I needed more space in the garage and a way to tidy up the backyard so I decided we needed a Tuff Shed. I went online to the configurator which was a nice and easy way to customize exactly what I needed. I had the space so decided to extend the length by 2 feet. I was then called by Larry at the store and he was very responsive in making sure I had enough space to work with and scheduling. Not too long afterwards, the crew came and was extremely professional. These guys are the type of folks that clean up after they work and also field all of the annoying questions I throw at them. After a very easy ordering process, my Tuff Shed was installed. I checked over the shed, and all looked good; however, there was much equipment around the shed (I had Black Diamond Pavers do the leveling---great company, by the way-- and they were returning to put in synthetic grass after the shed was installed, so there was still equipment around), and I did not notice that the shed was off-set; that is, it was not square, like a tilted picture frame on a wall. When the Black Diamond workers arrived to install my synthetic grass, they saw this immediately and told me if they did the grass install, it would make the Crooked placement all the more noticeable. The shed needed to be moved about six inches on one side to make it square. It was obvious to me as soon as they pointed it out. I called the rep, and this is when the problems began. It was obvious she did not want to help. Instead of responding to the problem, she tried to dismiss it. She told me they only had two-man crews (a complete lie as there were 4 or 5 workers here when the shed was installed), and that wasn't enough to move the shed (so send more! sheesh...). Through the entire conversation she was dismissive and uncaring of my issue. No desire to help whatsoever. Finally she said she would report my issue to the company, which I think was just her way of getting rid of me. That was the last communication. Never responded. They had my money, so they just ghosted me. I couldn't delay the work with Black Diamond any longer, so gave they the go-ahead. Just like the Black Diamond workers said, the off-set placement was far more noticeable after the grass install. Bottom Line: I would never do business with this company again, and I strongly advise you to look elsewhere. Once they had my $8k, they were done with me. I went into the San Jose store on Memorial Day weekend and Jason was very helpful in helping me design my Tuff Shed. We ended making some minor design changes the following week, Jason was very helpful via email and on the phone. As for the installation, the 3 workers took about 4 hours to install the 8x10 premier lean-to. They did a great job and the shed really blends in with my house. I have had a frustrating experience dealing with Jose, who has repeatedly insisted that I sign off on the shed installation despite all elements of my order being incomplete or incorrect. It took 4 tries to get the roof constructed correctly, and I had to insist multiple times to get it re-done. Jose has also insisted that what I purchased and requested is not actually what Tuff Shed agreed to provide. Why would I purchase a set of building plans for my shed if the building plans are generic and don't match what was constructed? What value is there in that? Jason was great in helping me design the shed, and put in quite a bit of work helping me. Unfortunately, he has been let down by the rest of his team. read more

Very unhappy with Tuff Shed's lumber, craftsmanship, and customer service. Recently had Tuff Shed install a shed, and due to a wonky middle rafter it resulted in a hump in the ceiling after drywall was installed. Had to rip out the drywall, notch the rafter, and reinstall the drywall. During this process I could not get a return email or phone call from Tuff Shed's customer service, and they went ahead and charged my credit card for the final 10% without resolving the issue with me first. But with any purchase that adds "functionality and beauty" to your home, up front consulting at the sales level has always been most important to me as they have the experience to offer additional suggestions as to which design and model makes best sense for you. Full explanation of the products, the options, the add-ons, and the Doc-U-Sign paperwork was explained without any shocks or suprises later. We worked with Tuff Shed San Jose to build a 12x10 Lean-To Shed with a 6/12 roof pitch. Our primary point of contact was Larry Glick and he was very professional and knowledgeable throughout the whole process. Larry worked with us on a few configuration options and answered all of our follow-up questions quickly. We wrapped up the whole design/order process by scheduling an appt with Larry at their San Jose office to finalize all the color options. Placed order that Saturday. Install scheduled on Monday and completed that Tuesday. Install went fine with the subcontractors that Tuff Shed San Jose selected, but the factory sent out the wrong colored vents. Worked with the "Ops Team" via email and they sent someone to replace the vents on Thursday. Went thru a light rain shortly after the install was complete and no issues. So all in all a very good experience. From the time the order was placed to the time we had a completed shed was less than a week. Would recommend to others. read more

Honestly, if you want to save money on lumber at this ridiculously over priced moment and you are in need of a shed purchase this. BUT, just make sure you have a carpenter friend or knowledge about going over and hammering in nails where they should have been placed. I will never recommend this company to anyone. They cut corners, don't respond to emails or complaints. Do it yourself or make sure you raise hell when they don't put the shed together the correct way. doesn't take much to have good customer service but I guess some companies haven't got the 2022 memo. Details** -Left shiners all over the shed (I have an 8 month old son who is learning how to walk. Shiners are nails that stick out of the other side of the wood because whoever put them in missed the fuvking two by four ) -The door frame would have warped and wobbled off the hinges in a year if we didn't go back and add a two by four to each side because the dimensions are off. (More shiners) -Roof doesn't sit properly on the frame because the two ppl they sent to put this together cut corners and didn't use a screw to suck down each corner. Used nails or more like on nail for each corner. - The screws to the hinges on the door aren't screwed into the door frame just the outer ply wood Like I said, if you have the time to go over it yourself or have a friend that can correct the bullshit build these ppl do then purchase it. I guess saving money will cost your time in the long run ALSO, this was a simple build, no windows just frame and roof. read more

I purchased a 8x16 Tuff Shed. The installers are contracted out and not Tuff Shed employees, which is fine if the work was done to Tuff Shed standards. I had many issues with my install to include, crooked doors/hardware, wrong hardware, damaged drip cap, to name a few. Tuff Shed requested pictures, which I sent. They sent out their own employee Robert who was great. He noticed other issues I did not catch. Robert is the guy that fixes unsatisfactory work. He was coming from a previous job before he arrived at mine and he was going to another job after. If I could give Robert his own review, it would be a 5. Although most of these issues were installer issues, there was a load bearing 2x4 that was severely splintered in multiple locations. If you bought wood in bulk for a project, this piece would be the one you throw out because it didn't make the cut. Tuff Shed charged over 6K for my shed and for that kind of cash, I expected a little more. read more

From start to finish I've had a very positive and excellent experience with Tuff Shed. I run a small non-profit program for kids under the umbrella of a large non-profit organization. Our needs around how to pay for the shed and order it were unusual. I worked with Salesperson Larry Glick, who was terrific! He helped me understand what we were ordering (we had an architect give us our specs), and worked with me over a holiday weekend to ensure that our shed was ordered properly and paid for using the method we required. There is online signature and payment software that helps expedite the process and gives me electronic receipts for each step which, as a business manager, is super helpful. Larry and the team at Tuff Shed went out of their way to help us get the shed delivered to the site! And then the single carpenter installed the entire thing on his own in a matter of hours - and it looks perfect. Overall a truly easy and happy process. I would recommend Tuff Shed to anyone; and if we need more storage I will definitely be calling them! read more

What can I say about Tuff Shed? 1. The design services aren't bad 2. They are good at collecting their money and are insistent on payments being made even when the work hasn't been completed. 3. Shed was installed on the date promised but not-completed. The installers were sorry but no follow up by Tuff Shed (they seemed clueless except of course, they wanted their money) 4. Scheduled completion. The installers didn't show up. Calls to Larry at Tuff Shed went unanswered. When I finally go a call back from the coordinator, she was clueless that the installers didn't show up (I guess Larry had already received his commission so why did he care?) 5. Finally completed on that Saturday Issues 1. They seemed more concerned about collecting their money rather than finishing the job 2. Larry doesn't return his phone calls. 3. Work quality is only average. Not really that satisfied considering I paid $9K for my shed. All in all I if I ever use Tuff Shed again, it won't be with Larry or with the San Jose office. Had a Tuff Shed built in our backyard by 2 young super hard working lads. They started at 930am and were done by 5pm. Worked hard all day, without taking a lunch break. I asked, "what about lunch", and one of them said, "we wouldn't finish if we took a lunch." Felt bad, so I took them some water and snacks. The shed came out super nice and matches the house. It is super sturdy with windows and 2 skylights. Did all my negotiating with Larry Glick of Milpitas Tuff Shed. Also, super easy and super nice to deal with. Did it all over the telephone due to the lock down. Designed my shed over my computor with his locked into mine so I could see everything I was asking for being designed by him. Ordered my Tuff Shed via Home Depot on a Friday and it was a simple, quick and no nonsense process with ordering my Keystone 4x8 shed. Tuff Shed called me right away on Monday and gave me the option to install the next day or Thursday. Whoa! That's quick! So i opted for today and received a follow up call the Friday before with a 8 - 10am arrival window. Installers came at 9am and quickly started the job...they were very efficient in setting it up, adding shingles, painting and cleaning up the area....finished by 11 a.m. When finished, they had me look things over which looked great!
