Trying to find a quick, non-fast food options around KC's airport is difficult. I don't understand…read morewhy there isn't just a strip center nearby of restaurants since choices are extremely limited inside the airport. It started raining last week as I was driving to the airport, and I just didn't feel like getting fast food. I resigned myself to getting something in the airport, as limited as the options may be. I saw a sign near the United check-in counter for this place, so I decided to give it a try. They don't serve root beer, so I just had water to drink. I ordered the chicken noodle soup and pepperoni and mushroom flatbread. I was pleasantly surprised at the chicken noodle soup, the soup of the day. Usually airport restaurants make this soup too salty, but the amount of sodium was just right. It wasn't too salty, and it wasn't too bland. In fact, it was actually delicious. The broth was the right consistency (not too gloopy and not too watery), and the noodles and chicken were pretty solid. I would've give this place four stars alone based on that soup. Unfortunately, the flatbread fell short. Frankly, I feel like restaurants call this "flatbread" just so they can charge more. This is really pizza. The dough was mediocre, the pepperoni was store-bought, and the mushrooms were okay. This pizza was a bit bland and fell into the category of your typical airport food. My soup was ready about 5 minutes after ordering, and the pizza was ready about 10 minutes after ordering (was still finishing the soup). These items cost $20.94, including tax, but pre-tip. I would probably eat here again just because of the convenience!

While the hotel leaves much to be desired, KC Tap & Table their captive kitchen actually has something going on. They have a legit mixologist on duty at the right time, and a curated menu that hits most of the right notes. With a glass rear wall overlooking Berlin Reservoir, outdoor seating and room for breakfast, the space is comfortable and spare enough for private conversation. Service is also light, so there is a wait between seating, ordering and delivery. Despite that, what you see on the interesting menu is worth the time invested. I had their Ultimate Grilled Cheese Sandwich with Sweet Potato Fries. It may have been the best grilled cheese I had ever eaten in a restaurant (my homemade version is still my favorite). This baby is actually an inverted griller. The cheese is melted on the outside of the multigrain, with delicious sautéed onion bits and spices within. Each bite was a crisp cleave with lovely crunch from first to last. The fries were also crisp and tasty. Looking around the bar where I was stationed, the other folks also had good looking plates to consume. Everyone seemed relaxed and satisfied. Conversation was likewise friendly and interesting. Tap & Table does it right.

Update time - It…read morehelps if you have presold tickets and also if you arrive early. Premium seats are the closest to the stage, but otherwise tables are sat first come first serve and you'll have a chance at a better seat if you arrive early. Also - most of the tables are four tops, so don't be surprised if you're sat with another couple or group. Food and beverages are available. They're priced at nightclub type prices. I didn't indulge, but what was served looked good and I didn't see anybody close to me complaining. The comedians are type notch. So is the sound and lighting. The easiest parking is 1.5 blocks to the West of the Club next to the Indian Restaurant. The club has a full dinner menu with wide range of options. There is also a full bar and specialty cocktail menu. We arrived about an hour before the show and over half the audience was already seated. They charge for water ( Bottled Only ), they charge gratuity on the food and drink. It's very obvious. Our server Michela was awesome. She was attentive and coursed out our appetizer and entrees. I ordered iced tea ( tasted fresh brewed! ) and my friend has 2 Strawberry Drops, no sugar. Fried Pickles were great, my Reuben was delicious and my friend couldn't finish his Fried sweet chili chicken sandwich. I regret not ordering dessert, but i was just so full. The tables are close, but it's a venue, so space is money. We booked VIP so we would have a better view. The GA tickets aren't bad, they will just be off to the side or up on the second or third tier. For our show it was straight through without an intermission. After the show we skipped the bathroom line.
