Came for dinner with friends We had a great server who was very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu My steak was cooked perfectly, I had the Cajun shoestring fries which were fine My wife had the Halibut which she said was good but not showstopping for the price point (over $40) The cocktails are excellent too The banana foster creme brûlée is a must for dessert Sometimes this place can be pretty loud to hold a conversation but we were in the back part of the restaurant which wasn't as noisy Parking is available in the free parking garage across the street

This was on the Happy Hour Bar menu!

If you're expecting a Wisconsin supper club experience, turn back. Mr. Paul's is down-to-earth sophistication, echoing New York or Los Angeles, but without the attitude. My partner and I stopped in after some worthwhile shopping in downtown Edina. Mr. Paul's is huge, with three bars and a patio. However, the design team ensured intimacy, and diners never feel they're in a cavernous space. We grabbed two chairs at the first bar we saw, and settled in to be taken care of by the charming Dante. He might have the same name as Signore Alighieri, but this Dante has more to do with the heights, rather than the depths. Mr. Paul's Dante is the consummate bartender, server, and spokesperson for Tommy Begnaud, the owner/chef of Mr. Paul's. He also owns Mothership Pizza. New Orleans-inspired, Mr. Paul's menu has all your favorites. We stuck with the happy-hour bar menu since it was 5:00 PM on a Friday. By the way, the joint was jumpin, with tons of people enjoying themselves. Our hamburger and chicken sandwich were large and delicious. We added a few Pimms cocktails, and life was good. Both of us were in Heaven, thanks to Mr. Paul's and Dante's protagonist at the bar. We will return to Mr. Paul's Supper Club with reckless alacrity. It's another great Minneapolis spot.

I've been here for both brunch and dinner, and overall, I'm a fan. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, conveniently located, and offers plenty of parking, which makes the experience seamless. This place offers large seating booth that are very comfortable, which makes this a perfect spot for groups, and the fact that they take reservations is a big plus for me since I can't stand waiting for a table. The food is very good, maybe not the absolute best in town, but definitely solid quality food, especially if you're after an upscale experience at a reasonable price point. My only real complaint is the limited menu; there were a few dishes I expected to see for both brunch and dinner that just weren't offered.

We visited Sunday night for our date night. We did not have a reservation but we got seated right away. We started off with the Nola Paloma and the Mr. Paul Sazerac to drink. Loved the Paloma it was so tasty. Next our appetizers blew us away. The grilled oysters and the meatballs with the cheese curds. The meatballs were a little spicy but not too overwhelming. For our entrees we got the lobster gnocchi and the double cut pork chop. The gnocchi was perfectly soft with decent portions of lobster. We did not like the Brussels sprouts because of the hot sauce or the Mac n cheese because it was a bit bland. Wonderful service and ambient lighting.

Came back and had a much better experience. There is a new menu and it was terrific! Also, a round of applause to our server who handled our group of 10 with friendliness and patience for our multiple substitutions and special requests. The Jackson Square cocktail was the star of the show and the only thing I managed to photograph. But so beautiful that it deserved its own portrait. (Earl Giles Gin, Grapefruit, Lime, Sparkling Wine, Basil & Paprika Oils) My seared salmon entree was perfection! Served with Poblano Bisque, Corn & Beet Relish, Chive. I'd honestly be interested in a whole bowl of the poblano bisque if it were offered. A great compliment to the salmon which was super tasty. Others in the family enjoyed steak, lobster gnocchi, roasted chicken, and scallops. Looking forward to another visit.

Our friends are regulars here, so when we had to decide on a spot for a birthday dinner, this was the place! Parking in the 50th and France area can be a bit stressful, but there's spots if you look hard enough ;) The interior of Mr Pauls is the perfect blend of approachable yet elevated and luxurious! Big, modern booths with eclectic and gorgeous light fixtures, and many a detail that didn't go overlooked make this the perfect spot for a special gathering. We had a reservation and were sat right away! Our server was responsive and engaged, and when the entrees got turned around in the kitchen, she made sure we got some complimentary snacks to hold us over! The Creole/Southern fusion cuisine is some of the better that I've had in the Cities! We started out with the Cornbread, which was a lovely kick-off to our meal! I had the Etouffee, which had plenty of shrimp, sausage, and rice to keep me coming back for another bite! We finished the meal with some cheesecake, which was delectable and rich! Mr Paul's is a great spot for your next celebration or date night! We will definitely be back!

    Easter Brunch buffet

Went to the Easter buffet since I could walk (waddle) back home afterwards. The overall experience is the standard "fancy" affair where the wait staff gets everything for you; including cracking pepper on your plate. I'm not a big fan of that since it feels overbearing but I get how some people like the "white glove" aspect. That said, everyone was extremely nice and the setup was efficient. The prime rib was far and away the star of the show. Not smoked, perfectly rendered, juicy, and just charred enough. Biscuits were also fantastic and the eggs not too rubbery. Outside of that it was mostly "ok". The etouffee was mainly broth with just a few pieces of baby shrimp. The cold bar was Sysco lox, cheese, crackers, and fruit. Desserts were also Sysco packaged bars and danishes. The main draw were the beignets but I wish there was a jam to dip them in. Overall it was good but unless you're eating a ton of prime rib maybe not worth $50.

So good! Unique dishes and drinks! Love the Cajun inspired food. We are from New Orleans and we did approve. . I got the Pims cup drink, which was really good and not too sweet. My husband got the king cake punch.

Amazing place for a dinner date with friends. Beautiful place with yummy food and great friendly service. My friends and I decided to try this place for a girls night out. It's a little on the pricey side but well worth it in my opinion. Everything we tried was delicious. We started off with stuffed mushrooms. Perfect way to start the night. For entrées both of my friend's got the Lobster Gnocchi, which was delicious. The Gnocchi was so fluffy and airy and just melts in your mouth. It's a must try. I got the Scallops with Pork Belly, coconut white grits with fresh Thai Basil, cilantro and coconut-chili crunch. The Scallops were cooked perfectly and the flavors were perfect all together. We couldn't leave without getting desserts. We all wanted something different so ended up getting the Beignets, Tres Leche cake and Cheesecake. We all enjoyed our desserts. It was the perfect way to end our night. We had a great experience and we will be back for sure.

We had the absolute best dinner on a Wednesday night. We were celebrating my boyfriend's birthday and we received the best service. The restaurant has dark decor and has candles throughout. It's was a good vibe for date night. You would think because the restaurant was slow when we got there and not a busy night that the experience wouldn't be the best, but it was! As soon as we sat down they gave us a gift card for our next visit to thank us for us coming in to celebrate his birthday. We both ordered an old fashioned and the frog legs for an appetizer. It was our first time having frog legs and let me just say I was blown away! They were so tender and spicy- tasted like chicken. I would solely go back just for the frog legs! The frog legs took awhile to cook so they gave us an appetizer on the house- the shrimp which was very good too. For the entrees- the steak, potatoes, and lobster were all cooked to perfection. We ended the night with a dessert drink they also gave to us on the house and some cheesecake. Our waiter Will was so attentive and ended up knowing who my boyfriend was from the gym. Although it was slow and were the last ones in the restaurant he did not rush us to leave but encouraged us to have a great time because they were not closed yet. I appreciated that so much because that is a huge pet peeve of mine. We will be back!

I went to try Mr Paul's Supper Club for the first time during the 50th and France restaurant week and it was okay. The vibes and the ambiance was phenomenal! So swanky and chic. The server was super kind and attentive. Food came out pretty quickly! The food was a bit disappointing, especially for the price! Appetizer - Gumbo: it lacked a lot of flavor and felt watered down (it was also super watery). I wish it had more flavor! 2/5 Entree - Étouffée: pretty good! Generous portions of shrimp and had more flavor! 4/5 Dessert - Beignets: great! So light and fluffy and the chocolate sauce was a plus! Overall, didn't LOVE this place so not sure I'll be back.. but loved the location, free parking and the interior of this place!

Love Mr. Paul's! I've come here twice now, once for happy hour at the bar, and once for dinner outside and both times everything was fantastic. I had the chicken sandwich and fries at happy hour, and the Brussels sprouts and mac and cheese the second time on the patio. The chicken sandwich and Mac and cheese were my favorites. Delicious, comforting food full of flavor. The service was excellent both times. The bar tenders were attentive and our server was very kind to answer questions and give recommendations. The overall ambiance is great wherever you sit and the patio was nice and shaded from the hot sun. Definitely will be returning for a date night soon. Also free ramp parking across the street!

Nightingale was packed, but fortunately, once two patrons saw my face from the bar, they quickly paid their bill and left. My face often compels people to vacate crowded establishments in Minneapolis, and we often find seats. After grabbing the two seats, we ordered wine and a wonderful Amaro-based cocktail. Jules was our bartender/server, and although he was crazy busy, he found time to be gracious to us. We ordered the meatball appetizer, halibut, and the Nightingale hamburger. My halibut was sublime, cooked perfectly, and it wasn't drowned in sauce. Bravo! The meatballs were tender and delicious, but the hamburger was not memorable. It was good, not great. Despite all the accolades above, when the bill came, I was charged two dollars after requesting a cucumber slice for my Pimms Cup. Perhaps the source of this pettiness came from the kitchen, but it wasn't smart, because the $2.00 charge placed a shroud over my experience. The bill was $125, and because of the petty two-buck charge, I only left a $25 tip. I was going to leave a $30 tip. I will sadly remember those 2 bucks forever. It was a myopic move and a passive-aggressive way to handle my request. In my birthplace home of NYC, a bartender would have said, "Getting a cucumber slice is a pain in the rear, would you mind skipping it?" My response, "Sure, it's not a big deal."

The mushroom bruschetta similarly underwhelmed - it felt like it was missing something to make it stand out. The bright spot? The drinks were solid and well-crafted. I wanted to rate this higher based on the atmosphere and service alone, but at the end of the day, the food has to deliver. With so many great options in Minneapolis, Nightingale needs to step up its culinary game to match its lovely setting. I'd consider returning for drinks, but probably not for dinner.
