spacious. If you go and there's a lot of people there it's a little crowded. They have boxes that you can fill with however much candy you want for $5 as long as you can close it. No taxes, just $5. This place is like something from a storybook. They have just about any flavor of soda you can imagine , for one. There are also crazy "treats", like bugs. Yes. If you're looking for a centipede lollipop, look no further. Aside from the strange and somewhat amazing items, you can find almost anything else. A pound of only banana runts? In the back room. An aisle of gummy bears? Towards the middle of the shop. Sour candies? There's a shelf in the middle of the shop, on the left. Homemade treats to the left of the register. Nothing appeared to be out of date or lingering. The selection was fantastic. I spent about twenty minutes in the shop just wandering and noticing. Very neat place. read more

Giving Grandpa Joe's a 4 because the selection was amazing but the woman at the counter was anything but nice. It felt like we were bothering her being there. The selection is amazing. Stumbled upon this quirky shop. Yes literally stumbled because some kid playing Pokemon go bumped into me and apologized. I saw the sign and the wall of pop through the window and it was game over. I have been looking for my favorite cherry soda I usually get in Utah. They had it here and so many other kinds. I could have left then and there with my glorious cherry soda but decided to browse some more. Unique things like crickets and more common items like jelly beans. Bulk candy towards the back in case you feel like you need a huge bag of gummy sharks. I won't lie I was tempted to buy them myself. Some funny gift items in the middle of the shop. They offer $5 candy boxes which you can fill with whatever you want along the candy well as long as it fits in the box it is only $5.
