I brought the window and the broken latch with me, expecting some basic assistance finding a replacement part. Instead, because I didn't have an original order number and hadn't purchased the window directly through them, they refused to help. Maybe the weekday staff is more knowledgeable, but the employees working that Saturday either didn't know the Milgard products or simply couldn't be bothered to help someone who wasn't making a large purchase. It felt like the moment they realized I was only looking for a replacement part, they lost all interest in assisting me. If you're expecting customer service, product knowledge, or any willingness to help solve a simple problem, look elsewhere. There are better options out there. Update: Reached out to Roadrunner Glass in Fremont and they were able to identify my window from pictures as the Tuscany model and the Smart Touch Latch I needed. They did not even me to come in with the window and only needed a picture. The first is 20 years old and shows no wear and tear. A twin to the new one. Dealing through Home Depot was quick and easy selecting options and all the administrative paperwork. The order passed over to Tuff Shed in San Jose and they contacted me the same day to finalize the contract (all done electronically). Ordered on a Friday, custom painted on Tuesday, and installed Wednesday. Quality, value and workmanship are excellent. The installation crew (Luis and Willber) was fantastic. Both of those installs were great, but my recent experience has been worse than a nightmare. I started this process 3 and a half months ago. I needed two new sheds at a new house. The salesman repeatedly delayed my order promising me various free add-ons and discounts. He continually changed his story as well as how and when i could order. I just wanted to get the order placed. I burned a couple of months with his incompetence. I finally decided to order through their call center and the salesman called me to bitch at me. I ended up talking to a couple of local managers who both provided the standard customer service BS. However, when I mentioned to one of them that I ordered two shed previously and it went smoothly, he responded with a comment about customers used to work directly with Tuff Shed and things have changed. I agree, they have definitely changed for the worse. I finally got my order placed and it was an administrative hassle. I paid extra for extended eaves on both sheds. During the install I noticed that on one shed they only extended the eaves on 3 sides not 4. I contacted them and all the responses were essentially that's the way they do it. One local person essentially agreed with me that it was not a great practice to not have an eave above the door, but that's the way the shed is designed, I should have put the door somewhere else. Tuff Shed seems to have a pattern of blaming the customer for their incompetence. I heard it over and over. I offered to pay them more to extend the eave over the door and they would not. Now I have a shed with no roof and I need to tear off the trim and build an extended roof eave myself, then I'll need to install the roof sheathing, drip cap, and shingles. Tuff Shed is providing me lengths of their trim pieces at no charge so I can build an eave and complete their work.

This was perfect for me as I've been wanting to purchase a specific plant for a friend and hoped it would be available during this fall season. Found the plant and took it to the nursery register. I was warmly and genuinely greeted by Jackie, who showed me the prettiest orange poinsettia plant! I wasn't in the market for it, but now I wanted it! However, my main purpose was to buy the Tecoma bush at 50% off. I showed Jackie my phone with the email ad. Since there was no barcode scan on the email, she had to try another way to mark my purchase at 50% off. Finally, she had to ask a manager, who tried to say that not all Ace Hardware stores might be participating in this promotion... My husband explained that S. King Rd. location was printed on the email... Then the manager okayed the discount... I was surprised that they were unaware about the Black Friday promotion, but happily I eventually left satisfied.
