I would give no stars if I could. Very dissatisfied with this company. They sent someone out to measure 2 times. The measurements were wrong. They told me it was because we dropped the ceiling when we finished the kitchen. I paid for the trim to go to the top and they did not want to credit it. My cabinets arrived ($20000). The skin on 2 cabinets was missing as well as the glass for 2 cabinets and fillers. I have yet to receive them. They told me I need to all Kraftmaid myself. The counter top ($7200) was installed incorrectly and they are not trying to blame the fact that they shimmed it above the supports on my builder. BEWARE!!! It is everyone's fault but there's. My recommendation would be to not purchase you will be sorry. read more

I had a excellent experience here dealing with professional folks the entire way thru my process which I might add was FAST!! My new counters were in less than a week! We purchased our cabinets and granite from here. The granite was never fully installed, they never caulked the edges, the overhang was off by 1/2 an inch in some places and there was a chip. When I brought this up to the Manager, Mr. Whitley, did not believe me and the photos I brought to the store. When I asked how this would be fixed, he told me I dont know anything about granite and his professionals would take care of it or he can call my husband and talk to him. I ordered a remnant and I had two appointments cancelled because they broke it during shipping and another while cutting. Almost two months later it was installed - I was initially told no support needed but installers said differently. Now I have a 2x4 for support until I fix. I asked for discount with all the problems and Kenny said he had to buy a new slab - not my fault!!! I mentioned the install issue too and he said that's my responsibility - not my fault! No quality customer service. I was passed around to different people whenever I inquired on status. I got a $35 discount - big deal - not enough for all the headaches and failed installs. First of, I want to say that we have been searching for granite stores that offers the best price for our budget. We have been to Granite for less since 2012. Never really committed to purchasing, but Kenny was always there with a welcoming smile! Whenever we stop by, we always seem to find some great pieces but never really had the money to splurge on our kitchen countertop. Finally we had to replace our entire kitchen appliances in 2015, and we ended back with Kenny. He was extremely helpful in helping us and working with us. The process was really smooth and we are so happy with our countertop! Couple of weeks ago, we had gone back to Kenny, to help us with our bathroom remodel! Kenny and Kwame were excellent pair! I initially went to this place to shop for granite for my kitchen, but we found it cheaper else where. I did notice while shopping there that they had a ton of remnant pieces, so I went back to shop for a piece of remnant for my bathroom. I found several remnant pieces that I liked, and decided I would give them my kitchen business as well, If they cut me a deal. The salesperson shared that he would discuss it with his manager and he would call me back that afternoon. Unfortunately, he never called me back. I called him the following day and he said the manager said the deal was good. I asked if I could that day to pay the deposit and schedule. He shared that he another appointeme by. I responded, I was flexible and he suggested I comet be next day at 9:30 am. When I arrived the day, money in hand, I learned the salesperson was off for the day. I was then assisted by someone else and had to inform them of my entire scenario and re-pick all of my remnant options. I was told for the second time, I would get a call back. Ayanna called me back later that afternoon and told me her manager said all of the remnant options that I chose (5 options), I could not get the deal on. He shared that in needed to come back AGAIN and select from 8-10 other options. Although frustrated, I acquiesced and was driving back. I explained to the manager my frustration with the multiple trips and lack of communication amongst employees and the inconvenience it was. His response was, it was my fault because I had worked with two other sales people. I reminded him that his employees made an appt for me to come and see him today and he wasn't there and was not my fault. I finally got so frustrated with the manager his attempt to shift the blame to me, that I told him, I was no longer interested and would go and shop with the other 3-4 granite places that I passed in croton coming to his place of business in Millersville. We used Granite Outlet in Millersville, MD for a full kitchen renovation in the Spring of 2016 and were very pleased with the results. Kwame was our sales person and project manager. When we gave him a budget, he sought out discounts for us, and was very flexible in working with us on a payment schedule. Jaime was our contractor and it's clear that he takes a lot of pride in his work. He was trustworthy, easy to communicate with and reliable. The project came in above budget and about a week over schedule, but only because we added things to the scope of work (which Kwame and the crew gladly handled). Overall, Granite Outlet was incredible value compared to quotes we got from other companies and the work was high-quality. We are thrilled with our new kitchen. read more

I would strongly urge you to hire a tile installation person independent of them, because they pretty much ruined our backsplash due to their unfamiliarity of the product we supplied them with and apparently do not see the urgency of coming out the next day to inspect it. If your contractors are not familiar with a product, they needed to read the directions before blindly slapping it onto my beautiful Italian glazed porcelain tile bricks, which are now covered in grout where they should not be and the grouting is so uneven that I just want it completely redone (and definitely not by them)! Combine this with the fact that there was a huge language barrier and I was barely able to communicate with the tile installer, although, he knew enough to say, "Lady, you let me finish." Well, I did and was furious with the outcome! I left a voicemail for his supervisor, which was never returned, and when my husband called the following day (today) to address the issue, he was told that they would not be out until midday the following day. Seriously? Once the consultation was completed, wherein the contractor initially they thought they had done a "good job", my husband pointed out the fact that the brick tiles were still covered in grout that should have been removed and that the grout was uneven and discolored in numerous places due to the installer failing to familiarize himself with the product before applying, after being told NUMEROUS times that this was not a typical grout material, as well due to the fact that we were unable to communicate with him because of the language barrier! We were told that they were going to "scrub our tiles" the following week, which did not work! They agreed to reimburse us the cost of our tiles and the installation cost, minus $200, which, by that point we were so tired of the BS, we just let it go! After consulting afterwards with our tile supplier (Compass Stone and Tile in Annapolis) and the grout manufacturer (Mapei), they both agreed that it was incorrectly applied and are working with us on a solution to fix Granite Outlet's mess! That is what i call customer service! Sidenote ... they did do a very nice job on our quartz countertops and the drywall repair/painting portion of our project, but the backsplashes were such an integral part of the design, the fact that they did such a poor grouting job due to improper application of the fast-drying grout, which was mentioned to them several times, prompted me to give them a negative review. read more

I purchased the most beautiful granite in the whole world!! I just love it! And my salesperson, Kenny, was spectacular! Kenny stopped everything and rolled out the red carpet every time I entered the showroom or called. And I was surprised as their prices. I had shopped at 7 other granite showrooms and Granite Outlet beat everyone's prices by a few hundred dollars. And last but not least was Carlos, who came out to measure for the installation. Carlos gave me a few tips to elevate my cabinet island to make my granite on top pop! He was so right!! The staff was very friendly and seems overwhelmed the day I worked with them. I saw one type of cabs in white that I asked the designer to order in grey. However, when I recv the cabs. They were low profile cabs not even displayed in the store. The product came is damaged and looked like it was very poorly put together, the paint job was bad (will add pics later). I tried to return them but was told cabs were non-returnable even though I did not order custom cabinets. I also had Quartz on order but canceled due to my experience w/ the cabs. I bought the same exact Quartz from another Granite place for $1000 less and they did a great job with installation. I may adjust my review based on outcome. read more

Our usual fabricator was unable to help us due to health problems, so I got in my car and started driving to Crofton to check out a couple of granite places I found online. On the way I spotted the Granite Outlet sign on Rt 97 so thought I would stop there first, then make my way down to Crofton after. Kenny was extremely busy, but was sure to take the time to introduce himself and find out what I was looking for. You know how you sometimes just get a good feeling about someone? I figured that was emotion talking, so I did a quick Better Business Search, and they have an A+ rating. I was honestly surprised that the price was about the same our old fabricator would have charged, who always said he was giving us this great deal. Maybe he was, maybe the Granite Outlet did as well? Whatever the case, the customer service has blown me away. First we had someone come and measure for the countertops, took measurements with a good old fashion tape measure, then pulled out this expensive looking gadget, then rechecked all the measurements and made a template on the computer. The next day, I received a photo of the granite I picked, along with blue tape on it marking off where each countertop piece would be located, for my approval. Then Kenny, our salesperson shows up with the tile guy, he wanted to measure and check out the work before coming so he could be prepared. Wow!!! I was on the schedule. Two very polite young men came, ON TIME, and removed our existing countertops and installed our new ones. The next day a plumber came and hooked up our new sink/faucet. The tile backsplash was to be installed that same day, but due to a scheduling conflict on my end I had to postpone it until the following week. The tile installer, Andy, said he would arrive between 8:00 - 8:30 a.m. I was a bit shocked when he arrived at 8:03. Again, two very polite young men, very respectful of my hardwood floors, new countertops etc. Kenny called to check in on the progress and my satisfaction with the work. It is refreshing to find a company that exceled in customer service from sales through installation. Sometimes, after a job well done, a company will ask me to post a review. This time, I decided to post this review as soon as the work was done. I was shocked when I opened Yelp to find the negative reviews. We chose this business for our kitchen counter tops because they were the most affordable and had some of the best stone options. Having price compared several other businesses, this was clearly the cheapest. Well, we thought we were getting a deal on a beautiful stone, as quoted in the estimate. However, that price was too good to last. After the initial estimate, we got hit with a delivery fee due to the steps in our building. (I have talked to other sources who say that is not the common practice.) Secondly, after the measurements were taken, we saw a nice hefty hike in the quote that was attributed to unforeseeable linear feet. There should not have been any surprises, as the associate who did our estimate had the drawing from the contractors to work off of. I can understand slight differences between the estimate and final cost, but over 10% difference was ridiculous. Beware, they do not itemize the estimates, so you have no idea how much each option is costing you. Overall it felt like we were nickeled and dimed, and we would NOT recommend anyone using this place. read more

It has taken me months to write this review. I wasted hours of time designing a new kitchen with Granite Outlet only to told they would not honor an original quote. Some would call it "bait" and "switch." I call it bad business. They are deceitful and do not care about the consumer. I still have the written communications to substantiate my claims. read more

Do not bother. While their quotes are reasonable, the quality of their work is shoddy. They appear to use inexperienced and probably illegal workers. They took little responsibilty for leveling the cabinets after several tries and refused to own up to their errors in their work. I do not recommend. read more

I would never use this company again if they were the only granite supplier in Anne Arundel County! We had a contract for over $5,000 with them and the only part of the entire contract that was done to our satisfaction was the counter tops. The floor and backsplash were a complete disaster. The day before the scheduled installation of the counter there was a minor snow storm and the installation was re-scheduled for two days later. The plumber was scheduled to come on the same day the counter installers were here, so the plumber was re-scheduled for the following day(Saturday) at 9:30 AM. He didn't show until 1 PM, delaying the installation of the floor and backsplash until Monday. The floor and backsplash installer arrived on Monday and a young man was dropped off at 10 AM to begin removing the old floor. We had informed Granite Outlet (Clara) that there were multiple layers of old tile on the floor. For over three hours the young man worked on the floor and it was obvious that he didn't know what he was doing. When the other installer returned at 2 PM they began using a shovel and hammer to get up the old floor. The noise lever was unbelievable! Sometime during the floor removal a major dent was put in the freezer door on the bottom. The installer would not acknowledge that his employee had damaged the refrigerator. We asked the manager, Kenny, to come to the house and see what had been done. He tried to insinuate that our teenage grandchildren were probably responsible for the dent. They have lived here for over 12 years and nothing has ever happened in the past. Kenny would not acknowledge the installer was responsible and refused to be responsible. Kenny also told us that the job would be finished that day (Mon) and ended up taking until Wed. I definitely would not use Granite Outlet again and think their customer service stinks and is basically non-existent. I would rate them no stars. One of the major problems we had with the installers was their lack of understanding English. It was very difficult to communicate with them because they could only speak Spanish and did not understand many of the questions we asked. I would recommend that any future customers make sure they can speak to the installers in English! Many times they would just raise their hands and it was clear they did not understand what we were saying to them. It was very clear that these installers were very young and did not have sufficient experience to do this kind of work. read more

As a retired restoration contractor (had 10 in-house carpentry crews and other trades under our roof) I am VERY familiar with estimating, fabrication and installation of kitchens. I chose 5 granite suppliers/installers fairly local (Balt - DC) to look at. My first question asked "can I see your production department"? All but one tried (desperately) not to allow this; insurance reasons you know! My come-back was "do you want to make a sale"? Four of the five looked like something I would do in my basement workshop! Granite Outlet was the only one that said "Great, we would love that, lets make an appointment"! Now this peaked my curiosity. (At this point I did not pay attention to samples; you can have an unbelievable piece of stone, but with a poor template and cuttings your eyes will always go to these problems first and miss out on the beauty once installed. Human Nature.) Once at their fabrication shop I was amazed (compared to what I had seen thus far)! Expensive equipment, 20+ "shop" employees, and when asked, our guide said they put out 4-5 kitchens a day on average. It was clean and well organized with workers knowing what their job was (no standing around wondering what to do). That day SIX kitchens were going out! (When I had a chance I "secretly" asked a worker how many kitchens they had that day and he verified what our guide had stated. My wife calls that sneaky but I do not! YOU DO NOT SELL THAT MANY KITCHENS UNLESS YOU ARE DOING AN OUTSTANDING JOB and I wanted the truth!) I could believe that as the shop was hustling; without a guide you will get run over! I was sold, especially when our "guide" went into further detail about quarrying the stone and Granite Outlet's direct involvement in the initial processing of the raw material. They have their own buyers! No middleman! Sold and had not even payed much attention to their samples! Back to Millersville, chose our stone (wife had that done already) and took a scrap piece of our stone home. Now for the finish test. Water, oil, acid (vinegar and one other) and coloring were applied. The test said to do it for one hour; I did it for 24hrs. No discoloration, marring nor loss of shine! Again, SOLD!!! Now for the template. This is where the finesse starts as NO wall or floor is perfectly straight or flat. A Digital Template machine was used for this most important part of the overall process and the fit was perfect. Perfect! If this digital measuring device is not used you are NOT getting the best product (I had measured up and ordered 1,000+ kitchens). I would like to regress after looking at other reviews here; everyone has a bad day so don't take it personally. The most important parts of the process are the stock material, the template and fabrication. Yes, also installation, although is much, much easier to install a product that is a perfect fit. As I look to the right and see these other reviews it is hard to believe we are speaking of the same store much less company. I was told once that for every job that job done well that customer MAY tell one other person. For every bad job they will tell 10. It is better to lose your deposit and deal with that later than to have a bad job; what starts off bad normally ends that way. Maybe I am just a "hard case" and received "special attention", but I truly doubt this (at least from my experience). One last thing. We learned in high school physics that crystals hold frequency. A friend once told me that thoughts and words have frequency. For a year now, every morning while the coffee is brewing I sit at the island and place my forehead on my beautiful, cool granite counter and reflect on my new day. I have found when my thoughts are positive I pick my head up with a smile; and vice versa. OK, maybe it's my imagination. Don't know. What I do know is we are vary thankful we found a great vendor for a kitchen (main) feature!! Do your homework, shop around and then go to Granite Outlet. I felt their pricing to be VERY fair for the product and service provided.
