A childhood summer vacation favorite was Grant's Farm. Now you can go for their summer evening event series. I went on the 4th of July on the 250th anniversary of... well I guess it wasn't the anniversary of the first-ever July 4th, but the first one like I'm talking about. I was impressed with how uncrowded the event was. The crowds were less than on the average days in the summers of my youth. These days there are no elephants at Grant's Farm. I saw a number of animals including some really cute hens and several wallaby. I fed goats and some tread on my American flag dress. I was happy that Grant's Farm's biergarten had several non-beers on free offer. I thought it was beer and only beer! First I had a seltzer made with vodka blueberry flavor... I think it's called Nutrl. Yum! We could smell the blueberry from a couple of feet away. My second drink was High Noon vodka iced tea It was good, but if I get to make that choice again, I'd go back to the blueberry. My friend and I split a vegan bratwurst with sauerkraut and a side of mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was pretty flavorful and the temperature was right (we weren't expecting much). I liked the bratwurst, but my companion wasn't wowed. The 4th of July drone show was a nice alternative to fireworks. We liked watching and figuring out the formations. Our only tip to the venue: reduce the volume of the band. We were sitting as far away as we could, and maybe there were speakers near us, but no matter the reason: this was at least 40% too loud for all of us. Those hens were so darling! read more

What a fun afternoon! To my surprise, Grant's Farm does not charge admission. What they do charge for is parking. $27. Yikes. If possible, prepay online for $18. And, don't worry, there are plenty of things to spend money on: personal tours, food and drink, feed for the animals (not the horses), trinkets, camel rides...you know the routine. Once parked, you need to decide on where to visit first. There are the stables on one side of the parking lot and the deer park tram on the opposite end. We started with the stables. The stable itself is beautiful - pristine. Peaceful even. There were 4 of the gorgeous Clydesdale "big boys" there when we visited. All but one were 3 years old - huge, and not yet full grown. You may pet them though signs warn of the possibility of biting (the horses biting you, not you biting the horses!) I saw a caretaker scratching a horse behind his ears. I tried it and that big guy about melted right there. I wouldn't call it magical but it was pretty darn neat. We then walked across the parking to catch the tram ride through the deer park (many more animals besides just deer) , we arrived at the Tier Garden. Here, you will find animal/bird shows (just go in without expectation), animals to pet and feed, camel rides and free beer. WHAT?? Yes, 2 free Budweiser products for those over 21. There is plenty of food for purchase too. (Skip the soft pretzel. Calling it "soft" was false advertising.) We spent about 2 hours here but you can spend as much or as little time as you want. Grant's Farm is a must see when visiting STL. Good luck finding a better deal - $27 for a fun afternoon for 4 adults - heck, just the free beer was worth it. Wonderful experience. The little tram ride takes you through the property where you see lots of free roaming animals. You learn about the property and the history of it. Once the tram stops, there is lots to see. The goat pen was full of goats which you can feed. Then there are chickens, rabbits, alpacas, camels, cows, and a lot of other animals you can visit. My daughter, granddaughter and I went here on a Saturday at 3:45. They close at 5:00! Grant's Farm is free but then they hit you with $27.00 twenty-seven for parking!!! W H A T?! The tram had closed for the day that drives you around the farm which we had been informed - they still had the tram that takes you to the petting zoo area and restaurant. Be prepared to pay more money if you want to feed the animals - $3.00 for the goats and birds and $10 for a camel ride and photo. An hour was plenty of time for our 18 month old. Plan ahead if you want to see the entire Farm, arrive early and bring money. read more

Grant's Farm delivers every single time. It's one of those places that somehow nails all-ages fun without feeling cheesy. The animal interactions are a blast, the band/DJ always seems to get people up and dancing, and the drink samples are shockingly generous. The one downsides? Parking is very pricey. Also, they shut the sample station down way too early. They stop pouring a full 30 minutes before the farm closes, and if you happen to be on that last train ride in, don't bother rushing to get your sample. By the time you get to the sampling area, it'll already be closed. It's frustrating, especially because everything else runs so smoothly. Me and my family have been going to grants farm for years but tonight was a horrible experience. We paid for our parking but once we got into the park (still daylight) there were no horses out nor could you go see them in the stalls. To do anything we had to pay $77 for everyone but it was not explained what the $77 was for. We assumed it was to see more animals or maybe even the horses but we were wrong. All it was, was a loud crowded drone light show that once we got to we could not leave. Me and my sister both have auditory processing disorder which makes it difficult in loud crowded spaces and when we went to guest services they refused to let anyone leave, including me and my sister. In my opinion being charged $27 for parking and $77 for a light show we weren't aware we were paying for is absolutely ridiculous. Grants farm should be ashamed at not only the stress on my family but the stress on me and my 11 year old disabled sister. Our disabilities should be taken more seriously. How in the world is this place FREE?! Grant's Farm was super rad and one of the highlights of a recent multiday road trip. Parking is $15, but that is a steal for the experience. You take a tram ride through the wildlife area, where you can see a variety of deer, turkeys, etc. While on the tram there is a staff member who talks about the grounds and history (it was a little hard to hear but whatevs). We got to see the animal show, which my littles loved. They were stoked to have gotten to pet a pig and a python. Every staff member we encountered was very friendly. The grounds were beautifully maintained. While we were there it was decorated for Halloween which was fun. The $free.99 beer samples was awesome. I was expecting to pick from Bud and Bud Light, but they had a whole slew of beers to include some canned seltzer options too. The Golden Road "Mango Cart" is a personal favorite, which they had. Grants Farm is always a great time for the whole family! I feel like it's incredibly affordable when you factor in parking, the amount you can do in the farm, and the free drink vouchers. The tram ride in the beginning is so fun- love learning the history of the area. My daughter loves feeding the goats the most, and the carousel is always a hit. This is such a great family spot! Everyone is very friendly and the animals seem to actually enjoy the visitors (could be the snacks they are getting from us lol). We enjoyed walked around and being able to pet and intersect with all of the furry and feathered residents. When we were visiting they had two young horses that were frolicking in one of the pastures which was very entertaining to watch! Although I wouldn't agree with the $25 parking fee I would definitely recommend this place. They have an area where you can see Clydesdales and take pictures with them and learn a little bit more about the Budweiser Clydesdale's. And then if you're going into the farm area, you get to go through a deer Park and see all these different animals to include deer, bison, alpacas, and more. My favorite part was that you could feed baby goats milk. They're pretty small and it's pretty entertaining. We walked around and saw all the other animals to include rabbits, camels, cows, and more. They also had a nighttime event that started later in the evening, but we left as it started. This was a super cute afternoon. I would highly recommend for families. The one thing I would point out, though is some of the animals at one point looked a little bit overheated, and we had to tell one of the staff members that there was excessive panting that was abnormal. Took the family (with 2 toddlers in tow) to Grant's Farm during the Labor Day weekend. Weather was great so it was crowded. Admission into the park is free but everything to do costs - feed animals (goats, birds, rabbits), carousel, camel ride, etc. Plus, $25 to park your car. It can add up fast. The tram ride around the park was nice but we ended up waiting almost an hour to get in the tram and you have to ride the tram to get to the park. Not sure why, but a couple of trams came in and out of the station empty. I would recommend this for older children, not toddlers. Beware, the goats are VERY aggressive when feeding them from a bottle. I would suggest to allow smaller children to feed them through the fence. They offer adults 2 complimentary drinks. We plan on going back but will wait until the toddlers are older and going on a weekday. read more

What an amazing experience this was! I did not know what to really expect but was blown away at how fun and festive this farm/museum was! Parking is initially 25$ per car but that's all you pay! The petting zoo and animal shows are all included. You can pay additional fees to feed the animals and at the food court but the overall admission price is included with your parking fee. They give you two free beers with the selection of seven and for those who wanted more because the band played over four hours there was more to buy as well sandwich, sandwiches, and fries. The amount of animals you can see are endless, the vendors are decently priced, and it's always fun exploring the old Anheuser-Busch buildings. It's not $16 for parking but now $20... Bummer. But this is per car so load it up with people! When you enter the parking lot, you will be near the clydesdale horse area. You can pet some horses and take the tour. You would have to walk across the street to ride the tram and experience the conservation side of the property. This will then lead you to the touristy area of the park. There were so many types of animals to see. Some were super close to the road so you were able to get a close up experience. It was also a nice tram ride to experience the fresh air and scenery. Look at the show times right as you enter. It's a pretty entertaining show even though we only caught the last few mins of it. We were able to see parrots, a rabbit and snake. Psst. There were peacocks just chilling along the areas where the baby strollers were parked. Feed the goats! It's only $2 + tax. For a small bottle of milk, you will have the greatest time feeding these baby goats. They were everywhere and the cutest things ever! The bigger ones know better so they will stand on their hind legs and climb on you to get you to feed them. They will also nibble at your clothing. They apparently liked my rain coat very much. Fun fact: Did you know that goats are actually smarter than cats and dogs (says Google anyway). There's also the option to feed parrakeets ($3) and ride a camel ($10). There were plenty of various animals in their pens and cages to experience. Roam this area of the park at your leisure and enjoy the fresh air. There's also a restaurant area towards the end. Yes there were families and kids everywhere, but the kiddo inside me really enjoyed seeing the cute and colorful animals. Again, FEED THE GOATS. It's super fun!!! Grant's Farm was suggested as a place to kill some time, so, we decided to check it out. Admission is free but you have to pay for parking. I believe it was $20. Once inside, you wait in a single file line for a tram that takes you around the park grounds. There were a few people in line so it was a bit of wait but nothing too ridiculous. The tram ride was narrated and the guide was pointing out the different animals to us. They have quite a variety! We next checked out the petting zoo. We then moved into a large plaza area. Since I was over 21, I was entitled to 2 free beers. I believe I had the Amberbock. It hit the spot! After relaxing for a minute, we decided to leave. After leaving, we went to an adjacent park area to check out the Clydesdale horse stable. The horses were cool to look at, but they kept their distance. Grant's Farm is classic, I don't care how old I get it never gets old to me. I love, love, love Grant's Farm!!! I go to Grant's Farm for my pure enjoyment. I love the tram ride into the park and hearing the history of Grant's Farm and how it came to exist, that NEVER gets old to me, as well as enjoying watching the wildlife in the fields. Then of course I absolutely LOVE feeding the baby goats and the adult goats. They are both incredibly greedy but sweet. The only thing I do like is the big goats bully the smaller goats when you are feeding them and push them out of the way so they can eat the ice-cream cones filled with food. Which brings me to the prices. The pellet filled ice-cream cones are $2 a cone and the milk bottles, don't get me started, especially since they don't even fill the small bottles to the top anymore and be careful, make sure they put the bottle lid on correctly otherwise you have paid for milk that is dripping on the ground. I rode the camel for $10 a ride, well worth it to me. I'm telling you......I'm a big kid at heart. The man running the camel ride is extremely nice and courteous. I asked first if it was ok if I rode, since technically I was the only adult riding. He even stopped the camel in front of my sister so she could snap a few pictures for free, otherwise the lady is also standing there taking pictures for you to purchase. The ride is like 2-3 circles around the bend. Grant's Farm has soo many other animals that I haven't even touched on, check out the giant tortoise next to the camel ride, the parakeet enclosement. Where you are able to feed them, as well as the llamas, various other birds and species. And last but not least, you can't go to Grant's Farm and not see the Budweiser Clydesdale's, that would be an abomination. They are a St. Louis staple and a site to see. They can be seen inside the park as well as outside the park, there are two Clydesdale's areas located outside of the park. The beer garden/courtyard houses options for eats and drinks and is also the area where you catch the tram to leave. The gift shop is located as you enter the park on the right side across from the line to catch the tram. Unfortunately, the price to enter the park is based on the type of vehicle entering the park and prices start at $20 and upward. I believe it is $20 for a sedan, $40 for SUV's. I highly suggest getting to Grant's Farm as early as possible because by 12 noon the lines to enter into the park and catch the tram can be an hour or more wait. And parking starts to get really crowded. I love that Grant's Farm offers fun experiences throughout the season, from October Fest to Halloween fun and more. I just went to the Grants Farm Christmas lights & it didn't disappoint! They have food for purchase to feed the goats & cows! My favorite part! You can also ride the carousel which is part of the experience when you buy your ticket for the lights! They had the Busch Estates open to walk by & lit up with Christmas lights making it beautiful! Not only can you walk your way through Grants farm for the lights but now you can get your Drive Through! Two separate tickets to purchase but it will not disappoint! This is a great place for kids. We spent about 2 hours here. If you buy your parking online you save $4. They also have a package you can buy to include all the activities. Meaning feeding the baby animals and riding a camel. I suggest seeing the Clydesdales first. Then go to the other side of the parking lot and cross the street where you will take about a 20 minute tram ride around the farm seeing a bunch of animals from different countries. Strollers are welcomed and they transport them for you. At the end of the ride you end up where all the baby animals are. It's like a small zoo. There is also a food court where you each get 2 free beers. It says samples but they are about 12 ounces. The food was delicious and decent prices. You exit through the food court to get back on the tram and head back to the parking lot. This is a cashless facility. And you don't have to buy the package to feed the animals. They have booths set up where you can pay for feedings. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Especially at the gate. read more

I grew up in St. Louis and have fond memories of Grant's farm so when I was traveling to St. Louis I wanted to share the magic with my 7 year old. We went on Wednesday and had bought everything in advance online. Parking $16, fun pass $10-gets the kidlet: a bomb pop, carousel ride and 2 goat bottles. I think the bottles individually were $2, the carousel ride $4 and no clue about the bomb pop as it is not something I would have bought. We got there right at open and got the tram. Took the ride to the park and saw a good amount of animals. We had an animal encounter tour at 10am ($26 per person) so we walked around and looked at the animals. There were goats, rabbits, tortoises, camels, water buffalo, yaks. Should have done the carousel ride and goats then but thought maybe they would start the tour early since we were the only 3 on it. No such luck. The employees stood around talking, watching us until exactly 10 am. The tour was cool. We got to see ferrets, rats, hedgehog, water buffalo, camel, yak, 2 tortistes, snake, skink up close. The staff would hold the animal and we could pet it. The water buffalo and yak were my favorite. They were such gentle giants. After the tour we waited in a line for the carousel (kidlet didn't want to do it). The loading of it was super slow and the people running it did not seem to do accurate counts to make sure it was as full as possible considering the long lines. Some of the animals were "broken" had trash bags over their heads and the lion doesn't go up and down. Parents are allowed to stand between horses if they want. Kids are required to use safety strap to stay on the animal. Last we did the goats. These goats are aggressive mofo's. They would jump on other goats to push them out of the way, rip bottles from kids hands, chew on clothes, invade your space. I keep having to knee the goats away from us. There were lots of kids crying. We walked through the stables near the exit but it was regular horses and not the Clydesdales. We managed to make it on the shuttle arriving. We had to witness an awkward encounter of a guest yelling at a staff. Thankfully ride to front was fast but there was another tram in the station and we had to wait. We walked across the parking lot to see the Clydesdales. There was one out front with a handler you could take photos with (not sure if it cost money). Overall a good trip but not the fond memories I have from childhood. Glad we did the animal encounter as that was a neat experience to have but found the other part of the park disappointing. read more

Don't skip Grant's Farm, it is great! The Clydesdales were super pretty. All of the history behind the Budweiser horses is really cool. The tram ride and the animals were all great too. Definitely targeted towards younger kids, but still fun for all ages. Farm is very affordable as well! As for food, make sure you get a pretzel! It is soft and buttery and not oversalted, and is easily the best pretzel I've ever had. Make sure you get here close to opening time, too. In the morning there was a 15 minute wait to get on the tram, but when we left there was a 1-2 hour line! Definitely prioritize going here first, because it fills up fast. It was such a nice weather yesterday so we went to Grant's Farm. My family loves going to Grant's Farm. We typically spent 2-3 hours here. General admission is free and parking pass was recommended to purchase ahead of time but we never had any issue with paying for parking at the gate ($20 a car). We arrived around 10:30am yesterday and parking was a breeze. Staffs here were always friendly and helpful. My favorite thing here was the tram ride through a deer park and FREE beers (2 for each adult), while my kid loved feeding/interacting with goats/parakeets/llama...They also had camel ride and carousel. Grant's farm is a cashless park and they also accepted Apple Pay. You can also purchase a Fun Pass in advance to save $2 which includes 1 carousel ride, 2 animal feedings and 1 frozen treat. We also grabbed brats, rib and a kid meal for lunch. Food here was decent and reasonable price. The line could be long sometime but it moved up quickly. They did a fantastic job at keeping the Bauernhof Courtyard cleaned. I saw staff walking around cleaning tables and put chairs back into places. They also had Private BTS tour, Clydesdale close up tour and animal encounters tour. Highly recommend to visit Grant's Farm if you're in town!!! read more

Visiting MO from Ohio, this place was awesome for our 2 kids (that we actually came twice). But there are a few things to note if visiting for first time. -Its free to enter, but you have to pay to park, its $17 online or $25 at door. -Free tram ride and its a nice 10 min or so ride through the property seeing all sorts of animals. -The Clydesdale horses are awesome, free to see but try to get you to pay for pictures with them. Note, they are on other side of parking lot, so plan accordingly where you park -Staff is super friendly -Everything is basically a la carte. Meaning, yes the animals are free to see, but if you want to ride a camel, feed a goat, use the carousel, etc itll cost you a fee. They push hard on the 'fun pass' (which we did the 1 day. For $12 you get 2 free goat feeds, carousel ride and a popsicle. They strategically place all giftshops at entrances, where you have to walk through. -The animal shows ever hr or so are pretty good! -At the end, parents can enjoy 2 full free beers are a variety of Budweiser products. The courtyard is pretty awesome! -Food was ok, pricey in courtyard, but was sufficient. -Friday and Saturdays they have live music in the courtyard starting after 6, band was really good and kept it clean for all the kids there. We chose Grant's Farm's Holiday Lights (walk through) as our Christmas light outing this year. Grant's Farm is my favorite St. Louis attraction, so this was high on the list. When you purchase tickets for the walk through, you must also purchase parking. Show your tickets at the parking lot entrance for entry. If you've been to the farm before, you know the drill: park and walk to the stop light to wait for the crossing guard to direct you across the street. Once you've crossed the street and the bridge, your tickets will be scanned again, and you'll get in line for the tram. Thankfully, the tram ride is only a couple of minutes long. (It was cold, so being in the open tram made for a more chilling experience. ) They drop you off at the Biergarten. You can explore the Biergarten. They have hot chocolate (regular and spiked) and other refreshments available there, and a small outside gift shop. Also, a few holiday entertainers were outside, which was fun while walking through. Santa and Mrs Claus were inside the carriage house, as well as a Clydesdale you could get a picture with and a few animals in the stalls. In the tiergarten, there were a few animals out: goats, sheep, alpacas, mini cows. Then you can walk up to the historic Busch home and see the outside. They have a long display of lights along the path. Only things I wish were different: hot chocolate was barely warm (which I get that it's difficult to keep a large quantity warm, but considering the price, it would have been preferred to be warmer), and I wish there would have been an option to feed the few animals that were out. Feeding the goats is an absolute life requirement! They are so cute! They nibble and I want to take one home. The grounds at Grant's farm are beautiful! The estate is overwhelming! Such a classic spot in St. Louis! Oh and don't forget to stop and see the majestic Clydesdales! They are beautiful! read more
