If someone isn't making money hand over fist for these warranty's they wouldn't be trying to sell them so hard.

Yesterday, the nice lady at the entrance booth of the Crazy Horse reminded me that my left…read moreheadlight went off... I had to come back to AutoZone asking for help after trying for 10 minutes he told me he is not allowed to remove part to reach the headlight ... So I went to the Subaru dealer, literally just one block away. Told the guy at the service department what happened. He took my key and said he'd take care of it. I went to the waiting room, grabbed a snack and a bottle of water, sat down, and started eating... Right at that moment, he walked in and told me all my lights were working! "You're good to go!" I asked him how much I needed to pay, and he said it was free. I'm not sure if it's normal or just Midwest "nice":) but the weather had been unpredictable so it's less stressful knowing it's fixed before I hit the road

I visited this Subaru dealership in Rapid City, SD during a recent trip to the Black Hills region…read moreof the state as I consider my next move into retirement. As an FYI, this dealership is one of ONLY TWO in the entire state of South Dakota (the other being on the other side of the state in Sioux Falls). I wanted to check out the dealer's inventory of new 2026 Outbacks since the car was completely redesigned for the 2026 model year. While this is a relatively small Subaru dealership compared to others I've been to near where I live on the East Coast, they had a pretty impressive inventory of new 2026 Outbacks in a variety of trim levels. They also had a nice inventory of other Subaru models, too. While I was not buying at the moment, I spoke with a young salesman who did not apply the usual pressure tactics; he informed me that in So. Dakota, documentation fees are minimal because the buyer is responsible for paying the sales taxes, registration and title fees themselves and that those requirements are fulfilled in the buyer's county treasurer's offices. Thus, the potential for additional dealer profiteering rip-offs that can be seen in states like NEW JERSEY and FLORIDA where the documentation fees are UNREGULATED by the STATE do not occur in So. Dakota. This was refreshing to hear and I decided that when I buy my next Subaru after my move to South Dakota in 2027, that I will seriously consider returning to COURTESY SUBARU in Rapid City.

I want warn you to consider not buying a used car from Liberty based on our experience with them…read morewhen we bought a used VW Beetle last year. Literally days after our purchase the car's clutch failed catastrophically. We towed it in. The fix would be 6,000$. I protested. They would only agree to cover labor which I will admit is more than they legally had to. However, they basically said we caused the failure. Which was a lie not to mention extremely disappointing. Our independent mechanic confirmed that there was no way we could have caused that damage after a week(I showed them the photos sent to us from the Liberty VW Service department) Now we are almost a year into this car, and it has begun to throw an EPC light and check engine light. It randomly does this stutter and will often die at stops. We towed it in about a month ago. We had an appointment and got it there about 30 minutes late. A Tuesday, they did not even look at it until the following week. They eventually called and it would be 1000+ to fix. I looked at the bill. There was + 2 diagnostic charges that added up to nearly 400$. When I brought this to their attention they said. "Sorry there was an extra 200$ charge that should not have been there. Ok, great. Glad I caught that. The work was done. We paid 710$ and were on our way. The very next week the EPC and check engine lights were back on again and the car was again shuddering and dying. The car is in the shop again as I write this. The 2nd visit for the same issue we just paid close to 1,000$ to "fix". When I brought it back, I calmly explained my disappointment it this car from the very beginning till today. The service manager's demeanor immediately changed and he became very defensive. Dismissed my complaints as out of his control. My bad for not being happy to eat another repair bill on a car that should have been on the corner of Joe Bob's Used Cars. Lesson learned. Liberty is bad. Avoid.

After discovery I took it back to the dealer and they told me to take it to their body shop and they would repair it. Upon finding out how much it was going to cost to repair it they have reneged and it's nothing but arguing and nastiness on their part. Friendly people until they get your money and then rude and dishonesty. My first experience after moving here a couple months ago, these people can go to hell!
