The delicious lunchroom Mac & Cheese.
    David H.

My wife and I have been coming here for many years. We drive the 55 miles here drooling all the way. We have never had a bad meal here. We absolutely love the variety of soups and Mac & cheese choices. And for dessert they always have a wide variety of cookies, muffins and scones. No prepackaged stuff here, everything handmade from scratch. To top it off it is all made with healthy, natural ingredients. I am a true carnivore, but here I truely do not even miss the meat. This is our favorite restaurant in Lincoln.

All I can say is, I wanna live here! My friend had been mentioning this place to me for the longest and I finally went. I was totally mind blown by all the awesome decorations and even the potato heads on the ceiling were pretty dopetastic (word of the day! I have never seen a unique place like this before. Food: At first I couldn't find the menu, but my friend pointed out at the colorful flyers near the cash register. They have Moroccan Tomato Soup, Chipotle Potato Soup, Soul of Zorba Mac and Cheese, Chipotle Mac and Cheese, Italian Stuffed and baked Polenta, and Indian red lentil soup to name a few. I got to try the Baby Bella Mac and Cheese, it was really gooood! It had mushrooms, Gouda cheese, bread crumbs, thyme.. you just have to try it. They also have cookies and cheese bread which I heard were must haves. This place is cash and check only, so no plastic. The Bathroom is definitely a must see. So many posters, old magazines, toys, a leopard mirror, so many cool things. if you're ever in Lincoln, make your way to Grateful Bread, it's something to be grateful for!

Quality comfort food. I've only been here twice. The first time was about 4 years ago when I stopped in and had a cinnamon scone. From what I can remember, very good. Last weekend I went back with my boyfriend and had the best Mac & Cheese I've ever had in my life. In. My. Life. Try the chipotle macaroni - it's warm & gooey with yummy crunchy bready bits and a kick of chipotle pepper. The serving was generous enough that it lasted me for 2 meals. We split a delicious cheese scone, and I tried a bite of his curried vegetable soup. All very good on a snowy day. The atmosphere is hippie-kitschy fun - old photos and funky knick-knacks. They use a record player, too. It goes well with comfort food. Boo for cash or check only. (Note: I've only been here for one real meal, and I've heard they keep irregular hours, so that's why I'm only giving it 3 stars for now.)

My first time here and everything was phenomenal! Between everyone in my family we had almost one of everything on the menu and each thing I tasted blew my mind. On top of that the owner was so kind an courteous. Next time I'm in the area I WILL be back.

Best cookies in town! Great soup, mac and cheese and scones too. Bring cash as they do not accept cards. Vegetarian and vegan food.

Owners are super cool & you can usually find them stopping by tables to chat with customers & make sure they are enjoying their meals. On weekends they usually have live music playing which is really fun & makes the experience that much more enjoyable. Now on to the food: everything we have ever tried here has been fantastic. I usually get the hot chicken on a waffle which comes with 2 sides. Highly recommend the Mac n cheese, red beans & rice, or fried okra. As entrees I have also tried the shrimp & grits, fried eggplant, steak tips & the meatloaf (my dad is 73 & says it's the best meatloaf he's ever had his entire life). Honestly you can't go wrong with anything on the menu here! Highly recommend checking this place out if you haven't already

We got a seat within 15 minutes. The place is nice and cosy and clean with a variety of seating. It's small but cosy Hubby and I both ordered blackthorn soda. We ordered fried okra as appetisers , then i ordered shrimp grit with a side of cornbread and he ordered chicken tenders with waffles. Food was hot and delicious. Everything was delicious. Corn bread was a little dry. But they had drizzled it with honey. Overall we will definitely return!

I took a bite and I tell you this was ABSOLUTE PERFECTION. Seasoned and cooked flawlessly. No need for any lettuce leaf or sauce. I also loved the fried okra; my husband's fried pickles might have been the best I have had, and his yams were out of this world. I couldn't even manage to sneak any of his fried catfish though I think he would have shared if I asked. For the record, I didn't offer him any of my grilled catfish. Staff were friendly and professional. Good music on the video jukebox. Everything clean and comfortable. This was our first time in; we will definitely be back soon!
