Dr. Bassett was my hip surgeon a few years ago and I am so grateful for the job he did. Amazing work. No complaints there. I came back to Granite for a second opinion on a recent ankle break. I knew the ER had missed something because I've been walking on it with tolerable pain- now it's getting worse. I thought maybe it had healed wrong. In-house imaging showed that the sprain had dislodged a protruding bone. Dr. Simonson wrote for a stability brace, so I got it, wore it a couple times and now the pain is worse. It's the wrong brace for my injury. I explained to his MA twice, the pain is worse, asked for NON NARCOTIC pain medicine. I shouldn't have to feel guilty asking for a muscle relaxer and some extra strength Naproxen. I'm not a drug addict. And I hate being treated like one. Simonson should follow up with his All patients after their initial visit. To make sure people get better. Not worse. read more

Dr Simonson is the best. I had a severe broken ankle in Germany and came home for surgery. I got an appointment right away and surgery 2 days later. I never had any pain and 8 weeks later I am in regular shoes. read more

The good was that I was greeted promptly by the office staff. And then met with Colby Dobson. Chad beckoned me for an xray of only my hip and a bit of my lumbar spine was captured. He was not the most friendly or communicative tech I've dealt with. I really needed an xray of my neck as well and my total spine. It was a very short visit with Colby. He's very nice, I don't know what his credentials are, but didn't seem to ask enough questions or give me enough info or guidance. I think I was misled when it comes to going to this practice considering my needs (sciatica, neck and spine pain). But Colby was very nice and gave me a referral. Unfortunately they need my PCP referral to accept me as a patient even though my insurance is a PPO. So there's even still another step to take! Not a great experience overall. Went in for a shot in my hand, the reception technician asked if I could stand on one foot for a few seconds...... they charged my insurance $133.00!!!!!!! Dr Richardson did an excellent job diagnosing my issue. He laid out a plan to correct the issue.

I arrived early for my appointment and yet they were able to get me in quickly. And efficiently she took off the outer layer of bandage from my knee and uh, just taped it. With some butterfly stitch said that it was healing nicely and for me to go home and continue keeping ice on it, as well as doing my exercises and keeping up with physical therapy. She answered every question I had. Concerning, and I forgot to ask while I was in the appointment so I left a message. She was quick to call me back on Monday and answer all those questions. I saw the PA Mark who was very precise in explaining to me what was causing my pain. He then went over a few treatment options to consider which I chose one of (being a shot in my hip). My pain is somewhat better & I hope to see more relief in the coming days. My office experience was ok taking a while to get checked in but I was told they were training someone new so that was understandable. read more

To start off, I'm hearing impaired and told Dr Simonson that I was hard of hearing and I read lips he made sure that he was looking at me the entire visit..... I was seen on time. The waiting room was clean and organized. The exam rooms where the same..Dr. Simonson is very nice and made sure I understood everything that was going on. So I broke my wrist on October 31st 2020! (All Hallows Eve) Yes I was at a Halloween party, and a table just jump out in front of me, which in turn caused me to fall right on my right wrist! So the next morning November 1, 2020, (Día De Los Muertos) Why do I see a pattern here?!!? Hmmmm?!?!? So off to Granite Orthopedics I go! Turns out I have what is called Colles Fracture - this is a type of distal radius fracture in which the broken part of the radius tilts upward. This is usually caused by an impact to the wrist while it is extended. (Thus me trying to stop my fall by putting out my hand! But wait there's more....its not just a SIMPLE Colles Fracture, oh no.... I had to be special and break it into 2 different bones! I am glutton for pain, I guess! The staff and docs for were great, always greeted me with smiles (well, actually I don't know if they were smiling) what with the masks and all! But my experience was a good one ( not the broken wrist part) but with the visits and staff and what not It took me 6 months to recover and then 3 months of physical therapy.. Wow I could of had a baby during that time...but yea, NO! So I am now 95% back to myself....of course I can't open jars or bottles anymore, but hey that's what my hubby is for!! read more

Granite Orthopedics was a major assistance following spinal surgery. In the 3 months I've seen them I've had 4 appointments. I haven't seen the same person twice and each one had a different opinion. The doctor felt a shot would help. The next appointment the P.A. mentioned that my condition was pretty extensive n I MIGHT be looking at knee replacement. My 3rd visit the new P.A. referred me to a doctor 150 miles away for a procedure I can't do because its not covered by insurance. My 4th visit, the new P.A. referred me back to the original doctor. Ive spent 500 dollars. They took an x-ray and gave me a shot. As of now, the shot didn't help much and I'm now experiencing new pain so my condition has actually worsened while they've been jerking me around. Then to top it all off on my last visit I had mistakenly thought that day was our payday so I asked to make my co pay the next day because payday was was actually the next day. When I explained this I was then given a 5 minute lecture on responsibility in front of a full waiting room. Then when I tried to pay it I was told that THEY ACTUALLY OWE ME MONEY BECAUSE THEY OVERCHARGED ME 2 appointments ago. I am finished with them. I strongly urge anyone considering getting care from Granite Orthopedics in Prescott Az. To go see someone else. I think they have far too many patients and it is severely effecting patient care.​​ read more
