I get mosquito fish, for free, each year for my small fountain. They even bring them to me, if desired. If desired they will walk your property w you pointing out places likely to fill with mosquito larvae. All free and always friendly. read more

This is the best government agency ever!! They answer the phone promptly and are kind, friendly and helpful. The technicians come out almost immediately to treat fountains and ponds with free mosquito fish and/or floating charcoal to keep those mosquitoes in the larvae form in the water so they can't bite. The best part is they will treat YELLOW JACKETS NESTS with poison for FREE! It's as if they were here to help the people!! I didn't know they would deal with wasp nests in the ground until the local hardware store told me. I got on the Marin Sonoma mosquito and vector website and put in a request on a Sunday. By Monday afternoon they came out and dealt with the wasp nest. Very impressed with the ease of service and the speed. read more

Since we have lived in Petaluma we had three separate infestations of yellow jackets. Our latest was over this past weekend when visitors noticed some buzzings in our flower bed. Like in the past, our go/to group was to call the vector control. They came promptly on Monday and took care of it. The guy that came said it was a large nest and might take 3 days to kill them all. I really appreciate that they provide mosquito fish for free. Just drive up and scoop fish from their bucket near front door. You don't need many as they multiply readily. Bring you own container/bucket although they do provide take out containers. read more

Okay, you could pay for a pest control service for in ground wasps/yellow jackets or you could use this governmental agency who does an excellent job at no "extra" charge. We called two local pest control places, New West and Nature Science, and they both wanted upwards of $150 to specifically address one nest and would take days to come out. However the MSMVSD did it for "free" on the same day we called! They were knowledgeable and even checked out the perimeter of our property for other pests and removed two other paper wasp nests! Joe, the technician, was great, professional, friendly and provided advice on how to prepare for this seasonal problem. Also, Monica, the person who answered to phone and dispatched the technician was also friendly and prompt. Amazing service that we already pay for!!!! read more

With ditches that hold water for months or a pot saucer that has water sitting in it, you surely will wake up itching from some nasty mosquito , and I hate it!!! We had been having trouble with aggressive yellow jackets swarming our deck so I contacted Marin Sonoma Mosquito & Vector Control via their website. Two days later I received a phone call from Teresa Thomas-Nett saying she was going to be in Sausalito the next day and would be able to stop by and treat the two nests that I discovered close to the house. Teresa arrived on time and bravely treated both yellow jacket nests at no charge! She was amazing, extremely knowledgeable and the treatment was successful.
