We sat on the patio and had a really nice time and appreciated how attentive and helpful our waiter was. I mentioned an allergy and he went out of his way to ensure what I ordered was safe for me to eat. We split the gumbo, mussels, and the seafood gnocchi. My favorite was the seafood gnocchi, they were pillowy soft and the sauce was a 10/10! The broth of the mussels was flavorful but I have never seen such small mussels before, the actual mussel was about tie size of a corn kernel - which made them unappealing. The gumbo was ok but just not my thing, but I think it was traditional for those who enjoy a gumbo.

The vibes here are absolutely immaculate. If you're going for a family dinner or a date OR you just…read morewant to sit at the bar and eat good food, this is the place to do it. As far as the fare - I thought the food was good, but not the best thing I've ever had. I think it's a great place to go if you want tried and true yummy food but it's not somewhere that you'll be wowed by every dish. The mocktails and cocktails were gorgeous and tasty. The appetizers were great - I really enjoyed the crab cakes as the flavor and sauce were good, I just wished the crust wasn't so heavy on the outside. The shrimp was delicious! The jambalaya had good flavor but I wished there was more rice and that the rice wasn't mixed in already at the start. There was cold potato salad on top which I enjoyed but some at our table didn't. For entrees we got the shrimp etouffe which I didn't try but looked tasty. The steak frites were great! Steak was cooked well and the fries were the highlight of the meal! They know how to make and season a shoestring fry. The sauce on the side was also tasty. The stroganoff was good - short rib was delicious but the dish as a whole was just didn't wow me though it was tasty. The meatloaf was again good but not great. If you're a big fan of meatloaf I think you'll really enjoy it! The beignets were the winner for me! Hot, light and fluffy. Covered in powdered sugar! Overall it was a great time at Mr Paul's! Service was great, vibes were awesome, and food was definitely good! The food just didn't wow me in comparison to so many other restaurants around. Would I come back though? Probably if I was looking for something in the 50th and France area.

My husband likes getting a variety of tacos - al pastor, barbacoa, shrimp, or carnitas. My favorite is the rajas bowl - tasty cactus, peppers, black beans, lettuce, and pico. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is the wild inconsistency in these bowls. I've had it over 10 times and you never really know what you're going to get. Sometimes it has avocado, sometimes rice or beans, sometimes lettuce is soggy on the bottom but sometimes sprinkled on top, sometimes hominy, one time they even added refried beans. It's totally dealer's choice of whoever happens to be assembling it in the kitchen on any given day. Nevertheless, I'll keep coming back!

The crispy chicken and wet taco were phenomenal, 10/10 and I will absolutely come back for more! The chips and queso were decent, could've been a bit more salty for the chips. The parking is of course always a zoo in this area, but oh well. Our only comment is that you don't get much for the price, 3 tacos left my fiancé wanting a fourth to get full (which would be $20+ for one meal). Well def get this as a snacky or appetizer again:)
