I prefer the Bushos and the Shrubos to the Grassos, but this is good too. This is a sleepy little rainy gas station in Providence which is open late, which I appreciated. Yes it's roughly the average price for the area, but it's very convenient and it helped me out when I needed gas. I would definitely use it again for sure, but I have no idea idea about the autoservicing aspect. read more

I'd give Grasso's ZERO stars if I could. I called GEICO for Roadside Assistance and this is the company they sent. I was supposed to have my car towed Sunday at 4:15pm. 4:15pm came and went without Grasso's arrival. I direct called them and was told that they had just gotten 5 calls from GEICO and they were trying to take care of everyone and I was next in queue. NO ONE CAME. I had to call GEICO Roadside Assistance and inform them that the company was a no show. I was able to schedule them to come out the next day -- Monday. The young man that came to tow my car was polite, but I had to tell him to be careful with driving my car onto the tow truck bed. The car was basically on the rims. His statement to me? Whatever's damaged is already damaged. Yeah like I need more damage to my car. NEVER AGAIN!! Oh and did I mention, he was late?!? No thanks Grasso's. read more

I would give Grasso's a zero if possible. Geico really needs to take them off of their list of affiliated service centers because they are just the rudest. During a particularly stressful situation where our car was wrecked in a hit and run, we were directed by Geico to Grasso's for a Sunday tow. When we called to ask Grasso's a few questions we were told they would not tow our car because they were not taking any motor club calls. Umm, you tow cars guys, get it together and do your jobs. Before I could ask a follow up question I was hung up on. Called back and the woman who answered just said "YUP" and then *click*, nothing. After being hung up on several times we called Geico to advise them to remove Grasso's, they're bad for business, and if you are stranded and need a tow you should 100% look elsewhere. read more

Truly the epitome of a place that will take you for all you're worth, especially if you're a woman who is alone and doesn't know about cars. I was told that I needed all of my swaybar links and bushings replaced when what I actually needed was a rear lower control arm. Not sure if they heard the clunk and assumed that it was the sway bars, but they obviously didn't actually LOOK at the problem. I told them the code that I pulled off my car and asked how much it would cost to fix the issue . The pulled the same code, charged me 75 dollars to tell me what I already knew, and then quoted me wayyyyy over market value for the job. Lastly, they replaced my brakes and rotors and didn't properly grease anything when putting everything back into place so I had to deal with seized hardware when I did the job the next time around. read more

I have read all the reviews and have to share that my experience with Grasso was exceptional today. I was told by the office when the tow truck would arrive and it arrived right on time. The driver, Mark, was pleasant and respectful. My car would no start and he did everything he could to get it running. Including lying on the ground to get underneath my vehicle. Unfortunately, the car just wouldn't start. Also, my car was parked in a lot with minimal space to navigate a big tow truck. Well, I was amazed, he was a pro, he drove that big truck like he was driving a compact vehicle. In one shot he backed up the tow truck to my car and it was on the lift in minutes. Needless to say, his competency made all the difference in my experience. What a sense of relief knowing my car was in good hands and on the way to the dealership for repair. Today is the first time I used Grasso's for a tow job. My steering wheel locked; could not turn the key, resulting in my front wheels locking as well. The first towing co. that came out said they couldn't do it. Dave Carlson was the gentleman who serviced us through Grasso's. He placed sliders under the front wheels, and whoosh, my car was on the truck and headed to the shop. I would highly recommend Grasso's and you will be lucky to have Mr. Carlson attend to your vehicle. read more

Hahaha with all these other reviews I'm not suddenly not surprised with my experience with them. I haven't even had any services by then, however I was ran off the road by one of their tow trucks in east providence. The driver was driving so aggressively he completely cut off over 5 cars, swerving in and out of traffic during 5pm rush hour. Multiple cars had to swerve out of his way and come to a stop. (He drove on the curb to go around cars just to cut them off) So I called company and whoever answered the phone was very polite. I had been driving behind him for 10 minutes when he cut off a school bus on the Henderson highway and the bus had to serve out of his way. I was shaking because he was driving so erratically. Mind you the roads are slippery because it's been raining all day. I don't recommend trusting your car to be towed by them read more

The office called me twice to be sure of my location and update me on arrival time, the woman I spoke to was very kind and helpful. The young man who towed my car was so nice and such a gentleman! This place sucks. I have absolutely nothing good to say about it. My car was totaled in an accident, and my insurance company had these lowlifes tow it from the scene. Once the inspection deemed the car totaled, I needed to get my plates off. Luckily I took all my personal belongings out of the car at the scene (I have serious reservations as to whether any of it would have still been there had I not). The insurance adjuster told me to head over to Grasso's and I could get my plates and be on my merry little way. HA! I went with a friend one morning before work and it was a nightmare. They run a gas station as well as the shop. I first went to the gas station and was told I had to go to the shop to get permission to go into the lot. I had to walk to the shop, which was a pit and reeked, and the lady working "reception" was a jerk to say the least. She treated me like a criminal (apparently most of their work is towing for the city), and there wasn't much improvement once I indicated my car had been towed by the insurance company. The kicker was that my plates were actually still on my car, and "there was no one around to take off my plates" (which was a crock of BS as there were plenty of employees milling about), so she basically told me that she'd call up to the gas station so I'd be allowed in the lot and then I could attempt to get the plates off myself. I went back to the lot (gotta love all this walking in the freezing cold in a pretty dodgy part of Providence) and got the keys to the lot and a crappy screwdriver. What do you know? There was no way me or my friend were getting the plates off. It was freezing outside, so we headed back to the gas station to deal with the gem of an employee who worked there. I was told to come back later because they'd have someone take the plates off. I came back later, and surprise, surprise, the plates weren't off. I called the insurance adjuster who told me he had to jump through hoops to even inspect the car. After making a scene (and waiting for about 45 minutes), someone finally took my plates off and had the audacity to tell me as he handed them to me, "You would have never gotten these off!" No $%&, Sherlock. It's a pretty sad commentary when dealing with the tow company is the lowest part of the insurance claim process. Awful, awful, awful! If your insurance company attempts to have this miserable company tow your car, just say no! I made sure mine understood that they should probably remove them from their list. read more

DON'T GO HERE,! DON'T GO HERE ! DON'T GO HERE ! My car broke down in the middle of moving so Grasso's garage towed it in. Within a few hours I got a call that it needed a sensor and the estimate was around 300.oo I went down and talk to the owner and counter lady and they both suggested I replace two other sensors and they'd only charge me for parts since my car was already in the lift. The woman wrote in a estimate receipt "Don't make it Pricey" ! When I returned the next day the work was done and I was handed a bill of 1200.oo !!! I asked them about the estimated cost which they didn't remember. Then they tell me THEY ONLY TAKE CASH. I called the police ! The police showed up and said it was a civil matter and I had to pay them to them to get my car back and I could sue them in court. If I didn't pay them they could start charging me for storage on my car. I WAS SCREWED. After paying I got into my car and found the estimate we had talked about before the work had been done. I drove to the courthouse and filed a complaint that I was suing them. When the court date came I explained everything to the judge. I showed the written estimate and had other estimates from other garages on the the work that was done. The judge agreed with me and ordered Grasso's to give me a full refund. I've yet to see a dime from them and when I call they say they're NEVER going to PAY ME and to try and get the money. An expensive lesson hopefully others can learn from before dealing with them read more

After having our car reviewed by a mechanic and an insurance adjuster it has been determined that when Grasso's Towing Service took my car off the flat bed they dropped it (nose first) into a snow bank. Doing this punctured my radiator and caused damage to the front in of my car. Yesterday I had to pay $900 to get my car repaired. I called the owner again. The young man who answered the phone told me the owner Richard had died and he could help me. I calmly told him the situation on the phone and he told me he was not going to take responsibility. I asked him who he was was and he said his name was Richard (maybe a Jr.?) . I don't want to sue anyone. However, they need to take responsibility for their mistake. I have been told to make an insurance claim or hire an attorney. It would be nice if they owner would just discuss it with me. Very disappointing! read more

The only good part about this whole operation is the man they got working third shift. They should let him train the rest of the help. I have gone there a few times durning the day and in the morning. The people they have working those hours seem to take thier job way to seriously. When I went there on third shift I was surprised by the help I received. If more customers service people would do thier job like this man did I would enjoy shopping more. I wanted a soda, gas and a pack of cigarettes I was five cents short this man just smiled and said it is all good have a nice day. Any other place would have made me walk back to my car and look for five cents. read more
