Well, any place that serves smoked meats and plays Teddy Pendergrass deserves five-stars in my book. But in all seriousness, just the smoke taste on my turkey sandwich was food for the soul. I only needed a small lunch, so I didn't try their ribs, but judging by the quality of their smoked meats, I'm sure they're phenomenal! For being so small, this place has some serious character, and is a welcome addition to Lincoln's (much-too-small) bbq scene. Chubb does an excellent job cooking the fish and his potato salad always has a little different flavor but delicious every time I enjoy the atmosphere-soul music, blues. First time here. I ordered the Cajun Soul chicken sandwich which came with one side. I selected the macaroni and cheese as my side. My husband ordered the BBQ Sundae and asked for an additional side order of Sweet Dill Corn. First, the sandwich is marinated in Sriracha sauce and pepper flakes and then breaded and fried. And the it's served on buns with Sriracha mayo and pickles. There may be more to it than that, but that's what I remember. I have to say that it was really delicious. It was dripping with juices and so, so yummy. The macaroni and cheese was very good as well. Quite satisfying. My husband really liked the sundae. And he gave me a bite of his corn and I've got to say that I regret not ordering that instead of the mac and cheese. The service was great. The guy at the register was very good at explaining everything and gave us a coupon for the next time we come in. I truly recommend coming here. If I could give 4.5 stars, I would. read more

I don't care how much it cost, it was excellent and that will bring me back. The ribs were succulent, meaty and full of smoke flavor, the result of thoughtful recipe and technique. The beans were excellent, but I could not eat many because of their sweetness. Cole slaw was typical Southern sweet cole slaw. Their counter girl was helpful and knowledgeable. I had a great experience at Soulfull Cocina . From the moment we walked in, warm and inviting ambiance from the ower. The staff was attentive, friendly and helpful. I got a pull pork sandwich & yummy mac&cheese. Everything was plated nicely, cooked perfectly & of course bursting with flavor. I've wanted to try this place ever since they opened but haven't been able to make it over during business hours. Finally got to try a few things and so far very impressed, we had ribs, baked beans, Mac and cheese all very tasty, ribs were juicy and seasoned well, nice chunks of meat in the sweet and tangy baked beans, creamy Mac and cheese. Food definitely needs improvement. Catfish was dry and prepared improperly. They used a dry rub on pork, which is a big no no as it dries out an already lean meat. Mac and Cheese was old and the cheese was expired, most likely reheated from way earlier in the day or even from the previous day and they garnish their ribs with pickles. All around a terrible food quality. Do not recommend. They also have things on their menu that they do not actively sell, as they have never served them. When confronted about this blame was shifted to DoorDash. read more

Hands down, with out hesitation, best bbq and soul food I've tried in Nebraska. Every single piece of food was tastefully seasoned . Not too much and just the right amount ! I-had fried cat fish, cornbread, collard greens and Mac n cheese which were all so delicious and honestly perfect. My gf has the special Cajun soul chicken sandwich with sweet dill corn and that was also phenomenal. The vibes in the restaurant were also immaculate, great music and very clean and friendly !
