Absolute perfection. Delightful folks, delicious wine, beautiful home and scenery. Great place to unwind!

Smart People making good wine! Went here for an office wine tasting. Very nice tasting room, beautiful scenery, and unique high quality wines. I liked the petite manseng and barbelio the best. The petite manseng was mildly sweet and medium bodied. Different and good. The desert wine was also excellent. I think they called it the liquid starburst. Tasting and roaming are the activities here. Grapes are on site with more imported for the wineing No tasting of the grapes. Only 12 acres of planted vineyards on the over 100 acre farm with 2000 vines per acre Owners are professionals (Family Medicine, patent attorney, doing this full time along with professional their professional duties) and love talking wine. Very nice destination with lots of other wineries nearby.

If you like to party hard as you gulp down your wine, this is NOT the place for you. It's quite and small, with lots of shade for those hot, bright summer days.

Social distancing, no problem. The winery had adopted very good practices to accommodate the tastings and relaxing under their wonderfully large trees. We came here mid week and met someone from Richmond. Good wine, many medal winners and relaxation

Kathy is a gem of a lady: knowledgeable and clearly passionate about the wines, she took me through the tasting of the featured wines. I even had the pleasure of meeting Toni, winemaker/owner and she is delightful and friendly. I can't wait to come back (with my husband this time), buy a bottle and sit by the pond.

I've driven by Granite Heights Winery a number of times and never stopped in. Recently, I decided to visit. I was out and about by myself, it was Mother's Day and the winery was not that busy during the time I visited. The tasting room is set inside an old house. So I sat at a table and one of the owners, I believe her name was Toni, greeted and me and poured the wines and provided insight into their wines. The wine lineup: 2014 Petit Manseng 2014 Chardonnay Rose (no vintage - bottled 2016) 2009 End of the Road 2011 Evening Serenade 2010 Lomax Reserve All of the wines were drinkable. Nothing absolutely wowed me. But I enjoyed the Evening Serenade enough that I bought a bottle to take home. Nice quiet winery, several groups were sitting outside enjoying the weather and the view of the pond. Very nice people. Check out Granite Heights Winery!

Venue: The inside venue isn't that great. As you enter, you walk to the left and they are having tastings on a few side tables. The acoustics in the room are pretty bad. There were about 10 people tasting in the room, and it was hard to hear our pourer. Our pourer was very knowledgeable of the wines, but it was hard to hear her. The venue itself seems to be a house that has been on the property for a while. Outside, there is a decent amount of seating. The seating in front of the house seems like the best, as you are overlooking a pond. Wine: The wine was pretty good. Nothing really stood out, but none of it was bad. We purchased a bottle of white wine and sat out by the tree. Overall: Worth a stop for a tasting, but wasn't one of our favorites.

For such a small and new place, I was surprised how good they are! Granite Heights opened in 2012 but were making wines several years before going public. This allows them a nice library of older vintages on their 6 wine / $7 tasting menu, ranging from a 2009 (!) to a 2013. That age gives many of their reds a complexity I don't often find on your standard northern Virginia tasting roster. My tasting was done by Toni Kilyk, half of the husband/wife team who owns the place. Both are transplanted New Yorkers who basically let their hobby go wild. I really enjoyed the quaint setting; the tasting building is small and didn't have an actual tasting bar, so she served me while I was seated at one of the small tables. Wines that I tried: Whites: None were buttery or especially sweet. The 2012 Chardonnay didn't go thru malolactic fermentation (a good thing for me, since that helps avoid the buttery taste) and the 2013 Petit Manseng went thru only partial malolactic fermentation. The 2012 Petit Manseng was a little sweet, but mostly because it was citricy. Reds: A lot to love. The 2009 End of the Road was at its peak; she described it as a food wine, which I can see. The 2011 Humility was earthy and a little spicy. The 2011 Cab Franc I liked almost as much as the Humility, and wasn't as bold. Another thing I like is both the Cab Franc and Humility come in half-sized bottles. So for a wine drinker who doesn't like to finish off a full bottle quickly, this is a great option. This is a dog-friendly place. Toni explained she hates seeing people leave their dogs in the car, so she always sends them back for their four legged friend. Dogs aren't allowed inside, but she provides a tasting for dog-owners on the patio. While I was there, the other server was getting a water bowl for another couple's pooch. Her own dog is well-represented on the wine bottle art. While only a few wines are estate, that should change as the 10 acres of densely planted vines soon come to maturity. Definitely something to look forward to.

Excellent little winery. We walked away with two bottles: Petit Manseng and a Chardonnay both were crisp and fruity with just a little bite. The winery has a small farmhouse which is used for a tasting room and the owner is also the winemaker. Even though it was crowded we had a good time and the owner spent a fair amount of his time explaining the wine, the year, and how the weather effects the wine. We highly suggest making the trip.

Bottle of the vineyard's Cabernet Franc.

Perfect, safe afternoon spent in this beautiful location with a bottle of their cab franc wine. Socially distanced, masks, friendly people. Lovely spot!

This is a very pretty vineyard with a nice assortment of wines. The tasting room is in an old farm house which was touched up/cleaned up but hasn't lost the charm. The floors looked to be original and beautiful. For a nominal price, they offer about 5 of their many wines for a tasting. The tasting room on the day we went was being managed by a very nice lady who engaged us in great conversation and was knowledgeable on the winery's offerings. They also have very nicely set up grounds and a pond with an assortment of tables and chairs throughout to sit and sip. Only suggestion I would have is to provide tastings of wines that customers are interested in rather than requiring them to buy a bottle. They do offer half bottles of some of their wines.

All that glitters is not gold. Can't recommend, the wine tasted average, nothing really stood out. Served in tiny plastic sample cups. Also no smoking on their entire premise, great way to relax your customers. Scenery is nice though. Dog friendly. If your looking for a more friendly option nearby, I recommend Molon.

I have tasted a few of the reds, and agree with the other reviews that the Lomax Reserve is really fantastic (it is up there with my favorites).
