Built in 1936, the Jewel Box is a display greenhouse in Forest Park. We found parking on the street and paid a dollar admission. Inside are floral displays, a water feature & a 50-foot high main display area. It is a beautiful venue inside for weddings, there is a bride walking through with her caterer. The fountains, Lilly Ponds & statues in front are pretty special. There were many bees & colorful butterflies in the fragrant flowers.

Small green house but it offers an excellent place for people to visit and admire the beautiful landscape. There were two proposals we saw in the hour time period of our visit. Great place for wedding proposals! Also the person who collects the entrance fee $1 was very friendly.

Another Forest Park attraction. Kind of a botanical garden/event center with seasonal foral displays. Admission is only $1. There's not really any parking, but feel free to park along a nearby street. Not going to lie. I found this concept to be pretty cool and I probably enjoyed the visit here a little more than I should. We were there in St Louis during the off season. It was cold with a brisk wind. The temperature still dipping into the high 20s and low 30s. The warm radiating within these glass castle walls was a welcome retreat from the outside. https://www.stlouis-mo.gov/government/departments/parks/parks/Jewel-Box.cfm

I have been wanting to see this place for so long and I received an invitation to a wedding here. It was absolutely stunning and the plants were gorgeous. I'm not sure I would recommend coming here outside of an event because I thought there would be more plants to see, but there weren't.

I can finally mark it off my Bucket List. I attended a wedding at The Jewel Box. A wedding at the JB is very compact and romantic. The beauty of the plants and the historic greenhouse adds to the ambiance. The acoustics are surprisingly good, making it easy to hear the ceremony and the string quartet. At the beginning, it wasn't too warm in the box. However, as the ceremony progressed, I did start to feel the warmth of the greenhouse. In my opinion, the true beauty at The Jewel Box is the grounds that surround the vintage greenhouse. The manmade ponds, landscaping and sculptures are truly a beautiful sight. They are all maintained so well. It is why TJB is considered a true "jewel" of Forest Park. The only downside of having a wedding at The Jewel Box is the time limitations. They keep you on a very tight schedule. They only unlock the doors shortly before the ceremony for guest and when the service is over, it is hustle and bustle to get out.

I have an emerald cut diamond ring and think the Jewel Box is such a fitting venue!

I just got married in the Jewel Box on March 16, 2024 and it was a DREAM!! It was truly more perfect than I ever could have imagined. I got engaged in December 2023 and we knew we wanted a short engagement. Once confirming a date that worked with our family from out of town I started looking around for available venues. I called to see if the Jewel Box was available for March 16, 2024 and was surprised when she said "yes!" I asked how much for the ceremony and was told $1200, but if I reserved it before the end of 2023 they would give it to me for $1000. I quickly drove to the park office to give them a check and book it! Negatives: - Your rehearsal has to be on Thursday if you are getting married on a Saturday. This is due to the fact that they have events on Friday evenings. - You are only allowed 30 mins for your rehearsal. This was ROUGH. We only had time to do one run through and I was not feeling confident. It was stressful trying to go through everything with everyone in such a short amount of time. - They are very strict on the time window of your event, understandable though since there are typically multiple weddings/events in one day. Our time slot was 2:00-3:30. We had guests arrive at 2:00, ceremony started 2:30, pictures inside at 3:00, out by 3:30. We definitely made it work but having such a strict time window added a bit of stress. - No floral decorations can be used other than flowers for the bride and wedding party. This wasn't an issue for me because I looked at is "less money to spend and decorating needed" - The bridal suite is TINY (but you can also have your wedding party wait in the kitchen area that is connected to the bridal suite). - No AV equipment is provided, you must bring your own. Positives: - The venue is literally STUNNING. This alone outweighs all the negatives. - We did not need to decorate at all other than bring our own aisle runner. - The staff sets up your chairs for you. You let them know at the rehearsal how many people to expect and they will have it set up for you. - You can visit the venue whenever you want (during operating hours obviously). This was really nice because we went to the Jewel Box probably 4 different times for various reasons (test AV equipment, run through the song I would walk down the aisle to, show our family/friends, etc.) It's typically a dollar to visit but if you let them know you are getting married there they will let you keep your dollar ;)

If you're sightseeing in Forest Park and have time, The Jewel Box is worth seeing. It's a unique glass structure which serves as a greenhouse. For $1 you can go in the greenhouse and see a variety of plants. Unless you're a plant enthusiast of sorts, this will probably take all of 5 minutes but it IS worth doing.

The Jewel Box is a beautiful glass structure inside Forest Park. I checked out the visitor's center for the park and the staff member recommended walking to The Jewel Box as a point of interest. In the front is a pretty reflecting pond with floating lily pads and flowers. Inside are even more flowers, trees and plants. Even though it's a greenhouse, it felt nice and cool inside. Admission to Forest Park is free but $1 per person for The Jewel Box. I was a little underwhelmed by the space BUT I bet it's a gorgeous venue for a wedding or special event. For the average tourist visiting on a random day, it's just ok.

One of the cool outdoor areas in Forest Park is the Jewel Box, also known as the St. Louis Floral Conservatory. So cool that it is on St. Louis' Wikipedia page at the top. Maybe its because I have poor taste, since I'm not into flowers, gardening or the like - but it wasn't all that interesting. That's not to say that it's a cool-looking greenhouse. You pay $1 to get in and look around for a bit. I'd do it just to say you've been inside. They have a small balcony right above the entrance, to boost your view. Several people have gotten married there, as it is a fine place for a wedding - be it outdoor or inside the building. If you're doing it inside, there probably won't be much room. As one other reviewer pointed out, it is more entertaining outside the Jewel Box than it is inside. You'll know what I mean with the reflecting pool and all of everything surrounding it.

What a lovely little gem! (see what I did there?! I'm sorry... :-P) This sweet, fancy-greenhouse-looking building is in Forest Park (which might be my new favorite place). The free Muny parking lot is within easy walking distance of the Jewel Box, and free street parking is readily available. We visited on a hot Sunday, late morning, and there were plenty of people around but nothing felt crowded or cramped. The garden and pools in front of the Jewel Box provide a beautiful frame for the venue and a lovely place to sit and enjoy the beauty around you. We weren't sure if you could go inside, but it was open and we were able to explore. It costs $1 and, to be honest, I am not sure it is really worth it. It may look like a greenhouse, but it is filled with some greenery, but as an event space, it is mostly an open hall which may or may not be set up for a wedding ceremony. I am not mad that we paid a dollar to look around because I was genuinely interested. But it is most interesting seen from the outside. Also, the person manning the front desk wasn't there when we first went in, so we all just left our cash on the desk. I was wondering if it was on an honor system...but then he showed up as we were on our way out. If nothing else, that $1 WAS worth it to cool off for a few minutes, and there are restrooms available inside. It is a beautiful venue, inside and out. I am a little surprised there weren't any celebratory photo shoots happening (wedding/engagement/whatever) since it was a weekend....but as stated...it was so hot. So, so hot... I imagine this must be an amazing place to get married, and it is certainly worth a non-matrimonial visit if you happen to be in the area!

This is a cool venue/park located in Forest Park. There isn't a lot to say about The Jewel Box but it is a cool place. There is an outside(that's free) and the inside(which is $1). Outside: The outside is nice. Walk around the various plants, flowers, ponds, and statues. If you'd rather sit and admire all of those things, find a bench and sit down for a while. It was a hot day when we were there but I see this place as the perfect place to read a book. It's interesting to me because while it sits next to one of the busy roads of the park, I don't remember being distracted by any cars or noises while there. Inside: When entering you need to pay a dollar to walk around. It won't take you long to walk through this building. In my opinion, I like flowers more than plants and it seemed like there were more plants inside. If it is hot outside and you need a break from the sun and heat, one dollar is a small price worth paying for that break. There are also bathrooms inside if you need that. There were chairs in the middle of this structure and I heard a few walkers talking about visiting this place for weddings. I'm sure it's a wonderful place for a wedding. If you're in the St. Louis area and you find yourself in Forest Park, you should definitely stop in here to check it out.

What a wonderful place to have a wedding. So easy and beautiful. You show up during your time slot, have your ceremony and leave...no clean up and no hassle. Just make sure you stay within your time slot during your rehearsal because they will kindly ask you to leave if you go over. (that was our fault...we needed 45minutes, not 30minutes)

    Alexis B.

The building is beautiful, but there's really nothing in it anymore, because it's used more for weddings than for horticulture! Unlike many of the other attractions in Forest Park, the Jewel Box is not free and it costs $1 to enter. A friend and I paid to enter, we looked around for a couple of minutes and then left. It's a pretty structure, but there's not much to see!

But- parking... Brentwood Parks And Recreation needs to align with the city to help with signage for parking. The lot is not large enough (maybe 60 spaces not positive) to have two directions. Even with it being clear to many that the natural flow was counterclockwise, a few felt the need to go against the natural flow. Then the streets around the park were full causing the streets capable of only allowing for a single lane of traffic. Even with a clear flow and literally no room for cars traveling in opposite directions... some attempted to push in, causing longer stand stills. It's like trying to go to the zoo/forest park on the weekends. But the park itself is fun!!! I do wish there was more shaded areas within the park itself.
