Consulting a maps app on my mobile device to find the Lake Stevens Historical Museum on Wednesday…read more19 July 2023, I found two different addresses. At the first address I reached, I found flat paved ground with no building. I was more successful at the second address, finding a small museum building, which was not open at the time. Seeking to see if I could find another exhibit, I remembered the Grimm house that I spotted while exploring North Cove Park. To one side of the Paul and Bertha Grimm House, located on the south side of North Cove Park at the time of my visit, was a small parking area. The gates to the grounds were unlocked, so I made my way to the front door through which a decorated interior was visible including a Lake Stevens Historical Society sign. Outside the front door was a plaque with background about the house, which was constructed in 1903. Fun sites to explore, including just finding the buildings.

Loved how MOPOP described the cultural movement built upon five foundational elements: MC'ing, DJ'ing, Breakdancing, Graffiti and Self: Identity, Community, Political Awareness and the use of Hip Hop to show one's expression. Viewing this took me back in time and brought back so many memories. Also liked the other parts of the museum: the two story guitar art piece, "If VI was IX", interactive Sound Labs for music as well as the indie video games. But what stood out was the Infinite Worlds of Science Fiction: Star Wars to Star Trek to Aliens and Back to the Future. Definitely a must see!

Wild to be here now and the Cobain exhibit is gone after all these years, and so has Frank (RIP); architectural genius. The building still hits. The architecture alone is worth it. Sci-fi, horror, and fantasy exhibits carry the experience. At this point, I'd come back for the rotating shows, Rebels & Icons on the 15th, and the upstairs Lounge Bar. Low key hidden, solid pop art food/drinks, complimentary chips with their own seasoning, and great service. The museum should separate this bar on Yelp, I want to review this separately.(hint) That combo makes the membership make sense.

The displays told a story from the dinosaurs all the way to modern Victoria. Everything was so thought out and interesting. The museum also had a limited time Egyptian display that was fascinating with tombs, everyday utensils and personal items and other artifacts. They charge a very reasonable $100/hour and they provide the tables, chairs and linens. The room is part of the museum, but allows for 8 round tables and a buffet table. There is a kitchen area that you can use as well. The place is old, but has a lot of character. Guests are free to walk through the museum during their event. The museum is small, but speaks a lot about the city. There is no fee to enter, but donations are accepted.

The Norwesco Telephone Museum has incorporated with them so they have some collections space as well. It is definitely worth a visit.

The docent that greeted us was friendly and informative, telling us that the museum was at one time six separate one-room residences that were dismantled and rebuilt to make this current museum. Full of many early and late century household items, placard's describing the way of life on the island, and has loads of interesting artifacts, photographs, and materials showing Orcas Island early community and civilization.

Imagination activated the moment you step in. There's so much that grabs even an adult's attention…read morewhen you walk into the doors that it is hard to focus on paying admission to get in. We lots of discipline, we got our tickets and entered the incredible children's museum. You walk into a woodland wonderland and it only gets better from there. We are pretty partial to our home museum in Cincinnati and haven't found a better one but this comes very close. Theres so many interactive areas. There is a treehouse down toward the right when you walk in along with a small town. A walk on airplane that allows kids to work with parcels, a train engine you can walk into with model train set behind. A water station as well as stairs to the outdoor portion with an extensive jungle gym, musical instruments, mini golf, and an excavation site with dinosaurs! They had science exhibits for older kids and younger kids alike. A toddler area as well. You could keep any kid toddler to about 10 years of age entertained for hours. Parking isn't free unless you can snag a coveted spot in front but it's not too pricey. Admission is $22 a person. They have last half hour free during summer which is nice. Staff are dressed in purple and nothing but kind and friendly. There is a cafe at the top (well, a "food truck" theme) and tables and benches to eat. Looked like you could pack your own food. Also looked like you could host birthday parties and field trips. All in all, impressive children's museum. We can't wait to come back!

We are super appreciative of the space on rainy days when we want to give him a change of scenery. Plus we often see groups doing birthday parties here, which sounds like fun. Would recommend!

We usually play once at each "station" and end up being there for a couple hours. New stations are sometimes added and others moved around, but some of our favorite features have been the vet clinic, the musical instruments, the farm section with a milkable cow, the arts and crafts room, the scarf wind tunnel, and the dark room with the interactive lights and feedback pad. And that's not even half of the stuff you can do there! Regarding the staff, they have been extremely kind and helpful any time I've asked a question or needed any assistance. It's a museum folks, not a first class airline cabin lol

There is a small collection of marine life, including a full killer whale skeleton hanging from the ceiling. The staff here are wonderful.
