Buyer beware. Absolutely worst company I've ever done business with. Purchased a $12000 K Mower Brian blew smoke up my ass told me I was getting what I ask for. Then I get the mower, it is not new, has 28 hours on it, also a 2023, and has the wrong engine on it. I spoke with Rich, he said to me, " There is zero chance you getting what you want, we are not helping you, and you are the worst type of customer anyone could ask for when I just gave you $12000. Plus, they up interest rate and getting kick back from the bank also very very wrong. I wish the owner would contact me, be we all know that will never happen. Was looking for an Ariens Pro 28 and I called a few places in MA. They either didn't have it or wanted delivery fees and really couldn't be bothered. Spending $2300 on a snowblower I expected a little customer service. So I borrowed a truck and drove to NH , saved the tax and Joe in sales was awesome. Very disappointed in a lack of response to multiple email requests for a simple replacement part for a Snowblower. Mind you, this is a part that I've purchased from Granz previously. I understand that things get busy during and after a storm but; ignorance of customer requests is a poor way of doing business. It's now been over a month since I first contacted Granz at parts@turfdepot.com and still crickets. If you WILL NOT help with small problems, what is the customer's confidence level in your ability to support them on major issues? Fortunately, there are smaller, individually owned shops nearby who are more willing to help and parts are readily available online. Picked up our mower on April 25. Needed repairs and annual maintenance. ELEVEN weeks later got it back because they couldn't locate one belt to complete the fix. Okay, that's fine. Don't buy from these guys. the lawnmower I got dropped off didn't work properly. I spoke with the general manager and he assured me "I'm sorry it's your fault you purchased a piece of equipment with a warranty not a guarantee. If you had a guarantee I could work with you". These mechanics broke the machine three times before delivery. That should have been a sign for me but I have lawns to mow and I'm out business. When my $14,000.00 lawn mower was stolen off their property in 2015, when it was in for service they we're still trying to make me pay for the engine that was being installed no joke. Even though this scumbag manager Ryan was saying I stole my own mower off the property to his workers and he was not looking at cameras on the property. This guy couldn't run a chicken coop nevermind a business...... Salem Police and my insurance took care of there mess and I got a insurance settlement for less value. 4 years later I bought a used Toro mower off a friend and I was pigeonholed into getting parts off of them. Guys at the counter were nice when I bought a bagging system, after that, I fell down in the Granz I don't give a F... rabbit hole. I made a big mistake by bringing my Walker up there for a stater. After 3 weeks of my walker sitting there I made a phone call to see if it was done, no one even looked at it. At the being of the following week Ryan called me and told me how backed up they are and they only have on walker mechanic. I said get it done what is the point of this phone call. Then 3 more weeks go by and I make another phone call. Let me speak to the manager he's not in today shocker. I get a call from this clown Ryan 4 days later and he was acting like I just brought the mower up there. I said get it done it's a stater. His response was he has 20 years in this business and can't just drop things to get it done. Hmmmm its been up there over 6 weeks you fool what reality are you in... Ahaaa?..great your a pathetic sack of potatoes. You can do a job for 20 years and still can't have an ounce of integrity, work ethic and accountability. So I go up to get my mower back. The man says at the counter "that's not going to happen it's covered in so much snow". BEWARE......They suck: They'll say your equipment will be looked at in a week - not even close. They say it takes 3-5 days to get parts.....I can get parts next day - why can't they? They ask you how much you want to spend - be prepared to pay 2-3 times that amount. You have to constantly call them for updates and get conflicting answers. My machine was finally fixed on a Wednesday (after 3 weeks) and they couldn't deliver until the following Tuesday because the "delivery people were on vacation"...... They repaired my Stihl blower "under warranty" without asking me, then told me the warranty was denied by Stihl and they charged me hundreds to get my machine back. Very poor service department. They picked up snowblower October 18th and here it is November 12th and I still don't have my snowblower back. They keep telling me it's ready, but no one seems to want to deliver it back to me. They showed up twice more after the 18th to pick up my blower when in fact they already had it. Plus they told me they'd call to talk about any parts they needed to change, but lo and behold they didn't and the $129.95 initial cost ballooned to $200 without my knowledge. Some day my snowblower will come home. Probably next summer when it's not needed. Please don't call Granz Turf Depot for pick-up, delivery, and service on any of your equipment. This is by far the WORST lawn equipment company ever founded. The service department is disorganized and has no concept of customer service. You make an appointment to have your equipment serviced, they take pick up and then forget about it. You call two weeks later to inquire and they have no idea what is going, what to do or even when it will be ready. You then ask them about the list of items and nothing gets done forcing them to pick the equipment back up and do it all over again. When you question the service manager on why something like this would happen, his explanation is - Sir, we are a very busy shop and we have won awards proving this. The employees who work there are no better and lack any form of intelligence to comprehend how to treat customers. The biggest mistake I ever made was purchasing my equipment from the company. Our snowblower needed emergency service since we are expecting a big storm tomorrow and it stopped working. I called Granz, where we purchased the blower, at 8:30 am and they scheduled it for pick up today. Around 11:30 their truck was at our home. But instead of just loading up the blower and taking it to the shop the fellow took a look at it. It was (to him) a simple fix. Just two broken shear pins. He showed me how to replace them in the future and saved me not only from an expensive and unnecessary repair, but eased my worry about having to shovel a foot of snow in tomorrow's storm. Don't bother calling this place even after you spent $1500 on a snowblower. I called the service department to try and get an idea about what I need to do regarding my electric start and the person who answers the phone is worthless. Usually when you call a service department a service manager who actually knows about service will answer the phone and engage you a little to help answer your questions but this place is all about just trying to get you in the door since all they ever say is I can't help you unless you bring it in. I dealt with Brian in customer because no manager was available on a Saturday morning. He took 10 minutes to finish a leisurely conversation while I stood waiting in front of him and it was not the first time. I explained that St John was devastated by hurricane Irma and I just got word via satellite telephone that friends had lost everything, their house was gone, their car was upside down on a house and their boat was in pieces. They were totally isolated by 8 miles of impassable mountain roads with nothing but the clothes on their back, no food, water, cell or internet. I wanted a new chainsaw to ship down air express without fuel or oil in it. He said Stihl corporate policy wouldn't allow him to do that. I said I'll buy the saw, once I own it you can dump the oil and gas out and I can ship it this morning. He refused and said he knew I wouldn't do it but I could sell it on the internet if he did that??? I said anyone could do that and he still refused. I showed him a picture from a helicopter of the devastation and said " I can't believe you can stand there and quote me F'n corporate policy while you look at this picture. He came around the counter, refused to sell me a saw and told me to leave the store. I own 2 local businesses and a corporation in the VI and I have never been refused service in any store ever. I did not insult him at any point and didn't ask for anything that he was not allowed or capable of doing. I went to a different store, explained what happened at Granz Equipment, they apologized, sold me a saw at a discount, met the corporate requirements and my needs. The delay caused me to miss the shipping deadline for Saturday, it left on Monday. Granz couldn't care less. There are no responses to any complaints and no one will reach out to me. They know who I am and that I was a regular customer for many years. I bought a commercial lawnmower, snow blower, 2 weed wackers and a chain saw on a previous occasion. Their customer service is pitiful, the attitude of most of the employees is they hate every minute they are there in a dead end job. I think Brian needs a new job and no contact with the public sector. I deal with customer problems on a regular basis and never had a situation I couldn't work out. Granz will not improve until they make some sort of effort, the owners and managers are totally apathetic about the image they portray. read more

June 23, 2017 I brought a new handheld ECHO Blower on April 13, 2017 at another Power Equipment Establishment. Granz is an authorized ECHO Dealer so I brought to Granz for service. The gentleman at the Service Desk asked if he could help me. I showed him two lawn mower blades I wanted to get sharpened and my almost new blower. Before I could say anything he told me it was cheaper to buy a new blower vs repairing the one I had in my hands. Then he insisted I show a receipt, he thought I purchased it at the Home Depot. I tried to explain that it has never run properly and that I use the ETHANOL FREE pre-mixed fuel. He told me that if it was a fuel issue that the manufacturer would not cover a repair under warranty. It was almost two months old with almost no hours, it looks and smells new. He was a know it all and had no intention of trying to help me. They are a certified ECHO Sales and Service Dealer. Avoid this place. Had these guys tune and replace belts on my Ariens Snowblower. Went from starting in one pull for 20+ years to 6-7 pulls. Adjusted the carb myself and got it back to one pull. One of the belts they replaced broke after about 10 storms. Some how the original belts did not break after 20+ years...weird huh? Here's why: I ordered OEM belts and decided to replace them myself. The OEM belts were much much more rugged than the crap after market belts they used, I was shocked...Net is if you want very expensive service with crap parts these guys are for you. never again!! read more

Both times the sales person took time to explain my choices and to give me information to make a sound choice. Took them 2 weeks to replace a belt on a BRAND NEW Ariens riding mower? 2 weeks? I think not. The sales people here are kind and helpful, but the manager explained to me that it was actually my fault for not checking the model number of the item with a clearly marked price to make sure it matched the label on the wall right next to it. I noticed on the way out I was charged almost half again as much as the price on the wall. To be clear, it was the exact product on the label, just a different model number. He then claimed that I would receive the same treatment at any store. This is not the first time something like this has happened to me at a store, but it is the first time a store has claimed it was my fault rather than apologizing for mislabeling. Granz Power Equipment is probably one of the most service oriented companies I have ever had the pleasure of working with. They are first class and I would HIGHLY recommend them. I had purchased a zero turn lawn-mower two summers ago. I had been experiencing a situation where randomly the mower would just shut down from time to time. Rich (General Manager) was so determined to identify the issue, he sent one of his top service technicians (Scott) to my home in MA to see the problem occur first hand and try to get a better grasp of exactly what was occurring. Both Rich and Scott kept me updated throughout the entire process and cold not have been more professional. They where determined (no matter what the cost) to fix the issue. Based on my experience, I have a very tough time believing the validity of some of the other reviews which are negative in nature. These guys are A+ across the board. read more

I bought my Toro snow blower here several years ago and have had it tuned up fairly regularly every 1-2 years depending on how much use it got the previous winter. I would usually take advantage of an early bird tuneup special and get the blower serviced in October or early November so it would be ready for winter. This year, I stopped by in person in October and they told me they weren't taking in snow blowers yet. I found this kind of odd since I've dropped it off in the past around this time but they took my information and said they would call back. I checked in again around late November and again was told they we would call me when they could schedule the service. The service rep Dawn called on December 19th, after we already had a storm with 6" of snow. I scheduled the pick up for December 20th and left the snow blower out in my driveway but they never showed up to pick it up. I called back and asked why it wasn't picked up and they told me I never spoke to them to confirm the pick up. I informed them I talked to Dawn directly on the phone and did indeed confirm the pickup - how she didn't remember this conversation from a day ago is beyond me? Just admit you made a mistake and don't try to blame the customer! I canceled the service since more snow was on the way and I would be needing the snow blower. Last time I ever do business with them again. Just check out the other negative reviews here on Yelp to see I am not alone in my poor customer service experience. They don't stand by there service. Brought my old toro lawnmower to them to service it, go through everything and make it as like new as possible. And they did even thou it took a long time. So they put in some new parts (including a new battery). Ran great for that rest of the summer. Put it away for the winter. Got it out to this summer. Try to start it up, battery was dead, so charged it up. But it would not hold the charge. Called granz where I had just had it serviced and told them the new battery you just put in less than a year ago was no good and they wouldn't warranty the battery or the service of it. I was strongly considering a Stihl chain saw and these guys are the closes dealers. My very bad experience was about 5 years ago with my brand new Ariens snowblower. It was leaking oil after being run so I dropped it off after an early November storm . They kept it two months and could not find the leak, they even tried to charge me an hours labor which I refused to pay. I started the machine in front of the service person, let it run, shut if off and there was oil leaking. You would think they'd have quickly fixed it but you would be wrong. They had to order the seal, it was another 4 weeks to change a seal and I've never been back, I actually thought that experience was an outlier but reading these reviews confirms this is quite typical. Stupidly I was heading up this afternoon to buy a $500 chain saw sale - no way after these reviews. Thank you for your candor and sharing your more current customer experiences. read more
